Urrrk! Would this be the same "666 - Temporary Road" my husband and I were
traveling on about 20 years ago? Cliffs on one side, nothing on the other
side but a high chain link fence with barbed wire on top, and an ugly,
ominous orange glow in the distance.

It was spooky enough, then, but now I'm imagining it with LaCroix standing
in the road, wearing that cloak he was wearing in "A Fate Worse Than
Death." Lacroix, just standing there... and waiting...

I'm also a big Due South fan, and one episode stands
out now since I've become an FK fan. 'The Edge' has
Fraser helping at an ambassadors reception and
thinking he's losing it because he keeps making
mistakes tracking the guy who's threatening the party.
He's not believed when he tells who he thinks it is
and sneaks in dressed as a waiter, and when the bad
guy finally shows up, he takes Fraser hostage. After
they get him freed and arrest the guy they ask him his
name.

"LaCroix...Macon LaCroix." I don't confuse the
characters because this is a Black guy, but when I
first started watching FK and didn't know LaCroix, our
LaCroix's first name, I kept coming up with Macon and
I'd think no, that's not it.

Discovery Science had a program on Pompeii and
Vesuvius last night....watched it thinking of a
certain Roman general the entire time LOL. I then had
to replay the scenes from AMPH and A2A of course. LOL.

*sigh* All right, this is gonna sound kind of vauge, but I read a LK
explination I _really, really_ liked, and now my brother wants to see it, but I
can't find it again. It was in either fkfanfic.com or fkfanfic2.com, near the
end of the alphabet (whether by story title or author, I can't remember), but
it was a really beautiful peice where Nick was explaining to LaCroix--
telepathicly, I guess-- that he was no longer afraid to take the next step.
The only line I really remember that might be tell-tale is where he admonishes
LaCroix, "You're not listening. You've been in my head for 800 years, don't
pretend you can't hear me, now." Anyone recongnise it? I looked, but that's a
LOT of stories to sift through. (And I keep getting sidetracked reading one or
another <G>)
