June,
I live right up the road from Hunt Valley and would love to come down and
watch the videos to show my support for FK. Do I have to pay admission to
Shore Leave in order to do this?

You know which Caddy should be flamed? The black one. Use red
and yellow paint for the flames, then there will be no problem
photographing it at night. And it would look really great!

Generally 'room temperature'- although it's still cold when it comes up from
the blood bank... but if it a large quantity, for example, a baby getting an
exchange transfusion, then the blood is run through a blood warmer to bring
it up to body temperature... or if you are working in an 'equipment

down her shirt) to warm it. Not as scientific, but you wouldn't want it cold!!

hehe, if I knew I'd be spending lots of quality time with my car (especailly

it's the rear (back passenger seat) speakers he hears.

Methinks perhaps it's because Super Nicky didn't take his super spinich
(blood) before going to face LaCroix. If I remember correctly (I haven't
seek DK in a while), Nick was hungry and LaCroix tried to tempt him with
pig's (?) blood. So he wasn't at his full vamp strength.

Thanks for the nice review, and yes, you got the title right. :-) Of course,
while his physical body is comatose, LaCroix nonetheless manages to haunt

In most convertible of that era, the rear speakers were mounted on the back
between the two rear speakers. The back wall of the seat were of light
material so the sound of the speakers were not insulated from the trunk. In
addition the back of the seats were the deck would normally be is left open
so that the convertible top would have a place to fold into when it was down.
Cars didn't come with speakers in the trunk unless they were installed after
market by some macho male.

Forever Knight, Nick Knight, and the episodes described aren't mine, they
belong to Sony/Tri-Star and no copyright infringement is intended. Thus,
anyone can archive them, but I would appreciate a link back at my FK site
(http://www.naturesong.com/raven) and credit for writing the summary.

I will only post one of these in any 24-hour period so I don't overload the
people on digest (these can get rather long).

All Knight School Episode summaries archived at

Special thanks to Billie-Lee for making this all possible (my tapes and FKC
idea), and McLisa for going along with it. Additions and corrections
welcome.

Knight School
Episode: 103 For I Have Sinned
Prerequisites: None

We open in a hotel room with a woman who obviously has just finished
spending some *serious* time with the guard of a furniture store, *in* the
furniture store. She leaves and gets into her car, putting her wedding ring
back on. She notices someone (in a mask) in her backseat who reaches for
her and she screams. Her boyfriend, guarding the store, plays around,
unaware of the carnage occurring outside. The killer rips the girls cross
off her neck, saying, "You don't deserve to wear this."

Nick arrives at the Raven, getting growled at by some guy with punk hair,
giving the famous line, "Word to the wise, immortality's no excuse not to
floss."

He finds Janette and dances with her, trying to find out if she has any
information on recent kills in the city, women, one decapitated and one
disemboweled. She doesn't care about it and teases him with her 'wine',
giving him that *look* <g>.

Schanke comes into the club, distracting him from Janette. He gives her a
playful love bite on the hand as Schanke scopes out Alma. Thankfully,
Alma's more predatory instincts are distracted by someone who removes her
from Schanke's presence.

Nick moves Schanke out of the club and warns him away. Schanke says he
could play the field, and Nick tells him he doesn't think he has it in him.
(A challenge if I ever heard one.)

They get a call and get to the crime scene. The woman is crucified on the
pavement of the parking lot, causing Nick to get all flustered. Nick
determines that she was dead before she got crucified..."Not enough blood."

Back at the coroners, Nat determines that the girl died from sheer terror
and was indeed dead before she was nailed to the pavement. She shows the
girl's crucifix to Nick and he avoids it, saying it makes him weak. Nat
reveals that she found crosses on the other two women and that they were all
Catholic.

A man (TBGW) is in a church, he enters the confessional and the priest hears
his confession. He (the priest) discovers that this person has killed the
people and tries to get him to see the folly of such actions. The bad guy
tells the priest that he plans to kill again to *purify* the church. The
priest tries to talk him out of it and the bad guy runs. When the priest
tries to catch him, he's too late.

Nick stares at a bottle of garlic pills and takes one (!). It's okay for a
second, then he freaks out, convulsing in pain. In his movements, he hits
the remote and the fire flares up. Schanke calls and tells him he's off
tonight, not to call him, and he was right about the girls being Catholic.

A short time later, Nick recovers and turns the fire off. He picks up the
evidence bag with the cross in it and stares at it. He dumps it out and
picks it up carefully by the chain, zoning him into a flashback.

He'd followed Joan of Arc on her journeys and talks with her. She is
utterly without fear, and he tries to make her his dinner. She expresses
her faith in her God and feelings of shame for Nicholas.

Interspersed with images of Nick trying to hold the cross on the chain is
the flashback of reaching for the cross in the church. In the church, his
hand catches fire, but in the present, it scorches his hand briefly, but
without flame. He intones, "Well the garlic pills are a definitely an
improvement."

The priest who heard the bad guy's confession goes to another older priest
to find out if he should tell the police, and is told that the sanctity of
the confessional is sacred; regardless of the results on the priest's
conscience.

Now at the Raven, Schanke sees Alma, who homes in on him like predator on
prey. They dance for a minute, or rather Alma dances and Schanke moves his
arms. After a few minutes, she gets him in the back, fully hypnotized.

Nick goes to the church and sees the priest. He tries to get the priest to
tell him something about the girls who were murdered, but, the old priest's
warnings still in his head, he refuses to help.

Alma's got Schanke under her spell, and starts to undress him; his coat, his
tie. Schanke has this look that he obviously does not believe what is
happening. Alma attacks his neck but is stopped by Janette's loud yell.
Schanke's spell is broken and he freaks out. Janette tells him to stay away
from Alma or else he might become a 'permanent member of the night shift'
and to 'never ever come back to this club, Mr. Schanke...'. He takes off
and the two female vampires regard each other.

Magda, a woman working at a phone sex shop, gets a phone call from the bad
guy. She gets upset and plays the tape. He says she will be consumed by
fire for her sins. Her boss lets her go so she can get herself together.

She heads home, paranoid (I would be, too). A man grabs her on a stairway.
Nick, driving around the city, happens to hear her scream and homes in on
her. He pulls his gun and the bad guy releases Magda, then he shoots Nick.
Nick cowers and tells Magda to call an ambulance, then after she leaves, he
takes off after the bad guy.

Confronting him, he discovers the guy he's chasing is the priest (Father
Rochford), not the bad guy.

In the questioning room, Nick and Stonetree are grilling the priest. He
refuses to give in, citing his faith.

Nick flashes back to Joan of Arc again, sometime later than the last time.
Joan is about to be killed, made a martyr, and Nicholas offers her
immortality; she refuses, citing her faith. She gives him her cross and
bids he remember her by it; and remember that he *can* regain his faith.

Back at the Loft, Nick and Nat are looking at Joan's cross. Nat can't
believe the cross was Joan's and Nick reiterates the tale of wanting to
bring Joan across and her refusal. He tries to get used to the cross,
because he's going to spend the next day in the church.

At the church, the sun is about to rise. Schanke calls his wife (from
guilt) and she gets mad (it's 6am). Schanke stays at the front, Nick goes
inside. He looks around the church, seeing the candles at the altar and
remembers Joan burning. The symbols of the church start to make him feel
very weak and in a fit he tries to run outside. The sun blasts him and he
cowers back in, finally settling in the priest's box in the confessional,
nice and dark.

Later, a Spanish(?) woman enters the confession and starts to confess. Nick
pretends to be asleep and she decides to say twenty Hail Mary's and let him
nap.

Schanke, outside, decides he wants to confess about his episode with Alma.
He starts his confession and Nick responds in his best Irish brogue. (A
truly funny scene.) Schanke forgets Alma's name and Nick corrects
him...after a few seconds, Schanke realizes who is on the other side of the
screen and confronts him.

Later, the priest catches Nick coming out of the confessional, and gets
really upset. Nick's feeling horrible from all the symbolism, becoming
weak. Even his vision is blurring. A few seconds later, he passes out.

At a hotel, under protective custody, Magda convinces her guard that she's
going to take a shower and sneaks out, going to the church.

Schanke sees Magda arrive and go into the church. A man arrives and gets
into the same pew as Magda, she looks and realizes he's the bad guy.

Outside, Schanke's been clubbed with something and feels a horrible ache.
He tells the others that Magda's in there, and they take off.

The guy puts Magda up on a cross and lights a torch to burn her. Nick
arrives and flies over to him, knocking him over. They fight and Nick
knocks the bad guy out, but the flames catch the kindling beneath Magda.
Nick flashes back to Joan burning, Joan's words of faith, and he jumps the
flames, rescuing Magda. (He put his coat over her eyes so she wouldn't see
him fly. <clever>)

Back at the station, Magda thanks Nick for saving her and gives him her
cross. He holds it in his hand as the priest arrives and they talk about
why the priest couldn't divulge the information; Nick says he understands.
Schanke shows up, complaining about his headache and Nat is surprised to see
Nick still has the cross in his hand, that he was able to hold it for so
long.

With the sun coming soon, Nick heads for home.

1. I didn't notice that this bad guy even had a name. What would be a good
name for him?

2. Why do zealots always think it's okay for *them* to kill?

Didn't Jean Pierre have enough problems dealing with the bullpen and his

3. If Nick hadn't have corrected Schanke, how long do you think it would

Now don't get me wrong, I just love Schanke, but.......we affectionately call
Nick "the Brick." Schanke is the one who oughta' have that name at times <g>
I don't think that in this particular instnace he would have figured it out

was quite convincing IMH Irish Opinion <g>. I agree this was a *truly* funny
scene, I loved it! And I have sometimes wondered if the Priest on the other

4. Do you think Alma still has a 'thing' for Schanke?

No, I think any good old Hot Red American.....er.......Canadian......er, oh
what the heck, anyone with good old hot red blood would have done for Alma :>)

5. Do you think Schanke "really has it in him" to cheat on Myra? (Without

Nope, not really. I think he is an "I can look but I won't touch" kinda guy,
I really like that about him as well as his obivious devotion to Myra--even
if it does get misplaced a wee bit now and then!

6. Do you think Alma would have brought Schanke over, or just taken him out
of the picture?

Taken him out of the proverbial picture for sure! Awful glad Janette (<--I
still can't believe they didn't spell her name en francais!!) saved him,
would have really messed up FK if good old Schanke had gone away just
then.....still seething that they killed him off, <ggggggggrrrrrrrrr> I love
Ben Bass/Vachon and Tracy too, just think they could have found a better way
to deal with the departure of Schanke and Captain Cohen is all <!!!!!!!!!!!!>
Better yet, keep **the whole cast** S-1 to S-3 together, it's TV, they
coulda' done it, <stamps foot> they coulda'; they coulda', they coulda!'!!!

1. I didn't notice that this bad guy even had a name. What would be a good
name for him?

2. Why do zealots always think it's okay for *them* to kill?

It's like the way evil people almost never believe they are evil. They
think that what they are doing is so absolutely right, no matter what.

Especially when religious beliefs of some sort are involved (no offense meant
to anyone here, I happen to be Christian but a *very* open-minded one) because
the bad guys are so caught up in their own principles, they ignore the fact
they are really hurting someone who doesn't deserve to be hurt. Or else they
decide that person does deserve to be hurt, and ignore the facts. They just
can't comprehend that what they are doing is wrong.

I don't like to think about things like this, but when you have to write about
the bad guys, a certain understanding of what makes them tick is necessary.

3. If Nick hadn't have corrected Schanke, how long do you think it would
have taken him to realize it was Nick behind the screen?

Hmmm . . . with Nick's over 700 years of life experience and a perfect memory
for accents, possibly never.

4. Do you think Alma still has a 'thing' for Schanke?
Who knows? Would make an interesting fanfic.

5. Do you think Schanke "really has it in him" to cheat on Myra? (Without
being hypnotized, that is) Nope, I don't think so, I think
he just got a little carried away in the moment.

6. Do you think Alma would have brought Schanke over, or just taken him out
of the picture?

Hmm . . . I don't think Alma would have brought him across, I think
she just wanted a one-night stand. This would make an interesting fanfic too.

I never saw the first movie, just a pic of the Caddy posted somewhere.

Didn't Jean Pierre have enough problems dealing with the bullpen and his
being "ultra-cool", without adding this to the mix? This would give the NK
version of Schanke one more excuse to be obnoxious.

Chinese is definitely tonal and sing-song, though you wouldn't know it from
listening to Ger in "Cherry Blossoms" at one point he said what basically
means "hello, how are you?" in Mandarin (Nih how mah), but said it with
absolutely no inflection whatsoever. Took me the longest time to figure out
what he was trying to say.
