Pat Elrod is writing a new book. Called "Keeper Of The
>King" <snip> her co-writer.<snip> It's Nigel Bennett.
<big snip>

Get this book, not only because of the writers, but because it's EXCELLENT.
At SoonerCon last year Pat did a reading of the first chapter. I was
annoyed that it was so little. At first I thought her co-author was Clive
Barker from the style (I like Clive), which should give you an idea of
exactly HOW good it is. Oh, my, I'm quite happy now...

My apologies, Lisa. I was upset at the prospect of losing that precious,

Yes, the virgin one was great. However, it's somewhat impractical for
various reasons (I'm not listing 'em). Got some blood recipes for humans,
tho. Non-alcoholic, but they're really good with tequila or nice cold vodka.

equal parts orange juice and tomato juice. Mix. Drinnk (chilled or not)

Variations: Pineapple-orange juice and tomato; orange juice, spicy V8, and
tabasco (yum! This is the tequila recipe); orange juice, regular V8; any of
the above, lotsa food coloring.

These sound disgusting, but they're actually quite good. Kind of tangy,
kind of sweet, thick, and nicely drinkable. Doesn't taste much like blood
(I thank my various splitting of lips for this info), but it's closer than
most. Warning: acquired taste.

I could never decide about that one. I thought in the end, she specifically
said she couldn't bear to go through eternity with all those deaths on her
conscience, and so changed her mind. Therefore, was Nick simply having a
nightmare about something he didn't do? Should have done? Shouldn't have
done? It seems to me he would have abided by her wishes.

>> Are we sure the explosive Vudu used was C-4?

Quite. At what I think was near the end of part 1, or the start of part
2, the detectives are talking about a stolen shipment of C-4, and that with the
amount he had, Vudu could level the city. And it wasn't an altitude sensitive
detonator; he used his cellphone to activate it.

In reply to some other comments, in my opinion the C-4 wasn't IN the
music box, it was already on the plane, perhaps checked on as a piece of
luggage. It would be difficult to fit much plastique in that music box,
considering what we saw him putting into it at the beginning (i.e. all those
electronics and radio equipment so it could pick up the cellphone signal). The
box was just the detonator. In the police station case, the chocolate box had
a larger area plus it wasn't a detonator, just the bomb itself and therefore
didn't require all the wiring, not to mention that he was just aiming to kill
the Captain, not level the whole building.

I don't think Nick either killed her or brought her across. Claire
felt responsible for what happened to the Titanic and changed her
mind about wanting to be brought over, didn't she? I think when we
see Nick biting her, he's having a dream of what he feels he *should*

Well I just watched a couple of first season episodes for the first time and
I have come up with the following analogy:

Sideburns are to Nick as Eyebrows are to LaCroix.

There's no predicting the boogers. From episode to episode, season to
season, eyebrows and sideburns come and go. When LaCroix had that real realy
light hair, his eyebrows looked ~very~ dark in contrast. Let's just be
thankful LaCroix doesn't feel compelled to occasionally grow any more facial
hair than that!

I don't think he did either. The dream he had at the beginning
of the show was just that....a dream. I believe - at the woman's
request - that he allowed her to die, i.e. go down with the ship.

For those of you who already know the GNP/Crescendo number
and such, but feel kind of silly calling, don't worry about
it. They're cool. Really cool.

And just so you can feel a little more superior, the item
you're ordering from them is GNPD 8043.

Did anyone else have their CD case arrive cracked?

I was in my Chemistry class last night at the Community College (need it
for Nursing Program) and the teacher was talking about Oxidation and Redox
Reactions. He mentioned to the class an easy way to remember about the
gaining and losing of electrons (L.E.O. the lion says G.E.R.). The teacher
pronounces it (G.E.R.) as grrr. I was a second away from pointing out that
it's pronounced GER as in FK's GER, before I realized what I was doing.

I know that the bomb Vudu used was concealed in a music box; as
one person pointed out, why destroy the rest of the plane when all you
have to do is destroy the cockpit?
I also know that it was detonated via a cellular phone. My only
question was, are we *sure* it was C-4 and not Semtex? Some people say
it was C-4, others seem to recall Reese talking about Semtex. I guess
I'll have to get out my copy of BB and find out.

I just ordered the CD, and when I asked about shipping time I was told I
could pay an extra dollar and get First Class which should arrive in
about 4 days. Has anybody else heard this and if so, has it worked?
