when you actually consider challenging Cousin Jamie in the "No Life"

On account of the fact that your partial dissability came with Post

*learn* how the H@*L to do anything, What's a @!*? FTP site? How do
you get there? But you have come to believe you will never ever be able
to get the i before e thing straight again. And the only time you leave the
cave is to go to Art school two times a week, and target practice bi-weekly.
(and the Doctors of course) And the people there(Art School) think you're
Psycho cuz your work is titled, "Near Death" , "This never happened" ,
"Dogs to the end" and the latest, "I would never kick a baby."
And they're always asking you where you got the barbed wire, or,
"did you *shoot* that?" and you wonder what *they* would do in bed with
LaCroix if they don't even know where to get barbed wire.....
But decide not to, cuz you do actually make your coffee while the messages
are flashing down, and sometimes you even wait till afternoon to get
involved,
cuz you're reading a really sick piece of fan fic...........
Okay Okay....you win Jamie, but only by the coffee margin.

As Allison and I both posted (a copy of a letter from our same sydie), the
syndicated stations will only be showing FK through September. I believe
the letter said (can't find it this quickly) that after this season FK
would be shown only on USA. Of course I have to assume that if they sent
it now it would say only on the SciFi channel.

Well you'd have a hard time making that stick. There was no mention of
additional fees anywhere. Not even in the source code. ;-)

The Mercs had better be savin all them gold coins. Because considering all

Found an online TV Guide on the web today [http:www.TV1.com/], searching
on the text 'vamp' it spit out that USA would be showing "Fever" this

It also turned up that next Wednesday (3-27) at 2:00 AM the Comedy channel

Subject: FK Shirts/Jackets

Ok, my idle handed little sister has asked me to make an offer to the
list:

She has been making me a jean jacket (as I mentioned before) with a very
nice adaptation of the FK logo on the back. And once she started doing
that she started making t-shirts.

The t-shirts come in black with the logo in white and individual
faction on the front pocket (unless you want *all* of your factions on
it, which won't fit on the pocket...mine has: "Natpacker * Nick&NatPacker
* Valentine" across the bottom of the back).

The shirts are good quality pre-shrunk cotton.

Jean jackets are either applicayed (sp!?) or painted, your choice.

And she and/or I can pretty put it on anything else you like too, for
that matter.

The costs are (plus shipping):

T-Shirts: $7
Jackets: $15 + cost of jacket (or you can send your own)

And if you want it on a vest or sweatshirt, or anything else, let me know
and we can figure it out.

If you are interested private e-mail me with SHIRT in the header.

And for anyone going to Toronto, if you are interested she will bring
them up so there won't be any shipping fees.

Let me know.

Back to your regularlly scheduled list...

But, from the one response I received from USA/SFC they made it very clear
that they are *not* planning on running FK on USA now or in the future, and
sent me the usual answer about talking to my cable company about adding their

You mean other than withdraw USA backing from FK, thereby shifting the
entire financial burdon back to Paragon, Tele-Muchen (sp?) and TriStar (a
burden, BTW, which TriStar seemed perfectly content to live with *before*
USA ever got involved, but...)? Thereby setting off the chain of events
that has gifted us with the opportunity to prove to the world how ingenious
people can be. How dedicated. How loyal. By forcing us to scramble and
rack our brains trying to come up with anything to save the show.

Let's see, then she flipped out when she heard that the NATPE 7 were at
the convention in Las Vegas, right?

And then, as a reward for all of our hard work, she has decided to run FK
on the SciFi Channel instead of USA. Oh, and of course, they are
*starting* with the end of the third season, before showing the first two.

My Russian heart is screaming "heretic" at this very moment....<shaking
head in shock> either you have *never* had truly good Russian Vodka or
you have very cruel taste buds. Good vodka has very little taste at all
(unless you drink it warm, which any good Russian will tell you is a
major no-no), you're supposed to drink it for the kick...and *extremely*
cold.

The first thing I did on my 21st B-day was buy a bottle of vodka (not
that I had to wait for my b-day, nobody ever cards anybody for anything
in NYC), and now I have a fabulous (half empty) bottle sitting in the
freezer.

Subject: FK Wishing Project-- update 3/21

People have inquired as to the deadline for mailing in thier cranes.

Well, it *was* 3/17, but we don't have 3000 cranes (one mobile for each Sony USA
executive) yet, so I'm extending it.

However, since we do have enough cranes at each gathering-point for one mobile
(or will, when the people who have e-mailed me recently for the address ship
thiers), I'm going to be consulting with my Regional Coordinators (Bonnie and
Viper) and deciding which one of them gets the remaining cranes, to assemble for
the third mobile.

Also, I'd like the List's opinion on whether we should also send a mobile (or
two) to the Sci-Fi Channel (does anyone have their address? Karen?) asking for
new episodes.

So consider the deadline for mailing folded cranes indefinitely extended, until
we decide how far we want to take this project.

Check out the FK Wishing Crane Project webpage
(http://www.execpc.com/~echelbar/fkcranes.html) if you need more information on
what we're doing and why. Or, if you're web-impaired, *private* e-mail me at
the address in my .sig file.

Also, I still have a very few NATPE bag/brochure/article combos available.
E-Mail me for details.

Also #2, Lana, how's the NATPE Bag & Ad Fund doing? Have we covered our costs
yet? How close are we? Please post current totals to the list, so we can all

I think this is one of those places where we agree to disagree. I
would give recent examples, but they're still under spoiler protection.
Suffice it to say there is plenty of evidence in Games Vampires Play
and Human Factor for the fact that Nick does as Nick pleases,
regardless of how Nat or anyone else (except LaCroix --sometimes) feels
about it.

>and in his own muddled way, I think that's one of the

funny - I think it's one of the things that annoys him about her. He
feels the need to put up with it, but he resents it.

>>BUT - imo there was immediate sexual attraction (and sparks flying)
>>when Nat and LC met for the first time.

>Well, there were certainly sparks flying, although if you mentioned
>"sexual attraction" to Nat, she'd probably a) laugh incredulously and
>b) tear your head off...

Which is beside the point, even if it were true. Denial does not mean
something doesn't exist; it just means one is unwilling to face it.

And regarding "tear your head off" -- I don't know where the Natpack
gets this idea that Natalie Lambert is superwoman, that she could take
LaCroix in a fight, etc. etc., but I don't buy any of that for one
second. If LaCroix decided she had outlived her usefulness, she would
live for precisely as long as it took him to drain her. Period.
Sorry, but that's the way it is, imo. I know there are others who wish
to believe otherwise, but I strongly _strongly_ disagree with them, and
I see no support for their position apart from wishful thinking.

>Regardless, both of them are far too emotionally guarded to ever let

Perhaps, as long as the status quo holds; but in a different
situation, I'm not sure that would remain true.

Hey, different strokes. You're entitled. Doesn't make me feel
differently though.

> You couldn't be more wrong. I saw it; I definitely saw it between
>'em. There was a DEFINITE instant mutual attraction btwn. Nick & Nat
>-- which is, I think, the ONLY reason Nick bothered sticking around

Whereas, in my view, she was fascinated by him from a medical
standpoint, and he was fascinated to discover a mortal who thought he
might be capable of redemption. Intellectual, not physical attraction.

But I should add this: I do think Nat is attracted to Nick, though I'm
not sure how much of that is physical attraction. I just don't think
the reverse holds. And, with rare exceptions, their body language when
they interact is to me purely platonic.

>>>considering the fact that Nick's been a total bitch to Nat

Nick being a bitch. :-)

>And the fact is, they make terrific adversaries; they're almost
>perfectly matched. Except that Nat is a little more self-aware than
>LaCroix, so in the final outcome, she'd probably win.

And, as I said above, I don't buy that for a millisecond. As with most
things in this world, rightly or wrongly, brute power wins.

>we've watched them develop a sort of mutual respect for each other;
>the beginnings of realization that both of them are essential to Nick,
>that he needs both of them, whether any of 'em like it or not. <snip>
>it's as if they represent the duality of Nick's existence: <snip>

I do agree with this point; in fact, I like the yin/yang aspect of
this between the two of them, both influencing and pulling Nick in
different directions. However, I also feel it necessary to point out
that we have only seen Nat and LC interact in relationship to Nick.
That was one of the problems with Janette as well: except in Fate
Worse Than Death, we rarely saw her interact with LaCroix, for example.
Defining the relationship between the two of them was therefore almost
impossible, because the evidence was so skimpy. As I said in my
earlier post, I think the available evidence of how Nat and LC would
interact apart from Nick is totally lacking and therefore wide open to
interpretation.

>But I believe that in this vital way, Nick is equally essential to
>them; and no relationship between Nat and LaCroix could happen without
>Nick in the equation somewhere. He is That Which Links Them Together.
> Without him, there are sparks, but no fire.

Again, I disagree. I think the evidence is totally lacking as to what
kind of relationship would exist between them, outside the context of
the Nick connection. But, as I said, I think because of the paucity of
available data, this can be interpreted virtually however one wishes.

>But I think there's much more to it than that; that the love between
>them would endure and survive beyond his cure.

Again, I have to strongly disagree, because I don't see that love, at
least not on Nick's part. I could see him needing her for awhile after
he became human (assuming he didn't get killed his first day out as a
reborn mortal, but that's another issue). But to me, it comes back to
the Meatloaf song: "I want you, I need you, there aint no way I'm ever
gonna love you." To me, that sums up the Nick perspective perfectly -
even if he doesn't view it that way on a conscious level. He puts up
with her *nagging* now, because he needs her. Once he was mortal, and
felt capable of fending for himself, he wouldn't.

>Now, there would be OTHER problems -- the fact that Nick is in no
>way prepared for humanity -- the fact that Nat would surely outgrow
>him swiftly -- but if both of them were prepared to spend the time and
>effort working out those problems,

Not a chance, imo.

>There are relationships that thrive on conflict.

>it doesn't necessarily apply on a global level.

Never said it did. But neither does the opposite apply globally
either. Some relationships sour because of conflict; others thrive,
and I'm not convinced that the Nat/LC relationship would not be of the
latter sort. Where conflict tears people apart, imo, is where there
are difficulties in self-esteem issues, so a person under fire takes
the argument as a personal attack. Where self-esteem and
self-assurance is high, I don't think the same holds true. Since I see
both Nat and LC as fairly confident in themselves, I don't see conflict
as tearing them apart.

If, indeed, conflict between them is inevitable. And I don't assume
that either.

>>we all do bring our personal baggage to whatever we watch.

I think we all do. But realistically speaking, any person's
"objectivity" is based on the sum total of their life's experiences,
and therefore must be suspect. None of us are capable of total
objectivity.

Oh sorry, that's "Lucky in Houston" as Tippi wrote earlier. :) My mistake!

>>We here in Houston are verrrry lucky! We get Highlander at 9 PM followed
by FK at 10 PM on Saturdays.<<

I'm so glad you pointed that out. I knew there must be SOME reason why I
lived in this boringly flat, hillless, hot and humid city. It couldn't be
for the fun of driving back and forth along Red Bluff to school everyday
could it?
I just can't wait for the FKCD to come out. My car is crying out for good
music to blast to the neighborhood.

I also wanted to sympathize with Jasmine the Faithful about the ratings
thing. I hate the "Offical" Sony website. If that was all fans had to go by
we'd be floating out in the boonies searching for each other. Is it just me
or does that little TV they have with the moon on it bother you too? It
always makes me think of werewolves, not vampires. And their picture and
sound collection...not exactly astouding. I won't even begin to talk about
how mad it makes me to hear about them ripping off everyone's work, like the
timeline and Jamie's graphics, I'll just growl about it.

As for them giving Sony four stars and Jasmine three, doesn't this almost
sound like some kind of Sony inspired slap in the face? Like when they call
out your name for runner up in the Miss America contest, and then call your
most hated acquaintence from high school as the winner, who you then have to
act happy for as she stalks past you to receive her crown while you get some
crappy flowers? If anyone else should be getting stars it should be Jamie
for her most up-to-date, informative, helpful, and inspiring webpage.
Tell Magellan that!! But at *least* they did give the "unoffical" site
something, although now it kind of serves to make everyone a little more mad
at the way the world works. <sigh>

Well I'm starting a fun little series of old time looking portraits for my
ftp site. It's a series of one at the moment but there should be more.
Since I never want to be accused of ripping off things like the big
companies do <grrr!> I'll be including a disclaimer (soon) saying that these
aren't my pics in *any* way, I'm just screwing around with them.

I've been trying to find out about the US FK Fan Club. As I said, I've sent
my money, follow up correspondence E-mail. Nothing from them...not a peep. My
check hasn't been cashed, as far as I know...

It will cost me ten dollars to stop payment on my check, that's pretty
expensive for nothing...no membership. I really wanted to get info from this
fan club. I guess it just irks me. In the FK universe of these lists this is
the first time that I've really been disappointed. But...it's been a bad day
and I'm raving. Sorry.

Any help with tracking down info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi again --

Last week, I sent a response to the Sci-Fi Channel's plea for help
regarding the running order of FK. Actually, all I did was point them to
Jasmine's award-winning page & its episode guide. I also requested that
they try to show the Canadian versions of the 1st season episodes, and
asked about the possibility of FK movies in the future.

Herein is a copy of their response. Some interesting info in there.

So *hey* everyone, our next task is to make sure that FK is *very*
popular on Sci-Fi!

Ideas:

Someone already mentioned Sci-Fi Buzz, the Sci-Fi Channel's half-hour
weekly show on happenings in the sf/horror business. (BTW, the only
reason I ever watched FK in the first place was because I saw an
intriguing and amusing interview with GWD on Sci-Fi Buzz!) We should
encourage them to do another FK segment. This would help the channel
expand viewership of FK on their network, as well as promote the show.
Of course, this requires that GWD, NB, one of the other cast members, or
someone like Jim Parriott or Nick Gray agree to do an interview with
Sci-Fi Buzz. Actually, Sci-Fi Buzz also goes to conventions from time to
time -- maybe someone could invite them to Toronto Trek and its FK
mini-con in August?

Can the FK production folks send up a prop or two for the Sci-Fi Buzz
studio? Something obviously Forever Knight related?? I think they
should send a bottle-o-blood and the picture that hangs over Nick's
fridge.

Can someone post Barry Schulman's address so we can send him & the Sci-Fi
Channel people some Goodies? I think Annmarie said it's supposed to be
the same as Kay Koplovitz's address, which is [Address removed], but I'd
like to have his full title as well. I think the Philadelphia gang can manage
another box of specially wrapped "Forever Hersheys" bars!

Other ideas???

Finally, on an unrelated note, according to a post I just saw on
alt.tv.forever-knight, the "pristine" Caddy was purchased by R. Scott
Hedrick. He posted this info himself and said:

"If FK Productions brings the show back, I will not rule out letting
them use the caddy I purchased."

To everone, thanks for the help. And for all thoes who asked way computer
won't go to web sites, its because (dad said) it's unstable. I'll go to a web
site and get about 3/4 of the way there and the computer tilts to the left then
crashes in a pile of fried wiers and smashed computer chips. OK so maybe it
don't do that exactally, but it's pritty close. I will try several of the
suggestions though.

Chana,

I agree, it was a smart move on their part and I'm sure they knew that
they would have all of us out there requesting the SciFi channel and
bombarding the cable companies with the same type of determination that we
used on them.

But, lets look at the other side. FK didn't belong on the USA channel. With
the exception of the Highlander and MacGyver reruns, the shows on USA are
mostly geared to a male audience. Come to think of it, these two shows are
too! Ok, so Adrian Paul is easy on the eyes and the show is fun, but it is
still a male show. Sword fights etc. Macgyver over there doing that, male
"saving the day" rountine. Then theres Silk Stalkings, male show. Weird
Science, another breast and leg show (for teens). Lets not forget Baywatch
and Baywatch Nights and that new Baywatch on bicycles rip-off and the ever
popular Breasts on Campus show. Throw in the Tuesday night fights and. ....
oops..how could I forget WWF Wrestling! Are we seeing a pattern here?

Please, don't get me wrong, I am not bashing males, its just that aside from
the Tuesday night fights, most of the guys I know (and I work with 98%
males) don't watch this garbage. But somebody does. Putting FK on the SFC,
in an element where it belongs, drawing the type of audience that it needs,
is exactly what might breathe new life into this show. They are bringing it
to an audience that is intelligent enough to appreciate a fine show without
the need for boobs flying by every 10 seconds in order to hold their attention.

I'm glad that you are staying positive! I hope that we can all find
something positive in this.
And no, in case anyone is wondering, I don't get the SFC, I'm out there
having to fight for it like the rest of you.
