Subject: Gary Farmer sighting

_Henry and Verlin_, starring Gary Farmer, will be shown on Trio, tonight at
9 p.m. Eastern (April 1). Set in Depression-era Ontario, an autistic
boy and his uncle become friends. Farmer composed and plays "Henry's
Harmonica".
A sweet film, well-done. I highly recommend it.

Okay...I'm bored. And procrastinating. And lacking sleep. And reading too
many Award nominations at once.
(..LaCroix isn't going to be the only one sporting red eyes...mmphff)

What kind of Elvis songs would our vampires be singing?

I can't claim to be 'up' on Elvis' music, but:

Nick: Heart Break Hotel
Perry: I Ain't Nothin But A Hound Dog
Natalie: Love Me Tender

Those are the only songs I can think of.
Anyone else?

Too bad they didn't show Nat's memories.

I'm annoyed that we learned more about Tracy in one season than we did about
Nat in three.

I'm not sure whose memories those were. I haven't watched LK since the first
airing.

I saw an interview with Nigel on "Bynon" here in Canada this week, and I
believe he said he plays one of the elder members of the "fraternity" in
that movie.

I am sure he will be awesome!

Nick to any neck of the week:

Cant' help falling in love. (or is it called fools rush in?)

Wise men say:
Only fools rush in.
But I can't help falling in love with you.

Come to think of it, this should be the unofficial song for most FK
Characters. It nicely fits with most relationships.

Nick and LaCroix (or vice versa)
Nick and Janette.
Nat and Nick.
Tracy and Vachon.
Vachon and Urs.

How many of our beloved FK Characters "Rushed In" to a relationship?
And how many more "Can't help" falling in Love?
It seems to me like the two mortals on my short list fall in the can't help
category. They know what they're in for, but they can't help but fall. While
most of the vamps rushed into an ill conceved or unwanted relationship. Or
one that led to unhappiness for one of them due to their lack of foresight.

I got a little deeper than I planned with that one.

The Fix aired in the middle of the 1994-1995 season, and I'm 99% certain that
it aired after 1/1/1995.

Hi! Does anyone happen to know about a site that at some point someone did a
very detailed list of what was included
in what version (CBS/Canadian1st/US syndication/German/USA/Scifi)? It showed
what was in Canadian and not U.S. and more. Susan Garrett told me about it
but doesn't remember where it is or if it still exists. Does anyone happen
to have a text copy somewhere? Any help would be *greatly* appriciated.

Thanks!!

As per Kyer's idea of Andrew with fangs:

Judy wrote: I can see both Nat and Janette being attracted to him.

I can see Tracy being attracted to Andrew, making Vachon realized just how
much he really does care for her. A truly jealous Vachon could make for a
very interesting story.

Subject: The LK Bite (was Re: Fangs like a snake)

I was looking at Siri's webpage photos of LK. If they are all
in order as I've listed them, I think the order of the fbs is
very interesting.

 1. Nick biting Sylvaine, the dancer he put on a pedestal.

Might this be an indication that Nick had placed Nat on a
similar pedestal?

 2. Nick trying to bring his wife Alyssa across.

This could be interpreted in several ways:
1) Nick is showing he loves Nat enough to marry her.
2) Nick is wondering if his love for Nat might be of the
less pure type (he did get involved with Alyssa after
   Janette left him, after all).
3) Nick is being tempted to bring Nat across.

 3. Nick succumbing to his thirst when trying to rescue the
    honey and wine girl.

Nick has good intentions but is being overcome by the taste
of Nat's blood (or Nat tastes like honey and wine :) ).

 4. Nick leaping over fire (to get to Alyce in DK?).

Nick trying to rescue Nat.

 5. Next pic too dark to identify.

What is this pic of, Siri?

 6. Nick after LC has gotten a rise out of him in DK.

Nick feeling that he can't suppress the vampire.

 7. Nick and LC from ?

I can't make a determination of this pic without some idea of
where it's from.

 8. Nick trying the Frankenstein cure.

Nick being drawn back to the idea that this is a *cure* for
vampirism that he is trying with Nat.

 9. Nick in wide white collar from ?

Again, I can't decide what to make of this shot without knowing
where it's from.

10. Passed out Nick in Tracy's arms after being shot in NiQ.

This is a curious choice. Was Nick aware of Tracy holding him
even though he was passed out? Is Nick wishing for the amnesia
he had then to wipe out the vampiric lust he is feeling?

11. Nick about to "possess" by biting Amalia from Crazy Love.

Nick is falling further into his vampiric desire to possess Nat
completely (through draining her blood).

12. Nick riding his horse in daylight from Queen of Harps.

Nick grasping for his lost mortality?

13. LC vamped out (in loft?)

Nick can't get away from the idea that he's been imprisoned by
LC's vampirism; he feels that they are too alike.

14. Nick reaching his hand toward the big cross in the fb
    of FIHS.

Nick reaching for the faith that Nat has, but fearing it.

15. Nick staking LC with flaming stake in DK.

Nick trying to kill the vampire in himself.

16. Nick kissing Janette right after he is brought over in ND.

Could be:
1) Nick showing his love the way he has been accustomed to doing.
2) Nick equating either his greatest love (or lust) for Janette
with what he is feeling for Nat.
3) Nick focusing on his initial mistake in being brought across.

Then, of course, this series of scenes could also be viewed as
something of a "tug of war" between Nick and Nat. The scenes of
Nick trying cures, being mortal, etc. could be Nat's attempts to
try to keep Nick focused on the idea of the "cure" they are
attempting. Nick's "lapses" are his natural vampiric instincts
overcoming restraint.

Another take could be that Nat wanted to finally *know* as much
as she could of what Nick had held back from telling her. Or
Nick might have wanted to show *her* his life.

Although I came to dislike Nat by third season, I didn't like the
way the writers made her feel fear in this biting scene. I never
thought Nick and Nat should be more than friends as long as Nick
was a vampire because of the danger of just such a scene as LK
shows occurring.
