Yep...my brother works for the Detroit Metro Airport
authority, and while he's at the office he has a badge
that lets him bypass security, and get into restricted
access areas--BUT he could be fired for trying to use
it to bypass the checkpoint while travelling. I think
in the US there ARE some regulations that allow
certain law enforcement officers (not Air Marshalls;
they're a special case among special cases) to carry
their weapons onto the plane, but even then they still
have to go through security. I'd expect Canadian
regulations are similar or, given their restrictive
firearms laws, even more severe. Except in a very
special circumstance (like transporting a prisoner)
Nick would probably be treated like any other
passenger.

If he *is* full of shrapnel, though, he could always
get a friendly doctor to write up a letter with a
suitable explaination.

Hi

My hubby, being in charge of the police at JFK international airport (he just
got promoted to inspector from captain) has the official word

Cops do not get any special preference going through the screening points.
They are not allowed weapons unless on official duty. Most cops don't mention
who they are to avoid any unnecessary searches.

Regards,
Sue

Congratulations, Inspector Honig! That's quite the responsibility. I wish him
much success.

Can you dye soap Caddy-green for the Caddywhacks? It'd need fins too. =)
And that "new car" smell...

While Natalie is digging a bullet out of him, he remarks that bullets
usually go right through him--so it would seem that the fact that this one
stuck is also a sign that he is becoming more human.
