Off the top of my head, I can think of several, starting with NiQ, which features a dream sequence as well as flashbacks and a present-day story. At least one spoiler-protected episode falls into this category, as well -- and I say "at least" because it could be as many as three, depending. C&C is more fantasy than reality, but it still includes both, as well as flashbacks, and it perfectly fills your need for "the confusion of the two." In other words, I believe that the initial sequence of BB I is a dream sequence, and I base this on the frequent use of that device in FK. *** Amy, Lady of the Knight (akr@n.......) *** "You revere all that is mortal, all that is human. They were going to try to > frame him for it if he didn't give up more money. But was he an involuntary embezzler? The sequence of events is: 1) His father confronts him with his debts and appears reluctant to pay them. 2) Sean is gambling, saying "There's more where that came from". (Where? He just got turned down!) 3) His father dies. 4) The DeBrabant money disappears, possibly that very night. That's pretty fast work for the crook to pressure Sean with "I killed your father and will make it look like you, so cough up lots of money". Also note that Sean originally was going to just pay his debts. Yet in his argument with his father, he expected Charles to pay them. If his father had the money, which Sean has now inherited, why the necessity to steal the DeBrabant money? It was only after Sean told the crook "here's what I owe you" that the guy insisted on half the DeBrabant account. And Sean zeroed in on the account which was safest to steal; an account whose owner would be very reluctant to have publicized. Did Charles confide in his son, preparing him to take over the business? I think the police got distracted by the murder and didn't realize that the pattern in which the money disappeared supports Sean being a voluntary embezzler. And given point #2 above, which the police didn't hear (like we did), he may well have been in on the murder as well. but the crook blew the blackmail end so that it looked like a frame-up instead of a threat to expose Sean's part in it. The answer is simple: probate. In Canada, a will has to be probated before any money is transferred to the beneficiaries. The more money involved, the more complicated the estate and the longer it takes to probate the will. Given the amount of money involved, unless Sean's father made special arrangements such as a trust fund to devolve on Sean in case of his father's death, it is unlikely that Sean would see any of his inheritance for six months to a year, and even then, it would likely be an advance against his eventual capital, rather than everything he is entitled to.
