I agree. That's also another of the <many> problems I have with that
episode. How could she change so much in character and appearance after
such a short time? I know that some women go through major changes after
they find their true love but to make that work for an approximately 1000
year old vampire requires a lot of ketchup, at least for me. Didn't she
have any other mortal lovers over the centuries? And what about Nick? How
could she so totaly drain her heart of her feelings for him to make so
much room for Robert? Were they just fooling around all through seasons 1
and 2? Like I said...lots of ketchup.

>whilst LaCroix and Nick are arguing over proper parenting techniques,
Janette slips on something slinky, climbs out the window, and goes for a
joyride!<

Oh, Molly! Now is my turn......ROTFLMAO!!!!! Help me from the hysteria.

Hi! Anyone else planning to attend Odyssey 2001 at London Heathrow, 4-7
May? No FK guests, but as the guests have done Trek and/or Buffy, I
wondered if I was the only list member going. It would be nice to meet up
with some of the other members, if so.

And does anyone have any flyers they want put out on the flyers table? If
so, contact me off-list for my snail mail addy at
kezia.hepden@bt.internet.com . Please bear in mind that as I'm co-running
Ops (again), and will be taking a fair bit of stuff along (vcr, kettle,
cafetiere, tea/coffee/etc, files and paperwork galore, ghetto-blaster and
cds...) in connection with that role, that I only have limited luggage
space!

Scary thought, folks - as Easter falls in the middle of April, next weekend
will be the 20th anniversay of my first con, which was also Easter weekend
and mid-April. So.... does anyone know where the last 2 decades just
disappeared to? <G>

I just went to the 35th anniversary of Star Trek last weekend. Where has 3
1/2 decades gone. Scary part is I have been a fan since the beginning. I
did Buy only Nick photos and FK fanzines this trip. :)=

I have often thought that Janette's transformation may have been because
there was something special about Robert. In Baby, Baby the woman vamp
wants to feed on the guy with the XYY chromasomes because she thinks that
he has the special quality that will transform her. Maybe there is something
special but it was not the XYY thing. Maybe Robert had that
'something special' and that is why Janette changed. For all of his trying
maybe Nick has never crossed a woman with the "something special"?

Cannot go out in the daylight unless in a dark limosouine, or wearing lots
of clothing while in a Caddy. <g> Blood is not all that limited in supply
(except in those blood donor places) there being last I saw plenty of people
and animals roaming about the planet. Can't love? You're kidding. Cause
it seemed to me that LaCroix loved Nick (yeah, yeah...), Nick loved
Nat/Janette/LaCroix/Alyssa/Alyce/and so on..and so on..<g> Vachon seemed
heading that way with Tracy. Screed sure hung around Vachon (I'm talking
*general* love here!).
As for sex and reproduction... our way is *better*? The word 'unsanitary'
springs to this squeamish mind in either case---more so on the *human* side.
Seems to me that Nick and Janette were enjoying their vampire brand of fun
pretty darn much and I saw no shortage of vampires before Hurricane Divia
hit.

Exact-a-lack-ly! Nick's character is so volatile that he could go through
any sort of personality change and it would be believable, but Janette is
the type of person with a very definite and fixed persona. Even if I could
swallow 'the cure' she found, I sure can't believe in the Jekyll/Hyde
switch.

au contraire, I always thought their capacity for love was ten times ours.
They can have many lovers, mortal and immortal, throughout their endless
life and never run out of passion. Sex? Um, I'd say from what I've seen
and read in any vampire fiction/film/show I encountered, vampires are
extremely capable in that area too. In fact by sharing blood they go
beyond the usual fashion into a realm we can only dream about.

Ok, ok, that's what I get for hurrying to edit and
send out the new rules while trying to get back to
Horatio Hornblower on A&E. :)

From a purely public health standpoint, I suspect
arrangements to meet vampires would _not_ be ok, as
the effect on the mortal's health can be very
detrimental, as in dead. :)

Janette as Glinda, the Good Witch? No, no, no, no! In those pastels, with
that bright, bouncy personality, there's only one choice - Tracy as Glinda!
Janette is the most stylish Wicked Witch of the West/East you've ever met -
and the most threatening. Urs should play the Cowardly Lion/ess (because
she's really a lot tougher than she thinks she is). And who else but Syndey
