Subject: My Last Knight Theory

Ok, after watching Last Knight again, and getting teary-eyed at the end, I have
a theory.

1. As someone else mentioned, why were the monologues shown before the last
scene, when they actually occurred? The only logical reason I can think of is
that someone is remembering them and that they're really flashbacks. I'm
guessing Nick, but it could be LaCroix or Nat, if she was brought across in the
end, as well.

2. Why shoot the beginning scenes with the transferred prisoner, Dawkins
(sp?), in slow motion at all? There is no apparent reason to film the scene
where he breaks free in slow motion except to convey a surrealistic, dreamlike
effect. The duration of the first slow motion scene is much longer than most
shows would film, (except perhaps the Matrix). But again, I think that was
done very deliberately, to convey either a dream or someone remembering the
whole night after it had taken place.

My theory is that at the last second, Natalie woke up, having been
inadvertently brought across, and LaCroix tossed the stake away. The entire
episode could have been anyone's flashback, but I'm guessing it was Natalie's.

Later Nick, LaCroix, Natalie, and Janette all moved to an island in the
Carribean and are, at this moment, sitting on a beach under the palm trees
and drinking blood wine in the moonlight.

But then, it's only a theory.

The endless forever Last Knight...denial, denial and even
more denial.

I admit, it is pretty depressing for a last ep. and sadly
enough, pretty unnecessary. I agree with all who say they
put a twist in there (well Ger did, James, as it seemed,
was quite willing to kill 'em all) to leave room for the
possibility of coming back.

What bothered me about this episode though was the
irrational behavior of every character. Tracy is too slow
and careless for a cop, Nat is suddenly suicidal, no
longer the wise, considerate one, Nick does what he's
vowed not to do for over a century, and LaCroix…, like
they can go ahead and explain how he would be willing to
leave his favorite son behind or worse, stake him. I just
don't buy it, unless it is supposed to be someone's bad
dream.

I have to agree with Mary Lynn. I find it wholly understandable for LC to stake
Nick, especially after Nick told him that LC was his closest friend. It's
relevant to note that in Roman society, a man who had to commit suicide for
reasons of honor (or because he was ordered to) would sometimes ask his best
friend to perform the deed. It would be almost an act of love for the friend to
perform this final favor.

It could be argued that the dreamlike quality of the entire episode is Nick's
memories as he dies. After all, we've gone for three years seeing flashbacks
through Nick's eyes---this could be the final flashback. Add to that the final
scene of the sun rising over Toronto---perhaps that symbolizes Nick going into
the light at last.

This episode can be argued seven ways from Sunday---as for me, I prefer to
think of it as the tragic, yet somehow hopeful, ending of a tragic story. I do
regret that they cut the Romeo and Juliet soliliquies; that would have added to
much to the tragedy.

I generally just skip watching the episode. I never understood why TPTB
chose to end the series that way. Unless they wanted to make sure that the
FK would not return in any shape or form . After all how could it everyone
died..

Having written that It particularly bothered me that

A Nick who only just managed to survive in Ashes to Ashes was killed by
LaCroix in the very next episode Last Knight.

B Natalie apparently lost her mind and decided on the Janette cure without
really understanding what had actually happened. I thought she was a
scientist. For all she knew it might have been something unique in
robert's blood which brought about the cure. Besides which surely it would
have made sense to make sure Nick was well fed first. before offering
herself as a sacrificial lamb.

C And tell me why did they need to call Nick to the precinct to go
after the escaped prisoner? He is not the only cop they have. Supposing
the escape had happened in the daylight. They knew Nick was helping
Natalie deal with the fact she had just lost friend to suicide. I realize
Nick explained this by saying whats his name (sorry but I have not
looked at the episode for at least 5 years) might listen to him because he
had arrested him once. ???? Why would he? This is not my Idea of the
beginning of a beautiful friendship between them.

D. .I accept Nick might act irrationally and Natalie might have act
irrationally but LaCroix? What was he thinking. What was his excuse for
letting the situation get so out of hand?

Just my two cents worth.

No, they did not show anyone die, except Tracy. Anyway, what I originally

survived and moved on with LaCroix.

Subject: Re: Last Knight (yet another theory)

First off I am of that school of thought <as Sunny wrote>: The endless
forever Last Knight...denial, denial and even more denial.

But if LK (Big IF) did happen then my theory is:

1)Lacroix clonked Nick on the head into unconsciousness with the stake.

2)He then flew off to the emergency room with Nat, disguised the bite marks
and whammied the staff into saving her.

3)Takes off with Nick, sequesters him. LC now has extra leverage to extract
"obedience" from Nick because Nick now owes Nat's life to LC. Nick and Nat
have all the freedom to act stupidly (and out of chracter) because they were
emotionally overwrought that night. But The General will always think many,
many steps ahead. There is no benefit for LC if Nick is dead and he well
knows that Nick doesn't want to live on with Nat gone.

By saving Nat and taking Nick away, he gives Nick a "cooling off" period and
will have the future option of adding Nat to his entourage later. LC does
after all, think she's an exceptional mortal and if brought across later,
will have the potential of making eternity even more interesting (or at
least bind his favorite son closer to him).

Well, my theory anyway.

Greetings fans of the Knight,

Ever since Sci-fi returned Forever Knight to their schedule April 1st, it
has boosted this fandom and brought us many new fans (most of which hang out
at the SF BBoard). Everyone wants to see a return movie with the original
cast and FK's main actors are still around and looking great! They could do
it, but the time is now or never. Sci-fi Channel has helped start re-newed
interest in some movies and could, indeed, help convince Sony/Tristar to
release rights for a FK movie(s) of the week. The SciFi channel shows many
original movies made for them and the audience ratings (I think) would
justify the expense.

How are we going to catch their attention you might ask? Firstly, everyone
in the USA needs to show their support and viewing credit to show that
Forever Knight is being devoured by a large audience, even with its poor
time-slot. Just simply leave your cable receiver on in the mornings before
work, if you need to, or like many set a timer on your recorder to catch it.

Secondly, write Tristar and Sci-fi's addresses requesting a return movie
with original cast. Write to both e-mail and snail mail (just as important).
If you don't have time to write, feel free to grab a sample letter off my
"Save the Knight" page. Here's the addresses and yes there are several for
each. Please write as many as you can. Remember, for snail mail all you have
to do is print out extra copies and mail them. The more you can write the
better for our Knight:

Lastly, I have found Sci-fi's phone #, in which you can actually talk to
real people. You will want to speak to the programming department stating
the same basic things, thanking them for Forever Knight's return and of
course the asking of a return movie. Here is the #:

(212)-413-5000

I hope you all will participate in this. Remember, it takes a large fanbase
and hard work to get what we want. The Forever Knight fans must show Sci-fi
and Tristar that we exist, appreciate what they have done, and that we still
would love more of this terrific series. If you are international, please
still e-mail Sci-fi, because if we are granted a return movie, I am sure you
will have a way to see it also. If any of you get decent responses or
important news please e-mail me at: kris1228@e.......

Thanks for your support,

This is partly in answer to the previous post.

As you all know my hubby works for Vivendi/Universal. And I've been trying
to give you guys updates as to what's going on over there since they have
controlling interest in USA/SFC. Well, here's the latest: As it effects
Forever Knight.

Mr. Messier has lost the company over half it's value this past year. He has
been recalled to France two weeks ago, along with half his staff. Mr. Barry
Diller has been rumored to now be the new head of Universal Ent. Co..
Vivendi's American association will end as of Aug 31 of this year. All of
there people will be out of the Seagram's building as of this date. The
building is also going to be sold. After said date Universal Entertainment
Company will be a separate entity with Mr. Diller at it's head.

I don't know who owns the rights to Forever Knight but with Mr. Diller
becoming the media's CEO/COO, I feel he should be added to our list's target
letters. Even though some of you feel he doesn't like FK. Maybe we can
change his mind on the subject with our feedback. I will be forthcoming with
the snail mail address as soon as I have it.

Interestingly...my husband retires Sept 1 so my info will be cut off then.

Works for me as well Ell. Your theory would fit with LaCroix's
personality.

Yes, please do continue the pursuit for DVDs. Addresses for everything can

<<Gods,I have never seen this episode before so I didn't realize how
throughly depressing it was. Even Ashes to Ashes isn't this depressing.
I hope that Nicholas and LaCroix do live on. For some reason, this
reminds me of a Shakesperian tragdy, paticulart Othello, but than
again,I am rambiling.

Thoroughly depressing, and it just stays with you for days. And I agree
it was put together extremely well. It was just very depressing.
Tracy's death was so sad. But one thing, she told Nick he could have
trusted her, but she didn't trust him enough to tell him about Vachon.
That might have changed things somewhat. Who knows? It was just an
emotional experience.

My theory:
LK was a nightmare of one of the following:
                                          A. Natalie (my personal
belief!). As a result of Lara Haynes' suicide.
                                          B. Nick. As an after effect of
Divia's attack, or, from a glass of bad cow.
                                          C. LaCroix. Again, an after
effect of Divia's attack, but with a sudden guilt for how he's treated
Nick all these years. Nick did, after all, save him from Divia when he
could have let her kill him.

LK had to be a nightmare or hallucination. After all, nobody dies.
Nobody *ever* dies. :-)
 Just my thoughts.

So glad to hear it, especially after six years of my brother
trying to convince me that *everybody* dies, including Janette in
Human Factor. He's convinced that the only two charactors to
survive Last Knight were Reese and LaCroix.
