Nope, I ain't gettin' in on this! :) I suppose you could *try* to get
him drunk and then suggest a game of strip poker, but...that might
call up some unpleasant flashbacks that would make him sober again
(and maybe angry). ;)

Besides, it wasn't *me* that suggested that game anyway. And I'm
certainly no expert in...

And no one had better not get me drunk around vampires again!! I
ain't ready to die yet.

Subject: As Screed might have said..."Ain't that a kick in the crotch?"

(This is my one and _only_ response to the so-called "FK Tour Warning" posted
by the fictitious "NotTourNot@a......." account. Followups in private e-mail,
please. The original post was a blatant flame, and in my rebuttal, I have
probably been guilty of the same. For this, I apologise, but I also hope that
followups can be conducted in private, as _should_ have been the case in the
first place!)

Hmmm.

"Ain't that a kick in the crotch" indeed. It now seems as though I do share
something with Uncle after all - namely, being flamed by a group of anonymous
cowards. Come on, show your faces in public if you've got such an axe to
grind.

We of the Toronto contingent aren't exactly being _forced_ to run tours. We
do it because we like to meet other fans and we hope that they appreciate
being shown the sites where their show is filmed. We also hope that they
realise that we're hardly a professional tour company, and furthermore, that
the tour organised around Deb's play was the _first_ time that a tour was
organised with _multiple_ cars (and we don't even charge a penny, for Pete's
sakes!). That this particular tour didn't go off without a hitch is
regrettable, but certainly not worthy of the hatred shown to us, and to me
specifically. (I notice that they ended up absolving Lynne of most
responsibility, and specifically referred to themselves as _my_ "victims"
rather than as _our_ "victims").

In short, we gave them the hand of fellowship - and what we got in return was
a kick in the teeth. Gee, thanks.

Having said this, it's actually patently obvious who the writers were, as
there were eight people in the two cars ahead of me, _including_ Lynne,
therefore leaving seven "suspects". For that matter, why they waited a month
and a half to spout off (let alone the fact that they even bothered to create
their own fictitious account to do so) is an amusing question, but I'll leave
it for your kill file.

Well, here goes...

NotTourNot@a....... (who's that? Enquiring minds want to know!) writes...

If you could read, you might have noticed that I said "Please _don't_".

>pride.

Here, we have a "person" or group of "persons" who take(s) the whole idea of
factions, _way_ too seriously. Cousins also have pride, but mature people
don't use anonymity as an excuse to hurl insults, regardless of their
particular faction. You have done your fellow Ravenettes a great disservice.

>Binder paper would have been better and he should know that.

Actually, I didn't have binder paper (graph paper just wouldn't have been
particularly appropriate, either), and my only paraphernalia relevant to
Forever Knight were a few pictures of Geraint, a signed picture of Nigel, and
the third season picture. Obviously, it didn't bother Deb as much as it
bothered Catherine or you people, so get over it already.

>He is, after all, a grownup.

...which is more than I can say for you "people".

Victims? Good grief.

>were instructed to meet them at 2 p.m., and to be ready to leave right away.

Who said to "leave right away"? Not myself. Not Lynne. We did actually tell
you that we were planning out the most efficient route. As for the possible
claim that "you should have done that before," I will say, matter-of-factly,
that I didn't realise that a car tour was even wanted, until Saturday night.
You see, there had been a lot of talk that Lynne and the Toronto contingent
were going to be conducting a _walking_ tour instead of a car tour, so we had
planned out a _walking_ tour. When we realised how cold it was, and that few
people were willing to walk around in such temperatures, we had to organise
our map again, so "excuuuuse us".

>Shortly (?) after 2 p.m., Will and Lynne finally appeared. They left their
>victims standing by the elevators as they huddled on a couch, scribbling
>hieroglyphics on scraps of paper.

Thank you for your recognition of our great knowledge of Egyptology, but in
fact, those "hieroglyphics" were the sites being plotted on the map. There
were something like 20 sites to reach, so excuse us for not having had a Cray
Supercomputer on hand, plotting the most efficient route for us.

>Inquiries were made from time to time by the victims as to when the tour
>would leave, but no answers were forthcoming.

Actually, the truth is that anyone who asked, was told that we were working on
it. I explained the complexity of the problem, and requested a certain degree
of patience, which I had _thought_ was forthcoming.

> The "Tour Guides" were still figuring out what they were going to show us on
>the tour. Gee ... and we thought they'd given this tour many times before.

We have. See the post from Allison Percy (Thank you, Allison!!! Thank
you!)...we have also taken others on the tour, but as I said before, this was
the _first_ tour that involved multiple cars.

Besides which, I had just (the night before) downloaded the sites listed on
the FAQ, some of which were in neither mine nor Lynne's list of sites. We
were incorporating the extra sites into the route, if you must know.

>Eventually, when the victims were ready to call it quits, Will finally
>announced that the tour was ready to leave. There was only one small

Excuse me for believing it prudent to top up my tank in advance of a lengthy
trip. We don't even charge for gas, so give it a rest already.

>victims piled into two cars, with Lynne in the front car (so she could let

>car, surely they'd be able to figure it out on their own),

...then the driver of the second car should have been with us while we were
plotting out the route, shouldn't she?

>and prepared to follow Will to the gas station. There was only one small
>problem. Will forgot that he was the leader.

No, I didn't forget that I was supposed to be the leader. I pulled into the
circular driveway behind Jane's car and Lana's car, instead of _in front_ of
the driveway, because of the traffic conditions and certain impediments on the
street and on the driveay. Perhaps if you were actually looking at the
traffic conditions, you might have realised why I pulled _into_ the driveway,
instead in front of it. To wit:

1) There was a car in the driveway in front of Jane's and Lana's cars. In
other words, if I had pulled out in front of the driveway, I would have been
partially blocking that car. Furthermore,

2) There was a very large tour bus in the right hand lane of Carlton St, where
I had been _planning_ to wait for the car in front of Jane's and Lana's, to
move out of the way. If I had waited in the _left_ lane, I would have choked
off the traffic flow on Carlton completely (only two lanes, "doncha know"),
thus creating a safety hazard. Even if I _had_ pulled out in front of the
bus (tricky, but not impossible, I grant), I would have been _right on top_ of
the corner of Jarvis and Carlton, therefore blocking right hand turns...note
of course that because of the bus blocking the line of sight, people making
right turns may not have noticed me until they had hit my car .... (If
anyone wants a more detailed explanation of the site in question, he/she is
free to e-mail us - in private, please, for the sake of the list)

The two front cars were _right_ in front of mine. Are you actually claiming
that you didn't see me???

>When the victims pulled out of the driveway, Will was nowhere in sight. He
>claimed later that he was behind the second car, but no-one saw him ... and
>we were looking for him.

Where, pray tell? I was behind the two front cars, but they had both found
empty spaces in the traffic, long before I actually did. In short, my plan
was to follow the front two cars into the traffic, then pull ahead.
Unfortunately, the traffic had other ideas, so to speak, ie., oncoming cars
made it impossible to turn out until several minutes later. By then, both
cars were long gone.

>Following Lynne's instructions,

..._misreading_ Lynne's instructions, actually. In fact, you even admit as
much. See below.

>the first car turned out of the driveway and made a left turn at the lights.

...which fact I did _not_ see, thanks in part to the eastbound traffic
blocking the line of sight, but most of all because of my attempts to scan the
oncoming traffic (coming from _the other direction_, I might add...)

>This was, apparently, not quite correct.

Yes, they were supposed to go west on Carlton, not north on Jarvis!!

>As result of the misunderstanding, both cars had to make illegal u-turns.

Lynne informs me that these turns were _not_ illegal. In fact, the turns
weren't even U-Turns, as you claim. Both cars turned left into a driveway,
then backed out into the southbound lane. There is no U turn to be found in
this manoeuvre.

>In a futile attempt to discover what had happened to Will, the two cars
>paused briefly near the hotel, but continued on when it was obvious that he
>had not waited for his tour to follow him.

I had taken the _correct_ route, hoping to catch up to the first two cars,
after which time I went back to the hotel in the hope that the first two cars
had returned. Apparently, according to Lynne, one of the people advised
_against_ that, suggesting that if they took the route on the map, we would
eventually end up meeting. However, meeting back at the hotel would have
likely been the _best_ idea, and I grant that we should have suggested this
idea as a contigency. However, we didn't think of it - we're _not_
professional guides, if I didn't say that enough already. However, as
"grownups," we learn by our mistakes, and will include contigency planning as
a part of the next tour - which is still a go, in spite of this nonsense.

>He later claimed that his victims had "lost" him. Exactly how do you lose
>your leader?

Answer: by pulling out into traffic several minutes before he is able to
safely do so, then going the wrong way. Is that a good enough answer for you
people?

For that matter, why would I have _wanted_ to lose you? We've done countless
tours before, not with multiple cars, granted, but we've never "lost" anyone,
or vice versa.

>Lynne assured the victims in the first car that she could guide the tour.

Actually...as above, she told me that one of you told her to go on without me,
hoping that we'd meet up later. Hmmph! Get your facts straight, hmmm...or
are you calling Lynne a liar?

>Illegally parking in front of and blocking the entrance to the parking garage
>of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Headquarters. There was only one small
>problem: the police officer trying to get into the garage objected.

Did Lynne _ask_ you to do this? I seriously doubt that she would advise you
to park illegally. Even so, we aren't professionals, and if you consider our
suggestions to be bad (or illegal, for that matter), you are free to _ignore_
them.

(deletions...yawn...)

>At this point, the victims staged a rebellion. They no longer wanted to
>follow the "tour". All they wanted was to see the loft, the police station
>and the studio. So, off we went.

Fine...the tour was for you, so if you only wanted to see the "main" sites,
that was your own business. That you called it "staging a rebellion" was
bizarre. Lynne wasn't exactly holding a gun to your head, _forcing_ you to go
places. There was nothing nor anyone to "rebel" against.

>A quick drive through Chinatown on a Sunday. There was only one small
>problem. The cars didn't move in Chinatown that Sunday. Heck,
>the pedestrians were hardly able to move in Chinatown that Sunday. So...
>the cars crawled along the road -- at one point, almost losing each other.

Well, you know..._nothing_ moves on Chinatown streets, _ever_, especially not
along Dundas (I didn't even have to ask Lynne, to know that you were on
Dundas). If you had done things the _right_ way, I wouldn't have led you
there, and in fact, the map pretty much _avoided_ the area. Good grief.

Also, according to Lynne, you _had_ to go to Dundas, in order to pick up some
photographs before the photo store (near Yonge and Dundas) closed for the day.
If I were there, I'd have suggested a different route, which would have
travelled through a greater distance, but which would have taken less time.

>One of the victims took advantage of the lull and got out of a car to pick up
>her photographs.

I know of whom you're referring...see below.

>Lynne directed the first car in a looping maneuver, including a highly
>illegal u-turn on Yonge Street.

Lynne informs me that you made no U-Turns on Yonge. In fact, you went north
on _Victoria_, a minor street compared to Yonge, and the next street over.

>By the time the victims made it back, the photographs had been picked up,
>paid for, and the victim was waiting patiently for her ride.

Are you including Lillian (who very kindly volunteered to pick up Lana's
pictures) as a "victim"? Are you claiming that she was a willing participant
in this despicable enterprise of yours? Lynne and I both really doubt that,
after having met her, and do humbly believe that she is incapable of such a
dishonourable and cowardly act as you have wrought upon us.

>The victims did make it to the loft and the police station. There are
>photographs to prove this. There was only one small problem. By this time,
>one victim had surrendered to motion sickness from driving around in circles
>for hours. And the tour wasn't over.

Ah, and are you also claiming Felicia as one of your own? Come on, show your
faces publicly - what, are you _afraid_?

>So, on to the studio via a brief peek at Jilly's strip club. There was only
>one small problem. This was against the clearly spoken wishes of the victims
>-- they didn't want to see Jilly's strip club.

Well gee, excuse Lynne for living...Jilly's is near the same corner as the
general location of the loft... Is she a criminal for pointing it out? You
can't get from the loft to the precinct without going by Jilly's, so it isn't
as though Lynne took you out of your way just to go to Jilly's. Grow up
already.

>The studio was fine. It was freezing, but we got to see the dressing rooms,

>victim's photograph.

...and she did this on purpose, right? ...just as I "took off on you"
purposely too, right?

>Okay, we admit it ... the tour was unforgettable. Both drivers suffered
>nervous breakdowns that evening.

Did Jane and Lana, as the drivers, _tell_ you this? Are you _also_ claiming
their support?

>Your car will be available?

Come Hell, High Water, the Antichrist, the Ontario Federation of Labour, OPSEU
picketers, or even Newt Gingrich, it will.

>Lynne did her best, but it was impossible for someone who doesn't drive to
>lead a tour. Your victims hope you apologized to her profusely.

One of the "victims" said to me, "Least said, soonest mended" in an e-mail to
me. I considered it sage advice. Evidently, _you_ didn't take her advice,
now did you?

>You certainly didn't apologize to them. In fact, you blamed them for taking
>off without you.

Who told you this, hmm? I wasn't "blaming" anyone. I was disappointed that
things didn't work out, but I certainly didn't "blame" anyone.

>Seriously folks, the tour is a good idea. All you need is a locations list
>and a car. You may even have fun ... if you don't use a "Tour Guide".

Incidentally, Lynne, Marg, and I are working on a list, so if anyone chooses
to do the tour individually, rather than with the Toronto folks, they may do
so at their leisure.

>Nominating the propellor beanie with a broken compass for the "Tour Guides"
>faction pin.

Propellor beanie? Why thank you for the compliment...

As for the "broken" compass....it wasn't me who made the wrong turn in the
first place. Don't throw stones in glass houses, as the saying goes. "Enough
said".

>FK Tour Survivors Support Group

Come on, show yourselves publicly...or are you too cowardly?

Besides which, if you had a bone to pick, you could have done it in
private e-mail, but no, you pulled the old "Virgin and the Vampire" trick.
Just despicable.

Amusedly,
Cousin Will

P.S. : Just having vented upon these disaffected and immature cowards, I did
_consider_ the idea of never hosting another tour again. However, as they
seem to have a bone against me _personally_ (after all, one of these "victims"
slagged me behind my back at the dinner table on Thursday, then stormed out of
the suite soon after I arrived on Friday night, while another called me
"stupid" on Saturday night), discouraging me is probably what they want,
anyway.

Consequently, the tour scheduled for the Sunday of Ger's play is _still_ a go.
However, if you have allowed yourself to be convinced that we are as
incompetent as these "people" suggest, then you may feel free to use the
locations list that we'll be providing soon. However, "the more, the
merrier," and we'd love to be your hosts.

I disagree with Catherine's assessment that Nick was looking at Nat's lab
notebook. I have an excellent copy of OtL. He is looking at Nat's
general calender--"laundry" and "baby shower" are quite clear. Also,
"picnic with Roger." Thus, seeing the flower box and being a detective,
ol' Nicky put two and two together and came up with--flower place.

That scene looked pretty erotically charged to me. ;) TPTB started
stressing the "father-son" aspect more starting in second season;
before that, Nick and LC's relationship seemed more complicated and...
suggestive. I've always thought that LC has more than "fatherly"
feelings for Nick. I don't think Nick either has or wants to return
those feelings. Nick seems more heterosexual in his desires; LC
seems more homosexual in his. Just my opinion.

Subject: FK Tour Warnings

When the person(s) who posted this childish silliness have the
maturity and courage to sign their name(s) to it, I may decide to
reply. However, given the untrue and nonsensical nature of the post,
I probably won't. In the meantime here are a few observations:

1) I've noticed in life that some people are so horrendously
dissatisfied with their lives and with themselves that they can't
appreciate >anything< anyways, up to and including perfection
(this is meant in a philosophical manner btw, not a personal
one). And I do feel tremendous compassion for those people whose
lives are so empty and who hate themselves so much that the only
way they can feel better about themselves is by trying to
belittle others (and most of the time ending up having to make
up things so they can justify their "feelings"). Such people
obviously have deeply-rooted emotional problems and we can only
hope they get the expert and professional help they so
desperately need, in time for it to do them some good.

2) lack of big city driving skills on your part do not constitute
     lack of knowledge on ours

3) A gentle word of warning: Will and I can probably give much more
than you are capable of taking; in other words (she says gently),
compared to us, in a battle of wits you're probably unarmed.
Just because we usually choose to be amiable and helpful, rather
than combative, doesn't mean we aren't capable of twisting in a
dagger or two if the circumstances warrant it (which I,
personally, don't think they do in this case - the whole thing is
just too darn silly for words, as far as I'm concerned).

4) what you wrote constitutes a flame, which is not allowed on the
list - this should be taken to private e-mail and, in fact,
should never have appeared on the list in the first place

5) some people seem to be rather humour-impaired, take ordinary
things way too seriously, and wouldn't recognize a joke or
witticism if they tripped over it

6) grown-ups usually take their anger and hostility and apply them
in more positive ways - e.g. - writing letters, folding cranes,
etc. We're trying to save a show here on this list, not indulge
     silly childish egos.

little longer to heal that the rest of him.

I just watched "Black Buddha" again, and I noticed something strange. If
vampires are repelled by religious icons, why wasn't Nick repelled by the
Buddha. We know for a fact is repelled by crosses. He was also repelled by
the Raven knife in "Blackwing." And I believe there was an episode where he
seemed uncomfortable around a Jewish Mennorah (I haven't seen this one but have
 heard about it).

Is the Buddha not really considered a religious icon. *Or* was Nick so in awe
by the fact that it could possibly cured him that he supressed any notion that
the Buddha was a religious icon (one of those "mind over matter things"). Any

Does anyone know why mail drop has been so slow lately? It's been taking up
the three days for messages to go through (at least for me). I've also
noticed that things drop at different rates. Example: I've gotten a reply
on a story I posted a few hours ago, and I haven't seen it on-list yet. The
whole thing is beginning to get on my nerves.

ObFK: YKYBWARTMFKW... Today/yesterday (whatever ya wanna call it) I went to
set up a new checking account (I got Mighty Mouse checks, BTW. They didn't
have FK, Hindenburg, or Dr. Demento). While I was there I heard someone
calling the name Nicholas. My first reaction was, "why is he out at 11
am?". When I noticed that it was a woman telling her son not to climb some
separators, it changed to "When did Uncle have the operation, and why did
Nick go on the Ray Bradbury Carousel?" Needless to say, I was sleep
deprived at the time. Still, it was nothing compared to my Liberty Bank
logo-Planet of the Apes realization. They didn't have Planet of the Apes
checks either, at least not literally.

My hand (Hand!) is cramping. I'll go now.

I beg to differ. Assuming that there is a moral standard for the
human/relatively human populace, I would agree. However, that's not the
case. My interpretation is that LaCroix is _extremely_ moral, he just
happens to have his own set of morals.

In defence of this, I cite SoB. LaCroix, if he were totally immoral
wouldn't have cared whether Nicholas were possessed or not. However, he
went completely against his external grain to save his son. Another
example: NIQ. As he put it, (I think this is right) "Quid pro quo,
Nicholas. I always pay my debts." Nick saved his life, so he saved Nick's.

The "rotten things" he does are more the result of the outlook he developed
during his mortal life than being nasty because it's fun. LaCroix became
used to power, and proved he could yield it well. Also, it would be too
difficult to send an army to the battlefield to possibly be killed, simply
to kill another army if every single soldier were seen as an individual.
This sort of thinking still exists in the military (I know. My dad has told
me MANY stories about his army days). He became a general in mortality, and
a general he is forever. This isn't immorality, it's a different view.

I don't mean this as a flame, just a debate.

I'd type more, but I'm sleepy.

Subject: Last Knight Party-- Tulsa

Okay, we finally have what looks like date confirmation on this. If what I
read is correct, Tulsa will be showing Last Knight on May 25. For anyone in
the area also planning on going to ThunderCon, this is the weekend before TC
(I am VERRRRY glad to say).

I'm not sure of exact time, but the party will hopefully start at sunset.
I'll check time this week. It'll probably be sometime between 8 and 9 pm,
Central Standard Time.

If anyone has any questions, send them to phoenix@i........ If anyone
needs to crash afterwards, there's room. I also plan to see what Little
Kaiser's says when we order a "Schanke Special".

Also, if anyone has copies of the blooper reel or first/second season eps,
would you be willing to dub them for me? I can provide tapes and shipping
cost. I'd really like to have them for the party.

TTFN! I hope to have updates periodically, maybe once a month until then.

In the FWIW department....

I'm making a point of buying the CD at a store. Why?

My swiss cheese brain reminds me of some article I read in the dark ages of
time (i.e. before last week) about this kind of thing. If I remember
correctly, CD's sold in stores counted for "more points" than CD's sold by
mail. They chalk the mail order ones up to the "rabid fan" theory.

If in fact my swiss cheese brain is melted, I hope someone with more
knowledge than this admittedly fuzzy tidbit will hop up and correct me.

I disagree. I think it _is_ kind of incestual, but I don't think it matters.
They're vampires. It's ... different somehow.

And frankly, giving LC's background, I don't think it would matter even if
they weren't.

(Is that a PG comment?)

Actually, that might be the appropriate place to discuss any new episodes
we come up with.

(For those of us new to this list, about a month ago we proposed that in
order to keep up discussion of "new" episodes, we have some of the excellent
writers we have here turn out "scripts" and have one each week that is that
week's "episode".)

All of the responses we received were favorable, BTW, though we could probably
use a few more writers!

I've been sitting on this for a while as we wait for the end of the season
but now might be a good time to ask: Are people still interested in this?

Hmmm - since Fever is one of the best liked episodes of the third season
(and I believe it is off spoiler protection as it has been repeated) you
must tell us why you think it - er - "sucked".

Poor Will and Lynne. First of all, letters which are written by anonymous
cowards should never be given the respect an answer gives them. If someone
has a problem they feel important enough to gripe about, then they should be
brave enough to face the one accused of wrongdoing, not hiding like these
folks are. That alone takes the credibility out of their complaints.

As far as I'm concerned, they have no complaints, no problems and their
letter didn't even happen. I'm just very sorry that people who tried very
hard to help fellow fans got hurt in the process.

I agree. I remember a bolt of lightening shooting right through me at that

Subject: HorrorFest

Plans for our FK table at HorrorFest 96 are coming along, and I'm excited
about the prospect of showing FK videos and passing out info. Looks like it
is going to be a small affair since this is the first one, although the lady
organizing it is working hard to see that it expands to two days next year.
That will attract more dealers and writers. She's having a hard time getting
people to commit because of the first time setting and one day length. Pat
Elrod is *definitely* attending and I'm eager to meet her. Anyway, thought
I'd pass this on to the list -- if any of you are on horror or vampire lists,
could you please pass this information on in case there are Dallas area
horror/fantasy fans who might want to come? The more people who attend, the
more who will see our FK table, are my thoughts! Info is:

HorrorFest '96, April 6th, 10:00 a.m. into the evening, Harvey Hotel, 14315
Midway Road (between Spring Valley and Belt Line in Addison), Dallas, Texas.
The organizers are: Con and Dagger Productions, 604 Vernet Street,
Richardson, Texas 75080, (214) 669-9932 (voice or fax). $15 at the door.
The lady organizing it is Carole Thompson.

Also, if anyone knows an area horror/fantasy writer who might want to
participate, let me know.

Thanks guys, Sherri

For anyone waiting for the next part of the star trek xover... it'll
probably be a while. My hard drive refuses to acknowledge its own
existence and I lost a lot of schoolwork that I have to redo. :(

I see that Susan's xover is back. I've always wanted to see that one
finished (note: number 358763 on my things to do -- write something for
<that> xover...). %)

ObFK: "Love you to Death/To Die For" is on ATV tonight (Atlantic

slavery and watch it. I've never seen it in a non-fuzzy state. :)
