I'm still waiting to see the nominations for the special category stories.
Was the whole thing scrapped? All the sites I had bookmarked are no longer

The links to the nominations page is still there and working on
www.fkfanfic.com
Mel Moser has had to contend with some serious Real Life problems, which
have delayed the awards as well as updates of her site.

Evening

I'm looking for the transcript - official or by a fellow junkie - of Be My
Valentine. I'm pretty sure that's the title of the episode. It's the one
where we see Nicolas family and LaCroix doomed relationship with Fleur.

Does anyone have this per chance?

It's not on the FK transcript page otherwise I would not be pestering you all.

Please let me know.

Lots of us enjoy Mad Libs.
Lots of us think 'Last Knight' could use some rewriting.

I've combined these two concepts
into a web page toy. You can play Mad Libs with a scene from 'Last Knight'

Knight School
Episode: 110 Dead Air
Prerequisites: None

We open on a radio DJ, Dr. Christina Noble, a pop-psychologist. A creepy
guy has got a girl tied up, discussing sex and pain. He sounds sadistic and
twisted, he starts talking about strangling women with cords...and he's
doing it as he's on the phone. Helplessly, the producer and DJ look at each
other.

Back at the station, Stonetree listens to the recording from the radio with
the blond DJ in front of him. He has someone track down Det. Knight and
tells the DJ that he'll put someone on it, and basically, to have a nice
day. On her way out she walks into Nick, then heads off.

Stonetree briefs Nick on the case, and they determine it's not a hoax.

As Nick and Schanke drive, Schanke is convinced that the whole thing is a
publicity front and turns the radio on to prove it; she is there and
talking. Nick finds out Schanke listens to her all the time and claims it's
'research'.

The bad guy comes on the radio, wondering if the Dr. slept okay...and
expressed his insanity. He has another girl tied up in a bridal suite.

In a sudden fury, Nick leaves Schanke his car and tells him to meet him at
the station. Nick runs into an alley and takes flight.

Schanke calls it in and slides into the driver's seat.

Nick scans the area, as the bad guy continues to express his malicious
intent against this woman, who he sees as being nothing and no one. Nick
flashes back to seeing LaCroix with a peasant, LaCroix is talking about how
he's going to kill him slowly...because he is nothing.

Dr. Noble pleads with the killer to let the girl go, but his gun fires,
killing her. Nick ends up at that station, then and there are shocked faces
all around.

Schanke has a lead on a possible victim and finds the first girl who'd been
missing for two nights. Nat examines the body and expresses, "This stuff
makes vampires look like cute little schoolboys."

Stonetree gets the info from Nick and Schanke and doesn't believe the two
are connected. Nick gets an idea and hits the redial on the phone, "CTOK
Radio..." and there's the link.

They decide to put a tap on the radio's phone line, and sends Nick to the
radio station.

At the radio station, Nick has the trace equipment set up (and a cool maroon
blazer on). Nick listens in on the calls as they come in. The second
caller comes on and it's the bad guy. He starts to taunt her and Nick runs
the tap. He tells her maybe she isn't good enough and after a minute, the
caller catches on, hanging up, killing the tap at 6 numbers. (In theory
though, this only leaves 10 possible numbers, shouldn't be too hard to hunt
down.)

Schanke calls in and Nick has them put it on the speaker; the doctor finds
out that there's not only one body, but two. He hurries out there and over
to the crime scene.

They find lots of similarities in the crime scenes, and Nick flashes back to
LaCroix and Janette pestering the man again; Janette says the man looks like
LaCroix' s father. (Although, how would she know?) Nick: "You sicken me,
LaCroix" LC: "Don't watch".

Back at the crime scene, they've found a couple of fingerprints and send
them to be run through the computer. Dr. Noble shows up and introduces
herself to Schanke, who is speechless. She starts to analyze the crime
scene. Everybody but Nick and the Dr. leave, and the sun comes up.

Schanke gets to a local Psychiatric hospital and tries to get access to the
records; he produces a warrant and they lead him to a records room stacked
to the ceiling with boxes. He says, "Don't you have this on computer?" and
is told the warrant specified the records-not the database.

Dr. Noble decides that the man who has done these killings is punishing
himself because he believes he's worthless. She remembers a similar patient
a long time ago. She says she finally gained his trust and opened up to her
and she put him in the hospital because she didn't believe she could help
him. She expresses that after this man was discharged, he brutalized and
killed his mother; she, of course, felt guilty about it. She expresses that
the man keeps killing women, acting out the scene of killing his own mother,
but since it's not his mother, he kills again and again.

Nick flashes back to LaCroix and the man...LaCroix is trying to get the man
to express himself as if he were LaCroix' s father.

In the parking lot, Nick suggests she moonlight on some cases in the future,
and she says she'll wait and see if she's right. She takes off and Nick
gets in his car. After she's out of sight, he opens the trunk and gets in.

That night, back at the police station, Stonetree is not pleased that Nick
allowed Dr. Noble to see the crime scene. They get a call and Schanke
expresses his frustration at not knowing what to look for. They give him
the profile of who he says is Norman Bates and he hangs up. On the way back
to the records room, he notices that someone has left a computer logged into
the database...and takes advantage of it.

Nick heads home and grabs a bite to drink.

At the radio station, someone calls and they direct the call to Dr. Noble's
car phone. It's the boy she was talking about, Mathew. He says he's having
trouble and she suggests he go to a hospital.

Schanke has found their killer; he's the patient the doctor is talking to.

On the phone, she is eager to help and suggests she go see him. He gives
her his address and she heads in that direction.

There's a brief scene here where Nick is laying on the floor in the
wonderful black robe playing with some kind of cards, probably a Tarot deck,
with cool pentacles on them. He's thinking about the case, LaCroix and the
whole situation, surrounded with "The Night Calls My Name." He fixates on
the "sun" card and places it on his forehead. Nick realizes that he's going
to go after Dr. Noble and gets up.

Dr. Noble gets to the address specified and gets out of her car. She gets
into the room and greets Mathew.

Nick discovers Dr. Noble is visiting a 'former patient' and gets worried,
calling the station for backup. He decides to get on the air himself and he
plugs Schanke into the producer's spot.

Mathew is feeling guilty for everything, even for other people. She tries
to talk him out of believing he deserved it. He claims she didn't care, and
she expresses that the reason she put him in the hospital because she did
care. She finds out that he escaped from the hospital.

Nick starts to talk on her show about "Fantasies" and tries to get the guy
to call in, so they can trace the call. It works and the guy calls in.

Nick tries to get the guy to talk more and he gets into it, forgetting the
time. They trace the call and Nick gets the address; he takes off right
away, leaving Schanke the microphone.

The bad guy drags Dr. Noble to the roof and Nick homes in. She tries to get
him to drop his gun and let her go, but he is emotionally unbalanced,
unwilling to listen to reason. As he's about to shoot the Doctor, Nick
drops down beside her. Mathew saw him come down and freaks out, shooting at
the vamped out Nick, backing up as he does. Finally, he backs into a piece
of electrical equipment, probably a transformer, and fries himself.

Nick relaxes and helps the doctor up, making sure she's okay. Sirens wail
in the background.

Later, Nick comes back from a corner store to hear Schanke listening to the
new show, even though he tries to cover it by changing the channel, which
just happens to end up on a classical station. Nick turns it back and the
DJ wants the men in uniform to call in and tell her if women get turned on
by it...Nick dials the number and hands the phone to Schanke...who begins,
"Hello? It happened when I was still a rookie..."

1. Would Nick make a good DJ?

3. Do you believe pop-psychologists can help people?

4. Do you think this was a foreshadowing of LaCroix coming back as a DJ?

5. Who is your favorite DJ and why? (Doesn't have to be FK).

The GWD fan club has a nice Robocop page. Looks like he is playing one of the
bad guys. I'm hoping that it will also be shown in the US, and not on cable.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this be the first non-vampire role
Ger's had in a television series (not movie) shown outside Canada after
Forever Knight went off the air?

Maybe on a classic rock station. He does have a very wry sense of humor,
which makes for good commentary.

3. Do you believe pop-psychologists can help people? I suspect they may help
people recognize the need for serious intervention and refer them to a normal
psychologist.

4. Do you think this was a foreshadowing of LaCroix coming back as a DJ?
It could have easily been. Notice the call letters of both stations start
with a C.

5. Who is your favorite DJ and why? (Doesn't have to be FK).
There are some very good local DJs. Off the top of my head, Van and Cheryl
(in the Twin Cities on KS95), some of the guys on Cities 97 are really

Well, looking at the answers: Aren't there really any more? Sorry, can't help
you here... Any others?
Perhaps we don't like his cruel side, not even his fans? Or it's just too easy
to explain away practically everything with claiming to teach someone the outcome?

> Did we see him hurting someone without any "pedagogical"
> ulterior motive in the series?

Okay, this will get long... I do think it really is in the series.
First, I'm not really on an Anti-Lacroix crusade currently, I hardly ever think
about him, but since you asked twice for really evil stuff without any pedagogical
reasons, and the replies are dropping a little scarcely...
Hope this will not create too many hard feelings or struggles, and of course
Lacroix also has a bunch of scenes where he saved Nick from a danger (and vice
versa) and sometimes they are happy together, but you're looking
for the *bad* stuff, and you're even a Cousin, so...

*******************************************
Those are Lacroix' worst deeds for me (but checked only the first two seasons):
(Torturing the guy who looks like Lacroix' father has been mentioned already)

Anyone an idea what could be pedagogical in LC killing the nun who saved Nick in
Capital Offense???

What does he prove with framing Nick into killing the ballerina in LYtD??? If he
had wanted to get the point over that there is no purity, he should have chosen
a real whore, otherwise he only proved he's a good lier. Nick might be
surprised that she can love someone as "evil" as him, but that didn't make him
kill her. Him misunderstanding her and giving in to Lacroix' lies about her being
a whore and even recieving two "visitors" at a time, were true, did. As usual,
LC enjoyed Nick's pain and hate greatly. Sure, Lacroix wanted to get Nick back
into the fold, but this alone is hardly pedagogical, or is it???
It's LC being a little selfish... (PS: No offense to any professions intended
:)

What's the lesson in killing the archeologist woman in Faithful Followers, after
making Nick lure her there??? I can't figure it out.

Or in bringing across Daniel, the war orphan in London? Looks like LC mostly
intends him to be a toy for Janette, and sees it also as a victory over Nick,
who is devastated.

What's to be learned in Lacroix killing the Chinatown acupuncturist women in the
Cherry Blossoms flashback??? The only point he proves with that is that he will
never allow Nick to get mortal again - is that pedagogical??? Besides him having
fun at hurting Nick.

Same reason for destroying the Abbarat book in 1966 (along with the whole
library) and the Maya goblet in Dark Knight, or is there any other explanation
than LC being selfish and not wanting to let Nick find a cure??? Could Nick learn
anything else from it? If the lesson is supposed to be that there *is* no cure,
LC rather proves the opposite with his actions.

I think the main question is, whether or not it's pedagogical to force Nick back
into the fold to begin with? It doesn't help *Nick* in any way. He isn't happy
in it, he hates it, the older he gets, the more. And each of Lacroix' tricks
make him hate it yet more. Shouldn't "pedagogical" mean that something helps the
pupil rather than the teacher??? Or is it sufficient pedagogical to merely teach
Nick that Lacroix enjoys torturing him? The above incidents are hardly
"anxiety" for Nicholas.

Sorry, I didn't mean for all this to sound so provocative, but how else should
I list "evil" stuff...
