Subject: FKFanFic2 SAVED!

Well, it's hosted temporarily by friend and co-owner Jarvinia at:

http://fkfanfic2.gryffonslair.com/

I'll work on an update in a few days, but at least it's back up again! Mundo
thanks to her for sharing her webspace, and I'll hopefully be getting an account
of my own soon. Please make sure to change your bookmarks and other links, and a
few of the pages might not be accessable since they're still being worked on to
add a new line of code in.

Thank you kindly to all who have responded and for your offers, I am glad the
Knightly spirit hasn't died out.

Unless, of course:
1. You have dialup.
2. You have traffic restrictions on your ISP, even for broadband. (They do
check what appears to be "server traffic" typically.)
3. you actually *mind* having a huge security hole like Internet
Information Server on your system (just run Apache instead.)
4. You mind any sort of performance hit.

Just a few things. If you don't have constant traffic on the site, it
might not be a problem - oh, make sure to get a fixed IP address. (Though
there are some services that help you set your domain name - fkfanfic2.com
- to a non-static IP...)

I agree, Mary. The 70's for Lacroix must have been a
'Knightmare'. He he. Phylis

I read these at work (I'd never been to the page before) and laughed myself
silly. I kept having to tell curious co-workers, "Beleive me, you're not going
to understand a _thing_ if you haven't seen the series."

I have a 50-meg domain, and my personal stuff is only about 20 meg at
this point. I can create a sub-account for you to be able to access
and maintain the info if you want. I do *not* have MySQL database
capabilities enabled/added.

The URL would be www.martinek.us/fkfanfic2

It's an option for you. If I go over 50 meg, it's 10 cents additional
per month, which isn't a big deal to me. I host with Your-Site, which
for $5/month gives me 50 meg, no advertising, etc.

Oh, it most certainly was. :-) I wrote a short story on one small
incident. It's on the FKFANFIC site, but the text lost some formatting.

It's on my site at:

Well, it's the next step in the technology, and like any
other technological advancement, it has some problems and
exceptions to deal with in the beginning. But the sooner
you leave the old stuff behind, the sooner you get to the
future.

HI . . . . closed captioning definatly helps
I leave mine turned on because sometimes lines that ate cut or re-edited,
are still in the closed captioning

Funny example: I was watching Star Trek Voyager awhile back
And the line was "I have to go down to enginering to get a sub-space modulator"
Or something like that
But what came up on the text was "I have to go down to enginering to get a
StarFleet Wiget"

Closed captioning makes shows more intersting

The A.I.D.S. episode was so COOL

I think you have to wait for a while. FTP sites take
longer to load and give the user the impression that the
screen is frozen.
