They're back in the box

Here's who has decided it's hip to be Cubed: Geraint Wyn Davies, Kari
Matchett, Barbara Gordon, Grace Lynn Kung, Neil Crone, Matthew Ferguson,
Lindsey Connell and Greer Kent have been cast in the movie Hypercube: Cube

The sequel to Cube, the 1997 Canadian sleeper sci-fi hit about a group of
people trapped inside a cube, begins a month of shooting Monday.

This time, the stakes are higher and the math puzzle is harder for the
eight people who awaken inside a cube-shaped room, not knowing how they got
there. The hypercube is the mathematical concept of a four-dimensional cube
that defies the laws of physics, since we live in a three-D world.

Screenwriter Sean Hood's interest in the concept goes back to college,
where he majored in art and pure mathematics.

As the trapped team try to think outside their box and find an escape,
"there are some surprises along the way," says Hypercube producer and
co-writer Ernie Barbarash.

Among the challenges are 'the razorsphere' shredding machine, and 'time
gears' which disfigure bodies using time.

The sequel is being directed by Andrzej Sekula, best known as the
cinematographer on Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and American Psycho. Also
on board are Toronto's Mr. X Inc. digital effects house. The film is a
Lions Gate Entertainment production.

I finally got good pics of the war towel images! I have- Cousins, DP's (Anne's
included), Knighties, Mercs, NatPack, NunkAnon, RatPack, Ravens/Ravenettes, and
the Vaqs images up on the site now, in bright, crystal clear images. And though
I'm a DP/Vaquera, I kinda like the RP's rat the best!

You know you've been watching too much FK when...

You place your textbook order and the fact that your order number ends in
128 and that's close enough to 1228 that it actually makes you feel better
about 358.00 in damage (with one class still not posted).

This is so amazing. I loved cube one, a very smart and exciting film that
kept you on the edge of your seat all the time and didn't spoil the fun
with a cliché ending. I'm so happy Ger is going to be in the second one,
I'll definitely watch it when it hits theatres.

You know you are obsessed with FK when...

First off, I need no proof to know this, other people notice it from miles
away, but still here it goes:

...When you are at someone's home and they have kids who watch the
Nickelodeon channel every night, at a time when the line-up is called
"Nick at Night", and every time you hear it your heart makes a leap and
you mistakenly think they're going to show something of your favorite
blond detective--no such luck of course :(

BTW, I just discovered that Nickelodeon owns the website Nick.com. You
think the De Brabant Foundation has a hand in it? It's for the kids after

  Ger in Cube2. Hmmmm....
I saw the first one. Only one survived.
This made me wonder. Has Ger had a
role where he "died" on screen?
I don't count FK. He wasn't dead there.
But are there any other roles?
  Can anyone tell me?

Nick at Nite is why Forever Knight is the English title of FK!
Originally it was going to be Nick Knight, like the movie, but
CBS was afraid it would be confused with Nick at Nite. This was
a last moment change, so they asked the cast and crew for
suggestions. _Ger_ came up with Forever Knight.

Hehe... My first thought too <g> I love to guess and then see how close
I got (or not), so, just for fun... They probably won't do us the favor of
letting him be the winner, but letting him die one of the first ones would
be such a waste of talent too - my best hope is to see him as survivor #2!
If he's #3, grumble - but okay. Earlier I'm gonna be pissed! ;)

> This made me wonder. Has Ger had a role where he "died" on screen?

Just off the top of my head, and so far I've seen only half of his films at
Highlander! (He asks Duncan to behead him - whoa!!!) Another: Terror stalks
the class reunion (For better and for worse): he grabs the remote for the
bomb and pushes the button, next thing we see is the house exploding.
And another: Conspiracy of Fear, that hysterical endless fall from the
skyscraper. There's probably more. And don't they usually kill the baddies
at the end of action films? Did he survive Robo...?

But - if you mean some touching last words, a heartwrenching look in the
breaking eyes, uh...
Then FK would really be the closest I've seen, even when he doesn't actually
die in the end, only thinks he's going to. But hey - you sure know this funny
story that he mentioned somewhere himself, that way back his family in Wales
watched one of his first TV works and he was dying in it. It must have looked
quite realistical, since his aunt called the next day to ask if he was fine,
ROTFL!! No idea which one that was, would love to see it myself! Anyone know?
Thinking longer about it, such a scene with GWD would most likely give me
the creeps as well... Thinking yet longer - odd, I'm starting to feel sick,
Really can't blame his poor aunt ;)
