Subject: fan fic survey

A friend of mine is conducting a survey concerning fanfic. She's a Forever
Knight fanfic writer, and has archived some stories at her websites,
including my own. I think this survey is important enough that I'm
forwarding along the url. I know fanfic is EXTREMELY popular, but often the
authors don't hear feedback until they are not longer writing it out of
frustration, or their fanfic website is taken down. Besides, the survey, I
thought, was rather fun. So pop over to:

  http://users.lanminds.com/~callalily/fkfic/index.html

It only takes a minute or so (I swear!)

Forever Knight fan fic is playing a big part in keeping the show alive in the
hearts of fan. I can thank of several examples I've heard where people were
introduced to the show through fan fiction. In many cases I've heard fans
who thought the show (along with its fandom) was dead were overwhelmed with
delight to find out how much fan fic and how many fans are out here.

Write for the Knight! (this section is for snail mail writers! (very
important to keep doing!)

Let’s redouble our efforts and really let "The Powers That Be" know that we
want more Forever Knight! The main idea is to be honest. Tell them your age,
where you live, how long you've been watching Forever Knight and how much
you'd like to see it back on TV. Do not, however, put anything on the
envelope that might indicate you are a FK fan or are writing about the show.
These letters are often considered "fannish" and you run the risk of being
ignored.Be business-like...explain why you're writing and why you think it
will be profitable to have the show back in production. Tell them what kind
of Forever Knight merchandise you have bought, and what you would like to
buy. BUT TELL THEM YOU WANT MORE FOREVER KNIGHT!

The Valentine Petition is over, but will be continued as a monthly petition.
Each month Susan Ellen Field (KTK) will be sending this in to important

just spread the word to others who have not. Also, if you have a FK page
please feel free to help by posting the new banner I made on your pages.

climbing up to the top fast! Please keep up the voting everyone, and
remember you can go back to renew your votes. Try to strive to be a High

There is another way to show TPTB how much you would like the FK
returned....

Thought Up By wonderful devoted fans such as yourselves.....

It's called "Operation Postcard Overload" as was told to Susan Field, "When
we all send letters to Sci-Fi/USA, we get postcards back, so why not send
postcards to them?" Its easy! Postcards are everyplace! How about postcards
representing the places you live? England, Austrailia, Germany, USA, all the
different states......
FK fans are all over the globe! Lets show TPTB that the World wants it
back!!!

Send the cards to:

Write everyone! E-mail's a quick, easy way! Spend that hour, you'd normally
be watching FK writing a letter(s) to Sci-fi at this address:

feedback@w.......

Why don't we make this a daily thing? Every day when Forever Knight should
be on at its time slot we e-mail Sci-fi about putting it back. Just a
thought, but if we ALL do it, it may just help get them to notice us,
especially if they start getting tons of e-mail at that hour.

This is where the Sci Fi channel personell go to address
programming issues
and to hear what fans have to say. One way to get some attention is to hit
that board with posts about how much we want FK back AND how much we want it
to stay running in the mean time. We can post new messages, even sign a post
there like we did with post 1000. One note however is that new posts are
saved alphabetically on that board so a new original post to the board will
not appear exactly at the bottom of the last page (just remember that).
Arcblade has already started a post there that we can all "sign" or drop a
note to detailing that we want Sci-Fi to sink its teeth into an effort to
revive the show AND to keep running the re-runs in the meantime. The post
strand is at:

I wish I remembered a lot more of my dreams... especially if they are wacky.
(It's rather annoying to know that your subconscious is having all sorts of
fun without you.)
I seem to remember the angsty dreams real well, though...

[seen 3rd person] Nick was running away from an unknown vampire who turned
out to be...himself. This intrigued me so much that I'm actually
incorporating some of the idea into my fic.

Anybody else have a dream that inspired you to write or change an already

Yes, very much so. I had a dream only a week ago that made me start writing a
story immediately. Well, I've done 23 pages as of now and I'm still inspired. I
don't think I've ever been this obsessed over a story.

You'll see the result on a ficlist near you in the future, watch for

The weirdest FK dream I ever had may sound kind of R rated, but believe me it
wasn't or I wouldn't post it here! LOL!

Anyway, in it, I was stretched out across my bed fully clothed, and Screed,
also fully clothed, was chewing on my big toe. If that wasn't weird enough,
the front door opens and then my mother enters my room. (What makes this even
weirder to me is that my parents NEVER enter my house without knocking, plus
I normally have the door latched)

My mother gets this unbelievably stunned look on her face (well, who wouldn't
if they walked in and Screed was chewing on their daughter's big toe).

In the dream, I look up at my mother and say something, perfectly calmly,
along the lines of, "It's okay, Mom, he only slurps rats."

I'm betting that the deep seated meaning behind this dream is that it is okay
for someone to chew on your big toe as long as the main part of their diet is
rats.

Are you kidding, I get some of my best ideas for fan fiction through my
dreams. But last night took the cake, I dreamt that I picked up the morning
newspaper, and there was an article that said that the fane have brought
back the vampire show of Forever Knight again. Waking up was such a
disappointment.

That would depend on the loved one in reference to. Of course the car is
worth quite a bit on the classic car market., say $35,000 to $50,000 if
you've got the money.  So it would be a tough decision. {he-he-he  LOLROTF}

Yup, the lower mainland and Vancouver Island are the
mildest in Canada. Schanke would not have *any* snow to
shovel, and Nick wouldn't have to worry about pretending
the cold bothered him. It was 9 degrees (that's about 49 F)
here today, the crocuses are starting to come up, and there
are blossoms on the (outdoor) cherry trees in the Dr. Sen
Yatsun gdns..... Of course 20 min from downtown you can go
skiing too. We've had about 5 days of snow, with no more
than 2" each day.
Everyone else (in Canada) laughs when I tell them I mowed
my lawn on Christmas day.

Is it just me or is the music in "The City" mostly Forever Knight Music?
I mean, if the characters are in a bar or in a club they have FK Club
music playing. There was a scene a few weeks ago and I swear they were
playing: "Touch The Night" or something, and now, when I'm watching
tonight's episode, the beginning starts off with that other FK Club
song... Then when the intense scenes come, it sounds like intense scene
music from FK..

Does anyone know where all this music is from?

Do you mean kills by biting or ordinary killing? Someone once
tried to total the vampire kills, but I don't know if that person
is still on this list or not. I don't know the answer.

>While I am at it, by consensus (other than LK for being the last) which is

I don't know if you'll really get a *consensus* since that would
mean a lot of people would pick the same episode. Leaving out LK,
the only episode I hated was Father's Day, which tried to reduce
the relationship between Nick and LC to just father and son (imo).

I wish I could assume that LK is a dream sequence. It seemed

being Nick's dream.
