I'd say low to mid 40's. Especially since he was an army man. Don't think
they aged as gracefully back then as compared to Modern Times. He probably
looked older than he was. lol

Weelll, the PPGs have so many excellent adversaries, I think that would charm
him! LC's only frustration would be that Mojo Jojo, the Boogie Man, Sedusa or
Him never wins! No problem that a flea in the ear of Craig McCracken wouldn't
fix! And consider - Professor Utonium is another father who created his own
children as an experiment, kind of the attitude LC had, at the very least in
Daniel's case. Plus, I think LaCroix would secretly envy Blossom's ice breath,
cheer Buttercup on in giving into her dark side, and would be strangely drawn
to Bubbles' purity and innocence.

And I've always thought Mr. Octopus reminded me of LaCroix!

Subject: LaCroix's Age (was: Aspects of LaCroix)

Wasn't NB something like 39 or 40 when FK started?

I don't recall when a boy was considered a man in ancient Rome, but I think
it was somewhere in his late teens. Then take into account the number of
years it takes to rise to the position of general, and I'd put LaCroix in
his early-to-mid forties.

Two things that crossed my mind: one is that people who have thicker skin or
fleshier features tend to age more visually (compare Mick Jagger with David
Bowie, for example), the other is that "average life expectancy" doesn't
mean that people in earlier cultures all died young. Some of them lived
into their 70s and 80s just as we do now; it's just that not as many of them
did (infant mortality, disease, famine, etc.).

      Hi all,

They judged Nick to be 35 when brought across
so I guess they did the same for LC, who I think
was born in '49, making him about 46 when they
       finished the show.

I just noticed that everbody is talking about the
"LaCroix" water but no one has mentioned that it is
Berry-Flavored (Rabina maybe?) and in a Blood-Red can.
I picked it up at a local "Dollar Store" 3 for a
dollar.
I've had an image of the can on the FK page on my
site for about a month or so. It's a joke about our
tapes being sponsored by the product but it isn't
really! Check it out!

Hello Everyone,

It's that time of year again, and I am happy to announce that the 2002 Raven
Awards are now open.

They will close at MIDNIGHT on the 1ST of February 2002.

What are the Raven Awards I hear you wonder? Well okay. The Raven
Awards is the Forever Knight Writing Competition.

Now what is different about this competition from the FK Awards is that they
are judged. But do not panic or be put off because they are, the whole set up
of the RAwards is to encourage New Writers and Old Writers to pick up the
pen again. We are not looking for the next Pulitzer prize winner.J

Take a look below for the categories and the basic rules of the game.

PLEASE READ THE RULES BELOW BEFORE YOU POST YOUR STORY.

Oh yes and before I forget..there will be PRIZES this year!

Of course it is mostly for the prestige, but the winners of each place in each
category will WIN an embroidered FK polo shirt.

For a more concise read of the rules, guidelines and past entries go to:

http://www.vivacehealth.co.nz/ravenawards.htm

THE CATEGORIES

PRIMUS

This is open to anyone and everyone entering PG13 fiction. Any faction, any
skill level!

ADULTUS

For adult fiction only. Strictly NC17! Writers and readers must be over 17 to
enter this category as it will contain sexually explicit literature. Again, all
factions catered for.

NOVUS

This section is ONLY for writers who have never posted fiction before. I am
hoping to encourage new writers to have a go! Do not be afraid to enter a
story. You my remain anonymous, to all but the judges, if you wish.

NOVUS ADULTUS

As above, this category is for NEW ADULT writers only, you may enter even
if you HAVE posted non-erotic fiction before. But like the Adultus category it
is for fiction suitable for readers over 17.

>>>>><<<<<

RULES OF THE GAME

All stories must be a NEW piece of Forever Knight Fiction. This means it
can't have already been fully posted anywhere, that includes your personal
WebPages, before the 1st of October 2001! (Yes. It can be that story you
wrote 2 years ago which has been sitting on your hard drive!<g>)

It has to be at least 2000 words long to enter. (A small margin of leeway will
be given. This is not concrete.)

There is also a 30 Part limit...this also is not set in concrete. Please contact
me if you would like to submit a story longer than this. Your story then must
be posted to the Raven Awards yahoogroups community. Go here to join up:

http://www.vivacehealth.co.nz/ravenawards.htm

(It may be posted to fkfic-L and any other lists at this point as well.) This
List is for the JUDGES to receive your work and for other to read it as you
post. (it is not in competition with fkfic-L and is only operational for the
duration of the Awards)

In the SUBJECT line of your E-mail, please state the category you wish to
enter your story into, along with the title and number of parts that make up
your story.

example: Primus: Nick Bakes A Cake part 01/05

Stories need to be broken up into parts of no more than 350 lines. i.e. a
story which has 1000 lines needs to be sent in 3 separate e-mails labeled,

Story title part 01/03, Title part 02/03 and 03/03 etc. There is no limit to
story
length.

Those of you familiar with FKFIC-L will recognize this system. Unlike FKFIC-
L, though, 10 parts may be posted at any one time in a 24 hour period. Long
stories(more than 15 parts) can be sent directly to me via .txt attachment,
then I shall post them to the list. This way the judges will get the story as
one item rather than wait for days to get the whole thing.

If you are under the age of 17, your story can be sent directly to me with the
section you wish to enter stated in the SUBJECT line. Unfortunately you are
unable to enter the Adultus and Novus Adultus categories.

All entries MUST be posted at the Raven Awards Yahoogroups by the:

1st of February, 2002!

You do not have to enter the competition to join the Raven Awards at
Yahoogroups! Show your support, and be in to read some great fiction by
signing up here! Join the Raven Awards at:

http://www.yahoogroups.com/community/ravenawards

Go on! Give it a go!! Sign up and get writing today!

Good Luck!! And remember this is supposed to be FUN! Challenge yourself!
Perhaps write a piece for a faction you don't usually tackle. No holds barred!!

Need a few guidelines? Goto:

http://www.vivacehealth.co.nz/ravenawards.htm

For ANY questions please eamil me.

I think that in an earlier discussion here, it was decided that as
the actor was 42 at the time of the AMPH episode, that was Lacroix's
likely age at conversion. As to him being 'venerable' and 'old', it depends
on one's persective. <G> Not being precisely a spring chicken
myself, he doesn't look so venerable. And some listmembers
consider him a mere stripling. <G>
