There is no need for you to do that anymore, there is a new brand of Ribena
out called - wait for it - 'Toothkind'.
I kid you not! It is supposidly reduced fruit acid and sugars which is
better for the teeth, our teeth that is, not vampire variety.

I looked up black currant on the internet to find out about it. It's
a diruetic (only drink it on the weekends <G>) and helps lessen
fever. It also apparently only grows in Great Britain. That leads me
to think that it was Mr. Wyn Davies who thought of it, as he was
raised in that part of the world.

I haven't had the nerve to try the concentrate, yet. But I'll bet if
its as nasty as I am being led to believe, I'd figure out something
with baking soda or flour to thicken it. Say, a real thin white sauce
with appropriate food coloring...and some sort of _good_
flavoring...and it would have been cheaper...

Does anyone know what sort of job the person in the crew would have
who would be in charge of choosing to use Ribena? What else would
they do? Would the actors themselves have much interaction with that
person?

Please, do come! It would be great to have you in the Northern
hemisphere for a bit!

Subject: more on KC

I sent a detailed email to Shana asking some other questions and offering some
other advice. (Been there, done that, type of thing, both on the suicide and
the financial troubles.) One of the things Shana sent back in my private email
was how bad financially they were off.

Here's a quick summary of what they're most desperately in need of:

1 mo. rent ($800),
past due car payments ($962)
past due utilities ($600)

I've had one person (Janet) take me up on doing her resume, and I'm donating the
$$ to KC. If anyone else needs a resume, please let me know.

If you just want to donate to KC anonymously, you can PayPal the money to me at
the link below, and I'll send it on with a couple of gifts I'm getting for them,
as well as my own financial donation.
           https://secure.paypal.com/refer/pal=copper6500%40yahoo.com

I'll take care of keeping track of gifts, so if you plan on getting something
for any of KCs family, email me. Please put "Helping KC" in the subject line,
so I make sure to see it right away.

Also, if anyone has a friend/family member that works for a lending instution in
the Reno area, maybe you could put in a good word and see if they'd be willing
to help.

Actually no it's not citrus!<g> But it is high in Vit C.<g> Just real
blackcurrents, no preserves or additives. I think it has sugar added
though...but who cares....it tastes goood.<eg>

I wonder... Ribena has been around for many, many years. Someone mentioned
it was used in Interview with a Vampire... It is even endorsed by the
Queen. That means it has the Royal seal of approval.<g> Not that she has
made an action advert promoting the stuff while jumping from an aircraft at
20 thousand feet.<eg>

Btw...mixed with a little rum gets you very pissed very quickly.<g> But
beware the morning after!<eg>

I think it has that perfect consitancy, feels, pours and moves like
blood.<g>

Probably the props guy. Find blood! was the order. I suspect the person was
either english or was advised by someone who had been around the stuff and
suggested it.<g>

Thanks Em! I can't wait to get there!

Airport customs: Anything to declare Miss?
Ky: Ah...no.
A/C: What is in the box, ma'am?
Ky: Ah...Ribena?
A/C: opens box and raises eyebrow at doubious quanty.
Ky: Personal use, officer, honest!
A/C: calls across room "Mac! We got another one over here!"
-- Hours later in an interview room. The light is low and Ky droops wearily
in her chair as she leans against the table.
A/C: "Have you or have you not been a member of Nunkies Anonymous?! he asks
yet again.
Ky: "No."
Slam! A fist hits the table.
"Just give it up lady! We know the truth!"
"I swear! Just ask Julesy!" Ky breathes a silent sigh of releif at having
just missed out on signing up.
"Have you ever been a cousin?!"
"No." Kylie crosses her fingers and winces.
"Have you associated with CerkPerk personel?!"
"NO!"
The officers voice calmed remarkably before whispering,
"Have you ever joined a Nick and Nat packer list,"
"NO!"
"LIAR!"
"Help..."

Actually, Kylie, you don't really have to drag a case of Ribena all
the way from NZ with you. Every Chinese grocery store in Canada (and
there are lots of them, especially in Vancouver and Toronto) sells
litre bottles of the stuff. I can even get it at my local Costco.

So just pick up a case of here before your US tour.

A lot of stage "food" is not what it appears to be, for reasons of holding
up under multiple takes and camera lights, and being easily cut and
swallowed and interspersed with dialog. I remember reading that instead of
"ice cream", actors have parfaits of *mashed potatoes*, for example.
"Steaks" are made up of some mixture of banana and stuff... I wouldn't be
surprised if one of the things a good "stage food" person would do would be
to look at every edible item s/he sees as (1) a possible substitute for
another item and (2) an item that, if called for in a script, might need a
substitute...

The Nightcrawler & "Dr. Laura". They would devour each other, although

Rule # 6 from the list rules which are posted every Sunday:

> 6. This list is for the discussion of Forever Knight. Cast, crew, staff and
> producers in connection with what they're doing now or have done in the
> past are ok. Vampires in general are _NOT_ ok except in relation to
> Forever Knight

This rule goes right back to the beginning of the list. It was established
by list creator and first owner Jaye Prior because there was a lot of
discussion of vampires in general. People with limited time and/or no
interest in vampires outside of FK complained.

So, we don't discuss vampires in general unless it's in relation to the
specific vampires of FK.

Vampyres@m....... is general vampires discussion list
which I can recommend. I am on it and used to be the listowner. To
subscribe, send a message to the address I just gave, with the command
"subscribe vampyres" -- but don't put in the quotes. They're only here to
keep our listserv from rejecting this message. You don't need to give your
name. The software is majordomo instead of listserv, so the commands are a
little different.

This was sent to me from from Bretsky:

Just wanted to let you know that coming up in the next week or so there
will be an auction on ebay of some Forever Knight memorabilia from a
crewmember (Terry Steyn) who worked on the show in Season One and Two. He's
got a duster from season one and two bomber jackets from season two and
also some tapes. If anyone is interested in being notified when the auction
is online or just wants to ask questions his email is storm@greatlakes.com

Thanks!

When after reading all of this stuff about Ribena, you see "Black Currant"
jelly made in France and buy it, thinking: "It ain't 'Ribena' but its the
closest thing I've seen around here!"
You then take it home and are aghast when the lid pulls off to reveal...

"Crimeny! My blood is curdling!"

:)=
Kyer, kyer@p.......
who thankfully exclaimed that over the chunky-looking food while the other
family members were *outside*. I mean...how does one explain such an
outburst while staring at a normal jar of jelly?

Okay.. So someone out there is worse than *I* am. I opened a bottle of
eggnog for the family last night and wondered if it was the base for one
of Natalie's protein shakes!
