I'm not sure. I think we're supposed to see Divia as genuinely evil, not
simply emotionally detached. I have (at least) one friend with a moderate
form of Asperger's syndrome, and he's not evil, he's just a bit geeky - kind
of a textbook computer nerd (not, I hasten to add, that all computer nerds
have Asperger's). If he had a serious form it would, I guess, make him more
nerdlish, but it still wouldn't make him want to get out there and destroy
people, which is what Divia does. She seems to WANT a connection - but of a
negative kind.
I am not up on this at all and am not a psych professional of any kind, so
please take everything I say with a grain of salt! But from what little
I've run across on autism, I haven't seen it connected with 'evil' behaviour
- just unsociable behaviour. But I'm more than willing to be corrected if
I've got it wrong.

Well, I'm not a psych professional either, but my best
friend is and puts up with a lot weird questions from
me. Now, her specialty is development/research, not
clinical or abnormal, but from what I understand from
her, that's right--autism doesn't generally lead to
antisocial behavior. I've worked with severly
autistic children in theraputic riding program, and I
didn't observe particularly violent
behavior--disconnected, yes, but there wasn't a real
focus to any outbursts. Divia, frankly, sounds like a
sociopath--incapable of empathy with others. They're
functional in society in that they can interact, but
they are also the kind of people who can torture small
animals (or people, for that matter) without
recognizing that they are inflicting pain. They will,
however, react violently when subjected to pain
(physical or emotional) themselves, but they don't
seem to recognize or sympathize with it in others.
They're the kind of people who become serial killers.
To them what they're doing makes perfect sense, but
they're not criminally insane--they recognize that
they're breaking laws and moral codes, but don't care
because in their minds it doesn't apply to them.
Divia seems to fit that profile a little more than
autism, at least from what I can determine by
pestering my friend. (Who's very nice about
questions, all things considered, though she sometimes
gets frustrated when I ask questions about brain
anatomy and want explanations over the phone!)

What a wonderful idea! Unfortunately, I can't make it this year, but
if it's going to be an annual event, there's always next year.

Subject: Letters to TPTB!
Greetings everyone!
Just to let you know, as already a part of KtK, I am now the new official
KtK letter counter! I'm taking over where Rae left off and I am ready to
start couting "fresh" letters to TPTB! :)
Forget what's it about?! Read on...
You guys write actual snail mail letters to the powers that be, and then you
tell me by e-mail "how many were written/to whom/and who wrote them." I'll
be making monthly announcements on how many have been written. My e-mail
addy is kris1228@s........
Addresses to write to are both on my site (http://knightvision.4ever.cc) and
the official KtK site (http://members.aol.com/ktkpage/index.htm). I've also
attached them at the bottom of this message.
Please note there is NEW BLOOD to write to!! They are in the middle of a
hostile takeover of USA Networks. V/U currently owns 40% of USA and are now
trying to gain complete control of the Network from Barry Diller. This is a
great time to write a letters to Mr. Messier of V/U asking for more FK.
Here's his address:
Mr. Jean Marie Messier, CEO
Vivendi/Universal Corp.
375 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10152-0192
Well, I'll be posting the first count in July, so let's have some big
numbers! Remember to send me "how many were written/to whom/and who wrote
them."
Long Live the Knight!
