In LYTD, Nick had come to the realization that "*We* are the guilty.
They are the innocent.", that since he had had proved to him that
there was no difference between guilty and innocent blood, that he
no longer felt it was right to feed on humans. I can't see him no
more than 20 years later wanting to drain someone to death (whether
she wanted to die or not). At least I assume by your statment you
take the "dream" of him attacking her on deck literally.

There's another reason why I think he wouldn't have killed her.
Her wish was originally to be immortal so the Buddha brought Nick to
her to fulfill that wish. But since she came to feel that she was
the cause of the Titanic disaster, she no longer wished to be made
immortal (imo). So Nick was not obligated to do anything more for
her, even kill her. Imo, if he was to attack her, it would be more
likely to bring her over so that he could have his *own* wish for
*mortality* fulfilled. Since Nick is still a vampire and attributes
the plane crash to the Buddha, obviously his wish had not yet been
fulfilled. I can't see why the Buddha wouldn't have worked to grant
Nick's wish much sooner if he had brought Claire across. And without
that incentive, what real incentive would Nick have had to kill her?
If she had *wished* for him to kill her instead of bringing her over
as she originally asked, why then is Nick still a vampire and making
the assumption that the Buddha caused the plane crash?

Gahd, that was brilliant! (on the other hand, the 'curse' would then last for
10-15 YEARS!) From this you could also extrapolate an aging factor for vamps-
a FK vampire would appear to age 10 "human" years every 7000 calendar years...
Thus, if you were 'brought across' at say, 20 years of age, and assuming you
would live a human lifespan of say, 60 years, you would live aproximatly
28,000 calendar years. (I guess that makes LC a youngster)

I may be alone in this, but I think that Nick did nothing to her. I was
under the impression that when she changed her mind he left her on the ship,
since she seemed to want to "Face her fate" as it were. my guess is that Nick
left the Titanic, and she stayed on it, going down with the rest of those she
had - in her eyes - doomed to die. I dunno, thats just my opinion, maybe I'm

hokay...here goes. step by step, my opinion of what happened.

Vudu checks a small suitcase onto the plane under the name of one of the
passengers (by looking at someone elses luggage, but this might not be
necessary) which contains one of those blue boxes of C-4 (or Semtex for those
of
you who dissagree) which we see later in the second half. the captain (the one
with the box) goes on to the plane, and as John Soo-Hoo stated, Airport
security
is a joke. Shortly after the plane leaves Pearson, Vudu sends the activation
signal to the music box, via his cell phone. the captain turns the box off, or
lets it run to the end, and that sets off the explosive in the hold, which
accounts for the size of the explosion we saw in the sky (there is no way in
hell that the explosion we saw was that of the cockpit going up!). As to the
original question of how Vachon survived this...as I said before, it IS a T.V.

Actually, if a scene didn't have a voice-over and looked like it was from a

from Forever Knight. I can't remember the episodes they got their scenes

It depends on whether you believe in the Buddha's curse. Or, maybe her wish
was for an opportunity for immortality, which she then declined when she
thought about having the deaths on her conscious.

Speaking of her asking Nick about how he would feel with all those deaths on
his conscious, isn't that a rather odd question since as far as she knows
vampires drink human's blood and kill to do it? Or does she think they just
"sip"?

I think we have pretty much agreed that when Nick said he would not kill
anymore he meant for their blood as a food supply. The other killings were
to protect people, or save people or because he felt they were betraying
others. Not as a food source. And neither was she a food source. Yes? No?

Subject: Roses (was Re: who's that?)

> but who is Rosebud that someone just asked for an E-mail address for???

As the list's only declared Fleur-Booster (yes: I like BMV and I'm
willing to say so in public) I feel compelled to be really pedantic about
this. <g> "Rosebud" is LC's e-mail alias, as revealed in "Trophy Girl."
Why is this important? Because, as revealed in second-season's "Be My
Valentine," the love of LC's life was Nick's younger sister, Fleur.
LC + Roses = Memories of Fleur
White roses are preferred, of course. You see, not only does her
name mean "flower," and not only is her innocence and purity represented by
a white rose, but the second time they spoke, LC, captivated and perhaps
even speechless, picked a white rose and handed it to her. A thorn cut her
finger. LC hesitated infintesimally, and then put her finger in his mouth.
"The attraction appears mutual," Janette said, trying to prevent
Nick from interfering. It was most certainly mutual, but he interfered
anyway -- whether to protect his sister, or to keep LC for himself, or a
combination of both, is still open to debate.
After but a bit more time together, LC reached the point of
bringing Fleur across. Nick tore them apart, and tried to convince Fleur to
reject LC. When she wouldn't, he changed tactics, and convinced LC that
if he truly loved Fleur, he'd let her go.
How does the line go? "Ironic, isn't it, that such a cold, still
heart can feel such pain." LC refused to bring Fleur across, and Nick
hypnotized her so that she would remember nothing. LC then swore that if
ever Nick truly loved a mortal, he would deprive him of her -- vengance
will be LC's. Nick, newly a vampire, didn't believe that he'd ever love a
mortal, and agreed to the blood debt LC demanded.
Fleur, in her early twenties, eight centuries ago, demonstrated
intelligence, curiosity, determination, loyalty, and knowledge of her own
wants that, it may be argued, her brother has yet to match.
IMHO, she is monumentally important in understanding LC.

I'm more interested in what would happen if a vampire was hanging out 'way
up high in midair, and collided with a jet airplane.

I don't care HOW immortal it is: anyone who gets smacked upside the head
with a jet plane is not going to be a happy camper in the morning. But I'm
wondering: assuming that the vampire hit terra firma and um, splattered,
how long would it take for all the tiny little immortal pieces of vampire
hamburger to find each other and reassemble? And what if the vampire
crash-landed on a freeway? I mean, all those little altered nucleotides
squirming across the ashpalt, looking for other vampire cells, getting
squooshed by semis and speeding motorists -- you think the vampire could
manage to 'get it together' before sunrise?

I mean, I've always had this theory that the reason LC was able to come
back to life after Nick staked 'im was because our golden-boy decided to do
some house-cleaning, and vacuumed up the ashes. Which must have made for
one awkward awakening. No wonder he was pissed at Nick...

That's it! (Or I think that's it; I haven't seen BB in months, and I'd
hardly met FK when I did.) I now remember that when I did see BB, I
thought that the deck scene *was* "sipping"... and that Nick didn't kill

BB had granted her wish by giving her the choice, but she thought the
price was too high... as Nick thinks the price of vampirism is too high.

I think the reality of the situation had not occured to her. She asked for
"immortality," she did not want to be a vampire, specifically. I don't
think she connected the two very well. She knew that vampires could "sip"
(or at least a 700 year old Nick could, when she offered him her wrist).

Hi All

Marg R. is still having serious problems posting mail to the list so I'm
posting this for her. Good luck, Marg, and may your computer demons be
exiled soon.

Enjoy!

I really wanted to reply to this to the list but I am being rejected still.
Can you forward this for me please? You can add/edit it if you want.

Here's a question I asked a few friends the other night - what would happen
if a vampire was hit by lightning?

The vampire would glow.

Top Ten uses for vampires hit by lightning:
1. flashlight during the storm
2. to attract fireflies for your kids
3. to signal airplanes
4. a nightlight
5. to use instead of a flare if your car breaks down
6. a new decor lamp in your living room.
7. to jump start your battery in your car
8. to crash an enemy's computer
9. a street light
10. as a warm, glowing fuzzie when you're feeling really down!

Thanks!

Let's hope they are not smacked up the head *too* hard, causing seperation!
Otherwise, the little monades will not be moving towards perfection
(sorry, anyone read Spinoza?)

I'm majorly flashing to Anne Rice's "The Mummy," the scene where he
squashes the hand into tiny pieces and throws them into the Nile... yuck.

So that sip in LYTD was to restore his strength after finally escaping from
Nick's Hoover? ;)

I haven't been paying close attention to this thread, but this comment
caught my eye. LOL! Never, ever, read the FK list while on
switchboard relief. It's hard to answer the phone when you're laughing
so hard (and people give you funny looks, too).

BTW, why just the table legs? How about whole tables sailing
through the air?

Image if Janette and another female vampire (Alma, maybe?) got
PMS at the same time. Yikes! The horror. The horror.

Actually, my vision was of LaCroix trying to escape from a Dustbuster. :-D
