I got some advance publicity material for Darkman III: Die Darkman Die and
Nigel is in it. There was a picture of him shooting a gun in the flyer. It
is a direct to video movie from MCA/Universal and should hit the stores on
August 20th. If I get a screener I'll report to the list about his role, etc.

Someone call my name? :D I have done just this, typed out all the lyrics to
the four Raven songs on the CD. And I have sent these twice to Fred Mollin,
who has graciously agreed to edit these for accuracy (I'm glad to be able to
say Fred thought what I had was "very close") and then send them back to me
for posting to the list. He said he had no time himself to type the lyrics
out.

Well, Fred's been a busy man! He's been working on a movie and an album.
Hopefully with a little more reminding (and my usual outrageous flattery -
oh, hi, Fred, I really do mean to heap praises on you!!!) I will have these
from Fred soon and I'll post them to the list pronto.

Speaking of Fred, he will be making a return visit to the Knight Watch Chat
on AOL this coming Monday, June 10, at 11 pm ET! Because of the numbers of
people in the room, I'm asking that any questions for Fred be either send to
me beforehand to scfimarci@a....... or sent during the chat by Instant
Message. I'll type the questions to the screen for Fred to answer one at a
time. That way we don't overwhelm our favorite music director/composer and
we don't have repeat questions.

And I'm sure that the subject of the Raven lyrics will be coming up during
the chat... ;D

Subject: Re: more about The Relationship

Without quoting all of Tippi's marvelous post, I think I can summarize with
one quote:
> Are they playing with our heads or what?

The biggest problem in this area is that each writer, each director, and
each actor goes into the episode at hand with their own opinions. While we
can expect that each episode written be Gillian Horvath or each episode
directed by Jon Cassar will have consistancy, episode X, written and directed
by people who would be Nick&NatPackers if they were on the list, and episode
Y written and directed by people who would be Unnamed Factioners, would have,
at the very least, different focuses for Nick erotic thoughts.
The actors would tend to be "the sum of the parts" with each episode.
GWD would *probably* have loudly protested any first season script which
called for him to hug and kiss LaCroix, but it might have been completely in
character for him to do so after certain events in AtA that I can't talk
about here.
Similarly, an erotically suggestive scene between Tracy and Vachon might
have been believable at any time in the 3rd season, but I doubt that it would
have been in character for either of them to have said "I love you", at least
until after "Fever", and then only for Tracy. (I doubt that Vachon has ever
said the "L-word" and meant it.)

Should we move this over to FKSPOILR, Tipster?

Hey, I happen to like "Rosemary's Baby"! LOL! Granted it may not be accurate
but it's one of the few movies I enjoy whenever I catch it. (It will be on
Sunday at 2PM EST on the Sci-FI Channel, BTW...)

Now, I've never seen anyone even remotely convincing tell me they were
a vampire, so I don't know how accurate any vamp-related stories like
FK might be... :)

Heck, Fred should win something NOW! I'm not normally into movie soundtracks
but the FK CD grows on me more every time I listen to it. Although, I wish
the vocal portion of "Queen Of Harps" was longer, that GWD played a little
more, and that the FK theme with NB's vocals over it were included... :)
Overall, I think it's an oustanding collection and Fred has outdone himself.
Hopefully, it will be so popular we'll see a 2nd edition... :)

I haven't known a actual vamp.... or then again mabey they were... but
they thaguth they were and acted like they were. Very normal like except
the drank blood (EWWWW!) stayed away from all sunlight and didn't eat reg
food. (in front of anyone at least) They didn't go around telling people
I knew cause I was a close friend. But anyways what I am trying to say
that if there were real vamps they would be much like people and they
would try to blend in like the vamps in FK do. However I think they would
be a little more careful.

Subject: Just Some Newbie Ravings

I'm new to the list and new to FK (this season). I raved about
the show to my 64-year-old mother and a month later she called
and told me "Now you've got me totally hooked on that Forever
Knight, which your step-dad thinks is just a silly vampire show,
but I told him it's the most didactic and intelligent series
I've seen on TV in decades." Go, Mom!

So Mom and I discuss FK all the time. It's a kick. This is the
closest we've been in years, even if we seldom agree . . .

Here's Mom in a lighter mode: "Tracy's vapid. She looks more
like a vampire than the rest of them, she's so thin and pale."
(I like Tracy and think her character had potential to transcend
her rigid upbringing.)

Mom on Vachon: "Why doesn't he ever get a haircut or shave or
wear something besides black. I wouldn't want to run in to him in
a dark alley." (Mom and I never did agree on men.)

Mom thinks Natalie is the greatest character of all time, and
Nick the most tragic. I wonder what I'll have to do to bribe Mom
to tape the first and second seasons for me when they come around
on the SFC. (Promise not to date men who look like Vachon?)

Thanks so much to all the people who posted the SOS-FK history.
Your posts inspired me to search out the WWW pages, gather the
info, and start writing. I'm going to send copies of my letters
to Mom and encourage her to do the same, so the TPTB see that
even senior citizens (a big marketing group) love FK! Perhaps
the SOS-FK history could be posted on a regular basis, since alot
of us will be signing on as the Sci-Fi showings gain momentum.

Here's a bit of newbie confusion for anyone who has patience to
contact me by private e-mail: How exactly do the factions work,
and what exactly is "war?" I tried following a link to a "war"
page, but it was no longer working.

And is there a faction for, um, Vachon? If so, how do I join?

Yes, but they don't have the *official* FK Logo on them. I was at Media, I saw

But that's not the point, J.S. Whoever Cynthia was replying to was suggesting

land us in deep trouble *very* fast!

We want to get the show back, not get slapped with a cease-and-desist order for

Please take my word on this one, we hashed it out in *great* detail when we
were deciding what to put on the bags for NATPE, and several of the bona fide

Very Bad Idea.

Now, flyers at cons, on posts, on bulletin boards-- *that* is a good idea! I

Hi ,

The USA Today news paper has a page on The Net every Thursday in the
LIFE section. It lists www URL's and a short description of the site.
If we could get them to print the www address for SOSFK we could reach
millions. People who would never find us on there own and might not
think to look for others on the internet.

We may have better luck convincing Sony, Tri Star, USA, or the SCIFI
Channel of adding Sony's or better yet one of our WWW address in the
credits (or someplace) to generate interest. This tactic helped
generate a market for Babaylon 5 merchandise while maintaining interest
in the show throughout the week. A chance to make money and advertise
for free, what more could TPTB *want*???

Subject: A little WAR history

A little bit of history for those of you who've never participated in
a War or for those of you who just simply may not know.

These are the (fiction) wars that have been held to date:

FKWARS I: A Call to Arms
   FKWARS II: Application Forthcoming
   FKWARS III: All Things Fun
   FKWARS IV: Coup D'Etat
   FKWARS V: Chess
FKWARS VI: This Time, It's Personal [title and war unofficial]

That last War that happened was not strictly a war, but by general
list agreement at the time, it was included. War VI was/is our letter
writing campaign to save the show.

That makes the next war FKWAR VII: ???

Notice that it has no title. Here's a bit of history that you all may
not know...Each war has been known by the title of the first official
post of that war. I think Laurie Salopek posted the first note for
FKWar I. And then I believe SusanG posted the FKWar II post. Then I
think it was Laurie Salopek again for War III. After that I'd have to
start looking them up. :)

So for the faction starting this next war I have a word of advice:

MAKE IT GOOD.

Choose a good title. That's how the War is going to be known for, uh,
for rest of time. :)

Sandra begins her comments:
> That's not so

and goes on to say that Nick and LaCroix were watching Alexandra
being laid out.

The wonderful ambiguity of the English language strikes again. I
didn't mean "wake" in the sense "wake up," but in the sense "watching
over a corpse before burial."

I don't think what they saw was a laying out because the corpse was
already washed, dressed and in the coffin. At least, I think it was
a coffin. It could have been lying on a table. Anyway, it wasn't historically
accurate because a 17th century body would have been buried in a
shroud -- there was a legal requirement for a woolen shroud in
England in that period -- but that's another story. Or is there a
second meaning of "laying out" which includes the sense "watching
over a corpse?"

As for the rest, of course Nick didn't know she'd been brought across.
That's made clear by his assumption, when he began seeing her in
Toronto, that she was either an hallucination or a ghost.

In my interpretation, Nick was acting and feeling guilty at the time,
but that LaCroix, who doesn't understand that reaction, took it that
Nick was afraid of her spirit's taking revenge.

Look Mom, 4 lines!

A note to anyone who does this....see if you can get a deal where your ad
is allowed to be used as "filler" in addition to your paid spots. Many of
the companies who air spots have a filler reel; spots off this reel are
used when an open space comes up, and they don't have a paid spot for that
slot.

Subject: War information

Since on a regular basis we mention this thing called "War," and since
newbies arrive to swell our loving family daily, I offer this. On the Web,
I have uploaded the most full and complete information on wars I could get.
This file was very kindly sent to me by Her Chocolateness, Dianne la
Mercenaire, and is collected from various FAQs and posts over the years.

To reach this gold mine of knowledge, please go to
http://members.aol.com/Lizbetann/warinfo.txt

Hopefully, this will save some poor newbie from the mournful post that was
my first message to the list, "What's a War, and can I play?" :)

The first four episodes of season 3 (BBI, BBII, OtLi, and Blackwing) had the
opening credits with Vachon staking the Inca followed by the shot of Tracy
and everything after (starting with Blind Faith) has the credits with Tracy
with her gun drawn and Nick in the foreground.

Subject: off-topic/ObFK fanfic opportunities

Just one of those little annoying posts to say that I've been more or
less offline for over a week, and will now <really> be offline until
Tuesday. So if I've been ignoring you, I sorta/kinda have a halfway
decent excuse, and will have an even better excuse this weekend,
when I'll be hours away from "sivilization," much less the Internet
:) Not going no-mail, so let's see if I give EarthLink a heart
attack...

Off to play...

ObFK: Call me slow, but I just recently realized that we have two
whole years prior to "Dark Knight" to play with in fanfic. Early
Nick and Nat interaction, mega LaCroix flashback opportunities,
Stonetree, Nick on the TPD pre-partnership-with-Schanke (but with
plenty o' Schank around).
Pre-Nat-knowing-about-LaCroix-or-Janette.
Pre-Nick-going-to-the-Raven. Pre-BMV or OtL. In a way, with the
show <<temporarily>> on hiatus, we now have an open playground.
We don't have to limit our focus to analyzing BMV to death, or
living in third season, or justifying "Last Knight." Not that we did
before, but we did tend to (yup, that's a royal "we"!) Coooool...

yea; so do vampires have *no* reflections-positively?
the one ep with the virtual reality gig had nick looking right into
a mirror w/a reflection. but that could've been *in* virtual reality,
so anything is possible !

I did not suggest duplicating the press kits specifically but since you
brought it up members of the press come and go quickly - look at the changes
in TV Guide. And also the press gets hit with publicity releases everyday.
FK is very important to all of us but not to them. In a publicity campaign,
you schedule a series of contacts to make sure your point doesn't get lost in
the crowd. The press might look at FK and say "well its gone now that's old
news" We have to keep the idea of an FK return fresh in their minds and let
them know that this is news. That entertainment consumers are fighting for
the entertainment they want. Possible lead: No Couch Potatoes Here. FK fans
across North America unite to save their show.

Mary Davis > SpiritNYC
The only insurmountable obstacle is a lack of imagination.
There's no business like Show Business.
Forever Knight is not cancelled its just NCIP -Not Currently In Production.

Mr. Olson works for USA and apparently must believe if they didn't show it we
didn't see it. Obviously they are the episodes which we have seen on the
SciFi Channel and first run syndication.
