Right before 3-2-1 Contact where I lived (and sometimes before Sesame
Street, sometimes after, heck Sesame Street was on more than twice a day) and
as I remember (the blue something-or-other), it must have continued
untill... 16 years ago (no acurate memories have been proven to exist
before age 3 and I'm 19, so...) (hey! Cognitive Psychology actually came
in handy! <grin>)

(A bit off of the topic here: but, in Cog. Psych. we learned that no
information is ever really lost from our long term memories; it's just
that we can no longer readily access it. As it was put: "We never forget,
we just loose the remembering of it". I heard that, and thought of this
group.)
<pause>
(Okay, that was enough sentimentality, back to the topic)

Anyway, I also remember Bunnicula... Also, James Howe did some dectective
stories with a young kid. The first one involved a mysterious ghost... For
some reason, when I went back and read the description I thought of
Janette. <shrug> Only, would Janette be caught... well, caught in white?

ObFK: Nick walking through a field of cows singing the different names of

     Hi ALL!

Happy 4th of July. Yeah, I know it's early but I'm going to be busy
next week and won't have have much chance to post (back to Lurking...)

Is anyone on the List going to DexCon? It is in NJ (Somerset, NJ to
be exact!) at the Doubletree Hotel. I know of a bunch of local (as in
they live near the Con) Forever Knight fans who will be there. As far
as I have seen in their program book, they don't have anything
SPECIFICALLY for FK fandom but have LOTSof vampire stuff (an entire
trackof the Con programming is on vampires!) so I guess it'll be up to
us to get the panalists to acknowledge FK (vbg>

Also - they will have a live-action vampire game at the Con. I'm
going to be in it (as a Judge) and if any List members intend to go to
the Con, or want info on it, Email me offlist, okay?

OBFK: Soem nonList member friends of mine are going to Shore Leave in
July and they are (supposedly) going to be armed with what is needed
to bring across as many new people as possible! They wanted me to go
with them but I'm doing DexCon (both Cons are on the same weekend
     <Grr!>) I would have gone! I *love* new blood....<veg>

I don't have a tape of that one, and I can't remember if that's the ending,
or if the ending is the scene where Nick, after apparently learning some
things about his life from Natalie, then goes to LaCroix to learn more.
It's short, but it's a really cool scene, which no doubt Tippi and I will
interpret completely differently <g>. Anyway Tippi, do you have the scene
where Nick goes to LC and says something like, "I want to learn _all_ that I
am." I really liked that scene. It looked to me like an indication of the
affection that Nick does have for LaCroix, and also an indication of Nick's
very mixed feelings about himself. He wants to know about himself, but he's
also afraid of what he's going to hear.

BTW, when I first saw the "enemies" monologue, I thought LC was referring
to everyone in general. The second time, I thought he might be referring
specifically to Natalie. He might see her as an enemy, since she's trying
to help Nick regain mortality, and if Nick regains mortality, then LaCroix
will lose him.

The Electric Company was discontinued years ago. 3-2-1 Contact was designed
to fill the same niche.

So that was Morgan Freeman?! I had no idea, since at the time the show was
on, I wasn't aware of him. He's so wonderful in SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. I was
taken aback to discover that Red, a redheaded Irishman in the novella, was to
be played by a black actor, but the first sentence out of Freeman's mouth, I
knew that he WAS the character. One of the best adaptations of a Stephen
King book ever filmed.

What Dylan Thomas poem IS that? I loved it when I heard it on BEAUTY AND THE

in the library when I happen to be there. The title would be a help in
finding the whole poem, if I should dig up a D. Thomas collection. Thanks.

Lisa, I know you mean well. Thank you for trying to get this cleared up!
But--

There is *no* "Gaelic" language! Gaelic is the root language of Manx,
Irish, and Scots Gaelic. It is itself a decendant of Celtic, but it is
*not* a live language! And if you speak Irish to a Scot, chances are they
won't understand you--the languages are too different, they have evolved too
far apart to be interchangable.

Was it Outside the Line where the flashbacks are to, apparently, Nazi
Germany? I am thinking of the ep where there is a crazy-bad cop that Nick
eventually busts, the bad-cop is undercover narco squad and throws one
particular suspect over the top of the roof? Anyway, the ep w/the
flashbacks to Germany is the one I'm thinking of insofar as Nick speaks
German in the flashbacks.... There is also the ep (and I can't place it's
name for certain, either) where Nick and LC meet a young Hitler on a train
and debate whether to bring him
across..,.......aughaughaughaugh.......thankfully, decide against it....
But they also speak German in that ep/flashback.

Anybody can clarify?

Subject: FK CD in STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-)

Hi!
YES!!!!!! I FOUND IT!!!!!!!!! AFTER MONTHS OF HOUNDING THE CLERKS AT SAM
GOODY AND HMV AND BARNES AND NOBLES AND ANY OTHER MUSIC STORE IN MANHATTAN I
FOUND AND BOUGHT THE FK CD
<slap>OK, I'm calm now! <yippee!!!!!>
I've been trying to buy the CD ever since it came out, but I've been
thwarted by my lack of an acceptable credit card (Crescendo does not take
American Express) I even applied for a VISA card just for the purpose of
buying the CD....Anyways, in the meantime I've been asking for the CD at
almost any music store in NY, only to be told that it does not exist (Sam
Goody had the audacity to say they get _every_ new release, so it would not
pay for me to ask them to order it because they never heard of it) Anyhow,
last night I was coming home from a client and I passed RECORD EXPLOSION and
on impulse decided to go in and ask them, positive that they would give me
the same blank look I've been getting for months now. Amazingly enough, the
clerk pulls out the CD for me. I almost hit the ceiling, I was floating so
high. I had presence of mind to ask for more than one, but they said that
was all they had. At my look of dimay, the clerk said "Well, from these
independent companies we only order one piece 'cuz we aren't able to return
it to the company. It's not like it's a *Madonna* CD" I was tempted to set
them straight, but they were practically locking up the store by now so I
paid for it. Before I left I tried to ask if they had a cassette as well -
in my euphoria I had forgotten to ask! but they said they were closed and
couldn't answer any more questions. Oh well. Here I was, with my long sought
after CD - and no way to listen to it. I though I was going to burst with
the anticipation. I have a CD player at work, but none at home
A-A-A-R-G-H!!!!!!! So the first thing I did when I got to work was pop it in
- and in the process I discovered that another co-worker is a HUGE fan of
the show, and did not know it was cancelled (he had not seen Last Knight,
lucky fellow!) (Malya - I'm talking about Little Isaac - who knew? :-) So,
anyways, I'm listening to the CD as we speak; another co-worker is so
intrigued with the music he keeps hitting play! (now I'm talking about
Martin) He says it's way cool, really ominous stuff. I totally agree - I
love every selection. And the monologues -- oooooh. Definitely gr8 stuff.
Hey merchandise people: I WOULD BUY ANOTHER 5 CD's LIKE THIS IN A HEARTBEAT
(that's what, once every ten seconds? :-))

Sorry for the incoherency (and the waste of bandwidth) - I'm still too keyed
up with excitement to make any sense (I've had this huge silly-grin on my
face ever since last night) but I just had to share it with y'all
So, for those of you in NYC I purchased it at the RECORD EXPLOSION off of
42nd and Fifth avenue. They won't have any more today, (they only had one
last night) but if you ask, I'm sure they could get more - I plan on going
back there to inquire about cassettes - I'm already so addicted I don't know
how I'll last without it over the weekend.

Yep, you got it right. They thought that Giroux was a traitor. Nick kills
him "Traitors must die!" but then he sees the sister coming from the

if he's sure she was a traitor because what better way to find out the

speaking French in the flashback. I'll have to rewatch it to see where
exactly it takes place and what language he speaks.

I think this was Jane Doe. This one they do speak German in.

Hi Ron! <(wave, wave>,

Just thought I'd pass on for your non-list, Shore Leave-attending friends
that there WILL be an FK room party, at SHORE LEAVE! (Room availability
confirmed. Details under construction.)

Sounds like there may be quite a gang! Please ask them to contact me
(I'll send you my phone/vox under private email), if they'd like, so we
can know where/when to rendezvous; and get an idea as to when is best
time/day for the FKering. Lynne's original Shore Leave-bound group are
coming down from New York (and other places?), and there are some local
folks interested, among others.

Sounds like we'll have enough to staff a petition signing (all weekend?),
flyer distributing, etc. TABLE in the hall (I'll check w/SHORE LEAVE
PTB for permissions, etc.). I can make lots of flyer copies, and hand
out surveys for offline folks to fill out at the con.

I can also create a petition, to gather quick signatures (SONY needs
numbers, proof? We'll GET numbers proof!)

EVERYONE...........
Anyone have suggestions for the content of a generic, US/Canada petition;
the purpose of which is for gathering thousands, upon thousands of
signatures, proving to SONY who/where/THAT WE ARE?

The obvious stuff, of course:
--name, address, age (petitions MUST be accountable to be accepted).
--Address info on SOS-FK & a brief blurb from the webage or flyer (right?)

WHAT ELSE?
--first show/season seen?
--watching/able to get now?
--age?
--Neilson customer?

FK VETERANS.........
Has this been done before? Recently? Any sage advice? Shall we do this?
(B5 folks did it at Syndicon East. Why can't we --within the niceties of
a Con, of course?) Anyone interested or available in being the central
repository of signed petitions? To whom would we present the many,
many pages to SONY? Who should do the presenting?

Petitions could be processed at cons all Summer, etc. and whereever
there's a group.

Thx for the info, Ron!

Hi,
I just had a thought the other day, which may or may not have been brought
up before. The one piece of FK merchandise that I would love is dolls. You
know the porcelain dolls they sell at specialty shops and on the Home
Shopping Network. Nick in his crusader outfit from QoH or his military
outfit from Father Figure. LC in a toga or in that German trenchcoat & hat
outfit from OtL. Janette in anything, of course. There would be a special
plaid-skirted Janette doll for FoD's. :) :) Nat would come in two models
You could get Nat wearing a standard white coat and office outfit with a
real leather doctor's bag or the StF flashback Nat. Schanke would come in
two models as wll. There would be LC Schanke from the StF flashback and
Moose Pajama Schanke from KI. I can't figure out the rest of the
characters, though.

Until next time,

I believe the flashback takes place in France, and Nick is working with
the French Resistance. That explains why they're speaking French but why
there are Nazis around.

Hi All!

This is my first post to Forkni as a representing member of the Cousins of
the Knight Faction. Yes, we are an official faction not just another private
loop. AND we have topics suitable for discussion on the open list where
children may be lurking (Ouch, Tia I didn't mean to say you are a 'child',
now stop that tantruming...)

We are a small (but growing!) group who believe that the N&LC bond is a
strong complex one, worthy of the same attention as all the other FK
pairings.
We explore every bond but the one for Unnamed Faction. That means all topics
covering the father/son/brother/master/slave/protege/friend/enemy bonds.
LOTs of stuff to talk about here! We've got over 800 years of history!

I'll throw this out at everyone as I am very interested in seeing what people
think...
Just what did LC see in Nick so that he made sure to bring him across? He
didn't have Jenette do it, which probably would have made more sense as she
was the one seducing Nick. A little love bite..now what man would have
noticed at a time like that?!
Instead, LC makes his grand entrance and gives us that line: "We're going to
be friends for a long long time..."

Okay everyone, what do you think?

Just wondering if the rather seductive "I can give you eternal

enjoying one's vampire nature. It would seem to to me, but then again, I'm
not really up on where this thread's been going.
BTW, off-topic, I didn't think Electric Company was that old
cause I could swear I remembered watching it as a kid and I'm only 18
(which I can't see as being old in anyone's mind).

In NiQ, I think Natalie says, "You usually drink cow's blood," and in AMPH,
I think there's something said about cow's blood. Does anyone know? There's
a scene in AMPH where LaCroix is drinking blood from Nick's fridge
(apparently) and says, "I suppose the palate could get used to this." So
it isn't human blood. Anything from first season?

Along the same lines though, in Blackwing, Natalie says to Nick, "You drank
three quarts of donated plasma, for breakfast." Any theories on how come
Nick had donated plasma around all of a sudden?

Actually, I think the flashbacks in that ep are set in occupied France.
Nick is working with a French resistance group, and they speak French to
one another. The flashback from this ep sure introduced a couple of major
continuity glitches, didn't it? 1) Nick kills not one, but two people
(after claiming in previous eps that he hadn't killed anyone in the last
hundred years or so); 2) Contrary to what Lacroix said, if
spoiler-protected revelations from Francesca were true, Nick should have
known easily whether or not Marie-Claire was the traitor. Are the
continuity glitches the reason people hate this ep so much? There's a lot
of things I like about the ep, but then I'll take FK any way I can get it.

In her excellent "What is a War?" posting a couple of weeks
ago, Susan Garrett made passing reference to a drink she had
run across at a fan convention called a "Flaming Mountie."
She says she recalls it as containing Ribena, cranberry juice,
and amaretto.

Does anyone have the exact recipe for this or other Ribena-
based mixed drinks (with or without alcohol)?

I'm selflessly willing to experiment if no one knows the
exact proportions. :-)

Thanks!

One at a time seems to be typical (arghhh!) but at least it's there.
Calling all listmembers in AUSTIN, TEXAS -
Tower Records near the University has one copy.
Blockbuster Music on Burnet has one copy.
If you get there before me, they're yours. And I live on the south side
of town, so you probably will get there before me.
Blockbuster Music on Research has one copy on order and told me they'll
put more on order.
Blockbuster Music at 9312 N. Lamar says they will order it. The other
Blockbuster on N. Lamar doesn't answer their phone.
Blockbuster Music on S. Lamar says they will order it.

I told everyone at the record stores how popular Forever Knight is in Austin,
and that they should order more copies, so go buy them! It would help if
over the next few days, everyone calls all the stores and ask about the CD,
so they know there's lots of us out here. Unfortunately, some of these folks
have never heard of FK, so you might need to tell them it's Forever Knight
spelled with a "K" or they'll tell you they don't have it.
