Didn't LaCroix eat him?

Okay, seriously, I don't know if we even know if he lived to adulthood, or
whether he had children. If he did I'd expect Nick to take an interest in
that line, but we never hear of him checking up on his sister's descendants.
Doesn't mean there weren't any; I think it was a loose end intentionally
left dangling in case they needed the story line later. (Nick finds that a
descendant of his sister is living in Toronto - and appears to have
committed a crime but didn't really - but he's hanging out with some really
bad people - so Nick has to find the real perp and separate his
xxxgrandnephew from his lowlife friends - all without revealing his own
identity - and while fighting a powerful urge to get involved in the kid's
life - but realizes that The Decision He Made 800 Years Ago divided him from
his mortal family forever, and after he saves the kid he regretfully
retreats ... or something.) Anyway they didn't make that episode.

He got sucked into a time warp rip where he was mysteriously reborn to a
woman stuck in a desert town and grew up with a passion for mechanical
things and for really stupid stunts. At an early age, he joined a
quasi-military group. Eventually, he developed from a cute kid to a mean
ole nasty man with a bad asthma problem which required that he wear a sort
of personal astronaut suit developed by a guy who was enamored by the Nazis.
Oh, yeah. He had two kids---a son and a daughter.

Subject: FK Relationships/Affilations

Hi!
I'm just coming outa RL and Lurkdom and TRYING to raise my head above a
FLOOD of un-read E-Mails :) so, my apologies if someone has already brought
this up, and this is sorta not entirely War-Realted, as it just pertains to
FK Fandom in general, and from there may or may not relate to 'War Stuff'
because I don't know if they play in the any Wars as a specific united
group/faction.
***AND, PLEAZZZZE understand that I am NOT in any way flaming any character
or faction, and is most definitely not intended to upset nor offend
anyone***
...Okay, that all being said... I'd like to remind ya'll about something...
Among the almost INFINITE Individual FK Character Factions and Groups and
'Relationships' that have been listed here, and some have previously and/or
will be participating in FK Wars and some have/will not, but DO have
followers/fans/devotees and the FK Faithful...
I have not read any posts/lists the include the Dark Hearts, which refers to
Javier Vachon AND Urs TOGETHER... I am a very devoted follower of Javier
Vachon, and sometimes, to my dismay...
-- #1 other well-meaning FKers say things -- to me-- off-list/s -- referring
to My Beloved,Most Favorite 500 Year-Old Long-Haired, Dark-Eyed, Loyal,
Kind, Good-Guy Spanish Vampire, The ETERNALLY AWESOME Javier D. Vachon, with
-in romantic or platonic relationship-, but I think they're referring to
romantic involvement- with The Perky Blonde Homicide Cop, Ms. Tracy Vetter.
...so, IMHVO, I think that FK folks just figure that if one is a Vaquero or
Vaquera, the he/she = a 'T & V Packer'... while there are SEVERAL Vaqs who
DO believe or want Vachon to be involved SOMEHOW, and often, but not always,
romantically with The Perky One, not all of us want/like/agree with that
particular line of thinking, and some like me prefer to see him with Urs...
-- #2 As far as we had seen on the FK TELEVISION series, Javier was Tracy's
friend and protector, but as we also saw, in the few times they were
on-sceen together, Javier and Urs STILL showed that they STILL sincerely
cared about each other -- and, although Vachon did WILLINGLY bring Urs
across -- I'll admit that he most likely PARTIALLY did mso for his own
personal desires, but he also MOST CERTAINLY did so PRIMARILY to help Urs,
as he was trying to give her, as he told her after her 'vamp-rebirth' that
this was a 'New beginning'-- he was giving her a new life, as his own Master
had done for him and his vamp-brother, The Inca-- so he had GOOD intentions!
--#3 some months ago, I happened to visit a web site that specifically
listed 'FK Romantic Relationships' -- and I mean no disrespect nor am I
trying to bother the person who worked so very hard to share her page with
FK Fandom, but the various numerous couples were listed, and, while some
such as LC and Fleur = 'Faithfuls'; Nick & Janette = 'Immortal Beloveds';
Nick & Nat = 'Nick & Nat Packers'(sorry, is this the correct name for this
couple?) --which we clearly can see in the television show, there were also
the several couples that were not 'linked' on the show, but FKers like
anyway and have web sites/pages and lists and FK FanFiction dedicated to:
'CERK Perk' = Tracy & LC;?); LC & Nat = 'Valentines'; 'Raven's Cellar' =
Tracy & Miklos; also, to mention ONLY a few: Screed & Tracy, Screed & Nat,
Nick & Tracy, Nat & Vachon... but when Vachon & Urs "Dark Hearts' was
listed, it was explained there that 'this was not a romantic relationship'
-- but, from what I saw and heard when Javier and Urs were together, I
cannot see how that can be assumed... and, from what i recall from my brief
visit, I did not see any other 'relationship' with a similar
explantion/definition --- yet MANY favorite 'romatic relationships' listed
were not specifically seen on the series, but Vachon AND Urs were shown,
even with physical gestures/touches even how they sometimes spoke with each
other -- that their's is a sensitive, caring, and sometimes evidently
intimate relationship... and not 100% 'brother-sister'type either! :) {{{I
do realize that this particular FKer who worked on the particular page DID
do her best and did so out of love and appreciation for and devotion for FK
and it cast and characters, and, remembering a mutual list we had both been
on, due to RL circumstances, she had saddly needed to leave 'active FK
Fandom/Lists/Groups' and I recently tried to see that web site/page again
recently but could not access it. I simply was using this web site to
demonstrate how some FKers view the relationship between Javier Vachon and
his Vampire daughter, and no offense or insult is directed at that web
site/page and it's owner, who, from what little I know of her, she's a very
kind and special person.}}}

So, please just remember that there are 2 lovely blonde female FK characters
in Javier Vachon's UnLife, so may folks remember Detective Vetter, but
saddly seem to forget the gentle, caring, kind vampiress whom Javier said he
could not kill even when she told him to, and he WILLINGLY gave her the
'gift of UnLife' which for all Eternity bond him to her! :)= :)=

...Thanks for 'listening'! I hope ya'll understand where this DarkHearted
VaqDreamingVaquera is coming from... {{{I figure if vachon HAS to be with an
FK female character, I want her to be Urs... and if I cannot have him, them
Urs should!}}}

As someone who tried to keep up with all the posts in the last war, I
definitely agree with this. It's hard enough to keep up with the attack
and response posts for your own faction without also trying to follow the
posts of the other factions, too.

> The number of factions has grown hugely in the past few wars, leading to more
> and more posts. Limiting factions and independents is one method of trying to
> get war posts back to reasonable levels.

One small "flaw" in this argument is that factions that join with other
factions have posted their own plots separate from the faction they joined.
I don't see anything wrong with this since it's part f the fun to learn more
about other members of your faction as you write or read war posts, and
that's one f the reasons for war. So all that's happening here is that you
limit the attack posts not the story posts.

>
> Given that attacks cannot be refused, so many factions has also led to
> situations where certain factions are 'overattacked."

Actually, since attacks are planned behind the scenes and can involve only
specific members, there really is a mechanism for refusing an attack. Just
say "no" when another faction asks if you're available. I don't see that
that would cause any hard feelings. When there were only a few factions, it
probably made sense to not refuse because there weren't enough people to
over-attack anyone. Since we've grown so large (a good thing) perhaps the
rules need to be changed. Perhaps for future wars there should be a limit
imposed on the number of attacks any faction can make or receive. The
attacks would have to be accepted on a first-come basis, so a faction
couldn't pick and choose the "best" offer to accept. Or maybe *requiring* a
response (usually, but not always, a retaliation) should be eliminated. Or
limit the number of pages or parts a post can be. I know I'm guilty of
"more is better" when I'm writing, but would have to edit myself if I knew I
had a page/part limit.

> I know of one faction
> that had seven attacks on their HQ last war.

I'd think that many attacks would be self-limiting since the faction under
attack would collapse from exhaustion and not be able to respond :-)

> The factions participating in war XI are quite diverse. Many individuals have
> multi-faction interests, but pick one for the war.

One of the problems with this is that it makes the factions grow large enough
that everyone may not get a chance to write or plot or whatever, since there
are 10 or 15 people or more and only so many hours in a war day. Especially
since some people can only participate outside of work or school hours.
I've also heard that larger factions can reduce the opportunities for newbies
to really get involved because there are so many people who already know the
rules who can just "do it" without needing to take the time to explain
things. I don't mean that anyone does this deliberately, but time is one
thing that no one has enough of in wars and sometimes the less assertive
(not a problem I have, as you can probably tell <G>) people get lost in the
shuffle or won't make suggestions to the more experienced members. I know I
was glad that I played my first war with a small faction that needed people
to do a lot of different things.

I don't mean for any of this to apply to this war, but I just wanted to
suggest that there are other possibilities to solve the very real problems
that the current WM has to address.

The UF has managed to borrow Nick and LC from their respective

them unharmed. So we don't see any reason to divide ourselves,
or the CotK. However I shall come out strongly in favor of limiting

I can't speak for the rest of the war, but as webmaster for the Vaqueros,
I've been planning on archiving the various threads that involve them.

I know that some have volunteered to archive the whole war as it happens,
and it's a good idea. That said, be aware that the war generates an
average of a hundred and thirty posts a day (and that's a stingy estimate).

I hate to be the cold, wet blanket on all that enthusiasm but that's a *lot*
of work they're gettting themselves into. If they volunteer for the job,
they need to be prepared to devote massive ammounts of time to the project.

I've only been in one War as well but that's the rule I recall. If each
faction were only allowed 3 posts per day per faction, the war would be over
before everyone got in their "going to TO" posts, let alone any actual War
game posts.
