Ok, first off, sorry for the massive cross-posting, I wanted to reach as many
groups as was possible.

I just finished an update to the FKFanFic2 site, and am needing more fanfic
since I only have one left in reserve. If you have any fic(s), please send
it/them to me (addy on bottom) with:

summary so others can know what it's about
any/all warnings that apply (I'll accept anything- adult, slash, xover... any
kind of fic existing)

Thanks for sticking with me, and for making the fkfanfic2 archive grow to now
include over 200 fics, filk, songs, poetry, and crossovers :)

Hi all,

This weeks question is:

If you had to spend a year trapped on a desert island with a Forever Knight
character, who would it be? Why?

Just a small correction to Cheryl's much appreciated VCR alert in the Lexx
schedule (which I think she said came from Nigel's site). The correct Lexx
schedule per Sci Fi's website is:

Vlad Sci Fi 7, 9
Fluffdaddy Sci Fi 14, 16
Magic Baby Sci Fi 21, 23

The Sept. 30 listing of Little Blue Planet was correct.

Janette. She's intelligent, beautiful and able to hold up her side of a
conversation. Nat would be a close second for pretty much the same
reasons.

LaCroix would be far too domineering and Nick too insecure. Divia would be
too deadly and Schanke too loud. Vachon too self centered and Screed just
too out there. Urs too moody and Tracey too perky. When I started this
paragraph I thought I'd list everybody I didn't choose - but there are just too
many - so I guess I'll stop here.

On the other hand, maybe I should just pick Perry.

I don't know if it is appropriate to respond to the question of the week on
this list, but...

If I had to be trapped on a desert island with an FK character (I think all
Cousins of every type will agree) it would be Uncle himself : )

And, um, aren't' the reasons obvious : )=

Subject: Hypercube

I thought that this article that appeared in the SciFi Channel Newsletter
#226 would interest everyone.

Hypercube To Start Filming
Hypercube: Cube 2, the sequel to the sleeper 1997 SF film Cube, is set to
begin shooting Aug. 20 in Toronto, the Toronto Sun reported. The sequel will
star Geraint Wyn Davies, Kari Matchett, Barbara Gordon, Grace Lynn Kung,
Neil Crone, Matthew Ferguson, Lindsey Connell and Greer Kent.

Like the original film, Hypercube will place eight characters in a
cube-shaped room from which there appears to be no escape. But unlike the
original, the sequel will base its prison on the concept of the hypercube, a
four-dimensional structure, the newspaper reported.

Sean Hood wrote the script for the sequel. Andrzej Sekula (the
cinematographer on Pulp Fiction) will direct.

Captain Cohen. She's strong-minded, able to control her emotions under
extreme stress (remember when she was trying to run her station during the
asteroid panic?), and has a sense of humor (remember her amusement when
Schanke tried to curry favor in Black Buddha?) She was also able to keep
Nick under control better than the other two captains, which should mean she
could handle practically anything. :)

FYOI - there's a FK alumni in the original CUBE - Julian Richings. My mind
just went blank, but I *think* he played a scientist in A MORE PERMANENT
HELL. He also played Greg "Screed" Kramer's partner when they were recurring
characters in John Woo's series ONCE A THIEF.

As for what character I'd want to be stranded with ... I actually have
several choices, the first won't surprise anyone.

Screed, as I think he'd be a lot of fun and would keep down the rat
population if there is one (besides, he's a sailor so might know some
survival techniques for us mortal type ... besides the obvious bringing
across. <wRPg>)

Natalie would be another good one for me as all Natalie loves her Screedypoo
joking aside, I think we'd get along pretty well.

I'd go with the sailor option, too. Screed's a good bet because he'd have a
klew how to build a boat and help me escape the island within the year for
some place with non-sensible shoe shops and coffee.

Oh, wait! Any ol' vamp could fly me off a deserted island, so there's no need
to panic or go into caffeine withdrawal! Hooray for positive thoughts! Um, and
maybe I should pick Nick, since he'd be the most likely to make the effort to
not kill me when I start whining.

I was at a Highlander con last weekend, and Adrian Paul was one of the
guests. He briefly mentioned how pleased he was with casting Ger as the
villain in the show. He talked quite a bit about the show at one of his
panels, so I'm told, but I didn't attend those.

It's just a little bit of news, but I thought I'd pass it on.

Seriously <g>

I took a couple of FK fans from England on a mini-FK Tour of Toronto
last Friday and while we were at the film location of Nick's Loft, I
noticed a sign posted on the property. A development group has applied
to change the zoning for the building from industrial to
residential/commercial. Whether the building will be gutted and
remodeled into condos or simply razed to the ground, it's still too
early to say. But one can always hope.

Bottom line is, if you want come to Toronto to see the FK film sites,
you had better hurry, the sites are disappearing in the flurry of
construction. Of course, places like the CN Tower (Baby, Baby) and Casa
Loma (Father Figure and Francesca) will be around for a while yet. <g>
