Subject: What if Nick Found a Cure?

If Nick had actually found a cure in "The Fix" how would the other
characters have reacted? And how would it have changed their long-term
relationships with him? Nat, Schanke, LaCroix and Janette basically all
knew him only as a vampire (even though Schanke didn't know that) so how
would they have had to accommodate themselves to his new existence?

I think LaCroix would have let him alone for a while just out of disgust,
but then would have realized how much he missed him. But would he have
brought him back across against his will? I don't know.

I think Nat would have eventually lost interest in him because I think he
would have stopped challenging her both intellectually and emotionally.

I think Janette would be the only one to keep long term contact on Nick's
terms.

Schanke would have enjoyed teaching him the joys of eating souvlaki :-)

Subject: Blitzing for the Knight: June 12th-24th

Hi!

It looks like these blitzes we have been doing are getting some attention!
So we at KtK, are going to turn them into a monthly routine. This month we
are focusing on the two main powers, Tristar and Sci-fi.

Its going to be a double dose of e-mails from each of you the fans that
would love to not only have FK back on Sci-fi's schedule, but want to make
sure everyone knows that we are want more FK with the original cast in new
episodes and or movies!! So, what do you say? Are you ready to sit down,
take that few minutes and send off two e-mails? It could make all the
difference in the world!

Remember, say a little or say a lot, but say it!! We can make more FK
happen!!!

June 12th, through June 24th, we are asking everyone to blitz both
feedbacks!!! For the two weeks, you can re-use the e-mails you did before,
or write new ones. They can be long, or as short as just saying, "Bring Back
Forever Knight."

ALSO REMEMBER!! Sci-fi will be changing its schedule around in June, and
again in the fall.... lets make sure that we get Forever Knight on!!!

Sci-Fi's E-mail: feedback@w.......

Sony/Tristar Mail Form: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

When e-mailing TriStar,(especially) give as much personal info as you
can...rather than just an e-mail name. A bit more personal carries more
weight with TPTB.

I also made a button/banner for the upcoming blitzing, which you can use to
help spread the word, by putting this on your site (you can get off my save
fk page).

Long Live the Knight!

Honestly, I think that being a vampire was a part of Nick's reality, and
that he would probably continue to feel invincable (which, they say on
'Cops' is what makes a good cop, I found that pretty funny...wow, then Nick
must be a great cop, because he *knows* he's invincable), and maybe do
something he's used to doing after 800 years, like go after some killer, and
get himself shot dead within a week...or...he would become frightened of
death itself and try to hide from it.

As for how they would react to them:

I think Janette would refuse to have anything to do with him, either out of
the fact that if she did she might accidently kill him, or out of disgust
that he was right in the end, he'd found his cure.

I think LaCroix would leave him alone - I mean, he's been completely
rejected, at least that's how he'd feel. Then, when Nick was dying
(whenever that might be), he would show up and gloat about Nick's pain and
'failure' and probably offer to take him back.

I think he and Nat would get together, but I also think the enforcers would
show up and 'ruin the party' and perhaps whammy them into forgetting.

Oh, and if I were Nick and I suddenly became mortal, I would go on every
quiz show I could find. Most of those questions are history, and he's lived
through most of it. Give them a real run for their money. He'd wipe that
smile right off Ben Stein's face... :o)

Apologies to those who are still waiting for their copy of
ON HOLY GROUND to arrive. The PO is apparently sending
our little novel by *verrrrrrrrry* slow truck to some places. It is
only now arriving in many east coast (US) cities.

All the books pre-ordered before May 9th were mailed out
on the 10th. If you ordered prior to that date and haven't yet
received the book, please let me know (off list) at JeanB7@aol.
com. And if you haven't seen OHG by June 7, we will assume
that some postal worker somewhere is enjoying his/her coffee
break with a purloined copy of our FOREVER KNIGHT novel, and
we'll send you a replacement.

If you ordered the book after May 10 and you live on the east coast,
please give our poor pitiful postal system a solid 4 weeks to deliver.
Apparently, they can't whip the carrier elephants into moving any
faster without getting into hot water with PETA.

Thanks for your patience, and I hope those who *have* received
the book have enjoyed it.

Molly asked:

I can answer this one, having a copy of it on my shelf -- the first part by
Guillaume
de Lorris was written in the first half of the 13th century (yep, just about the
time
frame of our favorite angsty vamp) and the second part by Jean de Meung was
completed in
the latter half of the 13th century. Although I read and studied this work
before I
ever saw a single ep of FK, I can't help but think of Nick & Co. everytime I
open up the
book! Hmm... I wonder if Nick actually knew Guillaume de Lorris? On second
thought,
given the darker tone of the second part of the book, it's more likely that he
knew Jean de Meung!

BTW, welcome back Molly! We've missed you!

I didn't believe it myself when I stumbled over it.
But low and behold, Lisa Ryder's back in a new series
with Kevin Sorbo (of the Hercules fame) in "Gene
Roddenberry's Andromeda". There's a few other cast
members I recognize from other series and guest
starring roles.

Anyway, the site is www.andromedatv.com so all you
Lisa Ryder fans (and Kevin Sorbo fans) can check it
out for yourself (me, I'd take a look at it for Lexa
Doig myself) <g>

Wasn't there a story written by.... lessee... I think it was Jamie Melody
Randell that actually had something to do with this? About Nick finding a cure
and then getting shot because he went after a felon and just forgot that he
wasn't invinceable anymore?

If Nick found a cure, what would happen if he tried to eat? I mean, I think it
would be kind of like when you break an arm or a leg -- you can't use it until
it's healed, and then most times you have to go through some sort of therapy to
be able to get the full usage of that part again. Well, Nick hasn't really
eaten much of anything solid in 800 years, so where would that leave him?

On a more comical note... do you think he'd forget and try drinking any of the
blood that is in the bottles (if he forgot to remove them from the refigerator,
of course)? Or even try biting someone to draw blood? I'm having some very
humorous images of that running through my head -- he's bitten Natalie, and she
just gives him a good slap to the face. He's thinking 'what did I do?' and
she's thinking 'what an idiot'...

OK, it's time for me to go back to LurkerLand where I belong, and back to
BeddyByeLand since that's where I was initially.

Track down a copy of THE FIX (I think that is the name and I
think it is a first season episode)
Nick finds what appears to be a cure and starts to become
mortal. There is a very funny scene where he attacks a plate of
spagetti(?) in an Italian restaurant and basically is quite swept
away by the experience.

For some reason, I am thinking of the time he tried to eat french fries
in, oh now I've forgotten the name of *that* episode! You know which
one I am talking about, don't you all? The one where he goes to the
alcoholics anonymous-like meetings and admits he has a problem? That
one.

That would be "Dying for Fame." But it was a dream in this one, and the
fries ended up reminding him too much of blood when he applied ketchup, so
he didn't eat any. (I think this scene might've been intended for Feeding
the Beast, but they couldn't fit it in, so they aded it to the DFF

Hrm! I could have sworn it was in "Feeding the Beast" (now that the name was
typed, I remember! Thanks for that little reminder!), because it had the
woman in it who was one of the attendees at the AA-like meetings. I remember
him eating them, and she was surprised that he liked them so much... I'll
have to dig the tapes out of the box I packed them in for moving so that I can
watch that part again. Perhaps I'm wrong, though... it's been a while since
I've seen them. Heck, it's been a while since I've had TIME to see them!

*missing* it the way he now misses being mortal. Not to mention the achy

In Feeding the Beast he does go eat fries with Monica (same place as the DFF
dream too) but they don't actually show him eat any. That's when he comes
back and Nat notices his cheeks are rosier. He was able to get some down
when he was with Monica.

There were actually 2 scenes:
- in "Feeding the Beast, Nick meets the woman from the 10 step program
in a diner, and he eats a french fry.
- in "Dying for Fame", there is the dream scene, which is in the same
diner. In his dream, Nick takes Natalie to the diner, and orders all kinds
of fast food. However, the dream turns into a nightmare when the ketsup
turns out to be blood, all the guests suddenly have bload-soaked clothes
on, and later transform into vampires, and the cook and waitress
turn out to be LaCroix and Janette. It does look as if the scene was
  made for "Feeding the Beast."

Hope this helps you!

I think Nick's major barrier to mortality (other than finding a cure)
is that LaCroix is so totally possessive of Nick that he can never let
him go.

As a proponent of the mortal love scenario, I would hope not, but I
don't know. I like to believe that Nick has charisma, charm, and a
fascinating complexity apart from his vampire persona and that this
would continue to draw Natalie to him.

What if Nick found a cure?

Well, I hate to say it, but the Enforcers would probably take care of him in
short order, if LaCroix didn't do it first.

But barring that, he'd probably propose to Natalie, and she'd accept, on
condition that she gets to redecorate the loft. Nick would find himself
knee-deep in Laura Ashley florals and beat feet back to LaCroix begging to be

Actually, despite the fact that he'd be mortal, he would still have no *proof*
that vampires exist. He's more of a threat to tell the world about them as a
*vampire* because he *is* the proof.

If your ordinary average police detective tried to tell people vampires exist,
he'd probably be locked up, or be given his looney papers and retired.

Just my .02 that the enforcers would *not* go after Nick if he became mortal.
