Shouldn't they get buttons, as in Tracy's nickname?

re: Vachon.

His leader was Pizarro (Vachon said so in his first episode, and he would
know).

Not Cortez (wrong continent).

And certainly NOT Pissarro (he was a French painter).

Okay?

It occurs to me that when we get a fourth season ("WHEN," she said, with
grimly determined optimism)... those of us who not only can gulp down a
shot of Ribena without flinching or grimacing (a feat that most of the
Cousins could not match, btw) but actually are coming to *enjoy* the stuff
would be perfect as background-color extras for the Raven...

Hey, we are the few -- the proud -- the voluntary Ribena drinkers. We
oughta get a *medal* for that.

something to do with my time): :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) and the same old

Sorry, don't be angry with me - I'm not blatantly doing it - I'm just hitting
the wrong address on this silly Compuserve. All I can see when I pick the
address is "Multiple Recipients of..." and the first letter. Sorry gang, I'm
not that stupid - just not totally familiar with this Compuserv mailbox stuff
yet.

I'm going back to AOL as soon as possible.

I'm looking for Linda Pierce; she emailed me, and I lost it. Linda, write
me again...?

ObFK and the main point of this post: Ribena, for the uninitiated, is the
stuff they use for "blood" in FK. It's some kind of syrup (blackberry,
boysenberry, blackcurrant, I forget) that is supposed to be diluted, but
when used for blood, is drunk straight -- and it is sweet, a sticky cloying
sweetness that lingers in the throat for a loooooong time. Non-alcoholic,
so the budding bartender need not be embarrassed for her non-knowledge; and
it's English in origin, I think, so it's a little difficult to get here in
the US.

However, it is absolutely obligatory to have a bottle of Ribena at FK
parties -- masochistically, everyone takes the tiniest sip, shudders, and
then stares at the 7/8 of the bottle that's left. Except for Zillah's
party, where we actually drained half the bottle.

I thought his leader was Pizzaro? Y'know, the guy with the mozzarella
cheese & tomato sauce?

(Don't throw things. I'm going away now.)

Just wondering: was that John Kapelos on Quantum Leap this afternoon? It
was the 1950s archeology dig in Egypt one . . . and JK was the bad guy.
Looked like him, but sure didn't sound like him. (You have to understand
that I rarely recognize actors in different roles. Duh.)

Okay. I'm thinking about coordinating a party in the Southeast at some time
in the future, though Atlanta's going to be a bloody zoo with the Olympics
coming. So how would I or other potential party-throwers go about getting a
bottle of this stuff? I wouldn't gather they carry it at the local Food
Mart.

First of all, danke to all who told me what Ribena is.

Second, where do I get some? I'm feeling a bit nuts at the moment, and want
to attempt the stuff. If anyone had any kind of ordering info or the
name/address/phone# of anywhere that sells it in the US, PLEASE send it to
me in private mail. If anyone knows of any stores in Oklahoma, Texas,
Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, or Louisiana, I'm willing to drive that far
(hey, what can I say? Spring break is next week!).

Going off now to sleep before class!

Lisa,

BRUTAL? Hallo? Have you been introduced to the Character LaCroix?

First off, for you non sportspersons, moving target practice is no fun against
an inferior opponent. In fact a superior opponent is a luscious commodity.
Who could ask for a better friend than one who can, and will, take you on?
If we took ourselves seriously we *Would* be on the MassMurderersFiction
 List (from Cousin Celeste-"Special")
"When you have a friend in the Nightcrawler, who needs enemies?" LC

Secondly, I agree with Barbara, I don't care if you do or do not wear clean
underwear. I find most of the self depreciating college kid humour on this list
to be quite amusing. I enjoyed the "this is my brain.....This is my brain
on FK one." wharever it was she said, I had to laugh. Lisa, ya gotta Chill,
go get some chocolate and some Tab and enjoy your bi-weekly movie night.

Not just that, but John also appears this month on THE LATE SHIFT (about the TV
nighttime talk show "war" between Leno and Letterman) on HBO. The character's
relation between him and Letterman isn't exactly clear, but I think he plays
Letterman's agent, manager or lawyer.

Ex....cuuuuuussssss me.

Cousin Cherri here.

Not only do I drink Ribena straight up. I love the stuff. I have a sweet
tooth that won't quit. <vwg>

And YES. I'd love to be in that shot, enjoying the favorite beverage.

Sorry Stephanie, it's not carried in the local food marts. Try a British
import store or a Chinese market.

Look, Ma, four lines! <g>

To all you potential FK Party Sponsors:

Try an "Oriental Grocery Store". Y'know, the ones that carry fresh bamboo
shoots, mu shu wrappers, etc, etc.... Ribena is usually in the beverage
section. It comes in big bottles (like the old quart soda bottles, if you're old
enough to remember those) and in Madison, WI, it runs about $6 a bottle. This
is for the concentrate, of course.

OBFK-- (no, I don't, personally, consider where to buy Ribena an on-topic
subject, okay?)-- What do you all think happened to Alyce after "Dark Knight"?
(Assuming you care. <g>) Is she still out there? Is she dead? Why? Why not?

Becky Burns got the bottle we drank this weekend at Zillah's party at
an oriental market (go figure!). BUT she called places for *days*
before she found it. So let your fingers do the walking. Just don't
bother with liquor stores. It's non alcoholic.
