Subject: KtK script auction update - Monday

We had a nice beginning. Thanks to everyone who started us off. To those of
you with questions, I'll get back to you as soon as I have an answer from the
rest of the group. <g> We're running down the final cover colors and will
let you know which scripts we actually have.

Same rules as with the last auction. Please send me your bids, not the list.
Tell me what you're bidding on and how much, and please give me some kind of
ID if you don't want your name listed.

Because we're really pushing the time envelope here, those who win, please be
prepared to respond quickly with your payments. Because of growing costs,
the KtK has to ask for a separate check/money order for shipping in the
amount of $3.50. If you pay with PayPal, you can just add the extra into
payment.

Web site is on: <A HREF="http://www.ktk.op.nu/">Kickstart the Knight</A> ((
 http://www.ktk.op.nu/ )) Send bids to knightwave@a.......

Auction ends midnight EST on March 31. Hope everyone has fun. <g>

Sorry for the delay in responding to this, but I'm
just now getting a chance to catch up on email.

Just a slight correction in this interesting post---
Toronto has divisions, not districts.

And here's my input (for what its worth):

The LAPD does not have 'Precincts'. I believe that is
in New York. Back in the late 1970's I was a Los
Angeles Police Department Explorer and I worked in
Hollywood. At that time the LAPD had 'Divisions' and
Hollywood was Division No. 6. The LAPD also had one of
its many scandals and they wanted to appear unified
and the term 'Division' was changed 'Area'. So the
LAPD now has 'Areas' and Hollywood is still Area No. 6
(although the boundaries have changed). The building
itself was know as the station. So it was, "lets meet
back at the station." Just another interesting note
about the Hollywood Station. The old station building
that I used to work in (and has since been torn down
and replaced) was a great looking brick building. But
the great part was that the Explorer office was in the
old morgue in the basement, complete with meat drawers
in the walls for the customers which we used for
storage.

Help, please!

The story had Nick and Vachon joy riding on their bikes, they then take
their bikes to another city (Montreal?) to find out what might have happened
to Janette. There is a very ancient vampire girl, and her monk like master
who both give the guys trouble, and it's Nat and Tracy to the rescue. If I
am remembering correctly, it was an all together good story. Anyone know
the title/author?

Thanks!

Can't resist asking---is there an Area 51? And if so, do people mysteriously
disappear when they enter the station?

How picturesque! Somewhat like the place I used to work--the MIS division of a
hospital. We were in the former chemical dependency locked ward. The photocopy
machine was in the padded cell. <g>

Subject: 2001 FK Fanfic Awards: CANCELLED

Due to a lack of any significant response, I'm declining to continue trying to
carry on with the 2001 FK Fan Fiction Awards this year. While a brave few people
have registered for voter IDs (thanks, and sorry I didn't send out numbers, but
I was waiting for a good response before I really went into Organization Mode),
I have received no nominations despite two broadcast messages.

I want to thank everyone who participated last year (and that was a fairly good
turnout) and who did respond this year. But since doing this takes quite a bit
of time, and not many people seem to care this year, that's it.

Maybe after the show's been on the air a bit we'll see more activity on the
lists! But until then, I'll give it a rest and concentrate on finishing those
fanfics I have in progress (yeah, yeah, I know, but I really mean it this time!
<g>).

My best to all,
Nancy Kaminski

I'm a little surprised. I did nominate my story. I also
wanted to be a voter but was waiting for your cue and the
site address were I could go and subscribe like I did
last year. Did I miss anything here? <looks klewless>

I just saw about 3 comercials for the FK Marathon on Scifi during the showing
of Dark Shadows this morning.

They are kinda funny. They feature all kinds of vampire references. Even
Count Chocula. :)= It also mentioned that FK returns to the Scifi lineup
with the Marathon.

Subject: FK Ads on Sci-Fi Channel

[As someone not on digest might already have posted this, apologies if it's a
duplication of info.]

SciFi Channel began running ads for FOREVER KNIGHT during DARK SHADOWS this
morning. I saw two ads (a long version and a short version) consisting of
(mostly microscopically small) clips of FK flashing on screen between the rather
schlocky schtick of people dressed up as vampires frolicking around in daylight.
"Starting in April, the vampires will be out in the daytime." [People in vamp
make-up are then seen jogging en masse, staring at a box of "Count Chockula"
cereal, reading over "mortals'" shoulders and freaking them out on buses, etc.]
SciFi then says FK is returning to their line-up, plugs the FK marathon on
Monday April 1st, and ends with the shot of jogging vampires and the line, "Put
a little midnight in your daylight."

Funny, in a weird sort of way, but I'd frankly have preferred to see fewer
unknowns in dorky costumes and a little bit more of the show they were plugging.
Oh well.
