2. In the pilot, why didn't Nick whammy the guy he
fell out of the window with? (the one with the machine
gun)
Schanke said the guy had been smoking crack for 72 hours. It's gotta be hard
to whammy someone with that few brain cells left.

To be brought across, you have to be drained to the
point of near death, then ingest large quantities of
blood from a vampire. But the women in If Looks
Could Kill were simply being injected with small
amounts of blood. Ditto for Fallen Idol.

Yep. Unless he pulled a Faust & was "redeemed by love".

Sure, but he would have just assumed it was nagging
guilt, as usual.

> connection with Elyse (sp?)
Hmm, you mean Alyce? If so, then perhaps he was so
overwhelmed with guilt/relief after "killing" LaCroix
that he didn't hear the faint murmuring thoughts of a
baby sister. And by the time the "static" died down,
perhaps she was far away, thus weakening the
"signal".

I think she was thinking, quite naturally (for Janette!), of young
*men*.

Great questions!

But it didn't work, did it? It's been TEN FREAKING YEARS and they still haven't
shut us up! AND THEY NEVER WILL!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER!!!!

And if you didn't understand that, go read Sunny's new fic, "LK Confidential".
It will make you wince, squirm, seethe, laugh, and cheer. And above all, it
will make you damn proud to be here!!! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to
go find a pudgy asian TV exec to pound into the ground.

I don't understand. Is this in response to something written in a fic or
something someone at Sony has said? The
vehemence and violence of the response were confusing, and very jarring,
esp. so if it is in response to something fictional.

Sorry if anyone gets offended over my previous message. I'm currently on a
sugar high and very emotional.

But that doesn't mean I'm not still damn proud to be here!!

If not I still want one.

I'm not certain about weather the list quantity has gone up or down, but as a
new fan I can attest to the staying power the fandom has. Nearly 10 years after
the show was canciled and you still have the support of a large and tight group.
How many fandoms can say that this long after cancilation they still have both
pagan and Christian groups.

STEF, is a one year fan still a newbe?

I get the feeling less and less people are posting. That there aren't as many
authors
writing. That fans are losing interest.

For anyone who might take offense at this sentence - it is a reference to Oysn
Nobuyuki, a character in "LK Confidential" by Sunny LaCountess. I'm sure there
was no intent to slander (the verb - not the noun) any person or group of
people.

If you have any questions or concerns, please write to me or to Lisa.

LK isn't Sony's fault.

For the record, it was USA who made the decision to pull out of FK, under
pressure from Ryssher. Ryssher was concerned that FK was beginning to overtake
Highlander in some markets where both competed in syndication. So they made
USA's pulling its funding from FK a condition of selling Highlander to USA.

That was what killed FK. We only got the last four episodes for syndication
because the German investors insisted.

Tri-Star had been all set to push FK hard at the annual trade show. They had
promotional items all made up and Ger had been asked to make public
appearances.

As for LK, the script was entirely James Parriott's doing. The first draft
killed everyone except Reese. The second, which was the one that was filmed,
killed Nick, Nat, and Tracy. Ger was directing. He took out the part where we
saw the stake descend on Nick and allowed Catherine Disher to play Nat's last
scene with a little wiggle after she was on the floor, indicating that she
wasn't dead at that point. JP restored the cuts. Ger took them out again.
Someone told JP, who got on a plane to Toronto and was on the set to make sure
the ending went his way. In the middle of the night, just as the scene was
about to be shot, someone from Sony called the set and overruled JP. That's
why we don't see Nick staked and and we can't be sure Nat's dead. (All we know
is that she's on the floor, apparently unconscious. Yes, Nick should be able
to tell. However he's distraught and he didn't notice when Janette returned as
a mortal in Human Factor.)

So, LK isn't Sony's fault. Not going ahead with the show for another year,
maybe, but not LK.

Subject: Dark Knight

In Dark Knight (this morning)

When LaCroix was pushed into the scafolding (or whatever it was)
and got staked, when the got a close up of his face, did he move?

It looked like he was going to smile but they cut away too fast
(Or am I seeing things)

LaCroix was "staked" a couple of times
(Nick gave him a flaming stake)
LaCroix should of "died" on impact

In Fever, he said something about older vampires survive better

So the longer you live the faster/better you heal?
(or something like that)

I also noticiced FK won't be on Wed & Thurs

Also, I dont think LC has any misgivings about consuing LOTS of human blood
after getting hurt which I think if I remember correctly helped the healing
process as well.

The wonderful story, "Not the Mothering Type" by Amy R. offers one

I'm listening to Diana Krall do "A Case Of You" and
thinking "This is *so* FK!". Has anybody set a music
video to it? It would work for NNP, UF, T&V, the
possibilities are endless.

If you have Real Player, you should be able to hear
the song and the album on their "Listening Party"
feature.
