Garrett" <susang@v.......> Subject: Sony Survey I got through the Sony Survey fine. Yes, it is to collect addresses and interest. 'They' want to know who we are. I don't doubt that this information will be used in conjunction with SciFi's acquisition of FK. 'Season finale' is a polite euphemism for 'gee, don't be pissed at us because we cancelled your show, especially since we need you people to watch the episodes on Sci-Fi.' Sci-Fi is showing the 13 episodes they bought of this season. They are showing season one (CBS cuts, no shot in heck of Canadian) and season two. They are either in the process of negotiating or buying the remaining episodes from this season (which they backed out of in a flagrant attempt to kill new FK episodes), which they will then advertise as 'original' and 'unaired' (because if it hasn't been shown on the SciFi channel, it hasn't been shown anywhere). And we're going to let them do it. Why? Because we have hope of bringing this series back. We have hope that eventually someone at TriStar will realize that there's money to be made from new episodes or TV movies of FK because SciFi is a viable market (or syndication or whatever). We have some hope that someone else who wants to buy FK might wear down TriStar enough to pick up the package as is and produce new and better episodes. So, we thank Sci Fi for showing FK. We thank USA for letting SciFi show FK. We thank TriStar for selling USA those extra episodes and showing FK. And we ask-- We ask for merchandise. We ask for professional, uncut video tapes. We ask for a new series. We ask for TV movies. We ask for the moon. And for a quick reality check--no, there were NOT two endings filmed. The information we have right now states that there were a number of scripts floating around, but that one script and ONE ending was filmed. If ANYONE knows factually to the contrary, the information would be appreciated. Judging from this, it looks like SFC will be doing what USA was doing earlier this season, airing the episodes *after* they aired in syndication. At least that's what it looks like judging from this, although I suppose it could just mean that they'll air whatever USA owns (first 13 of season 3) until the show is done in first run syndication. Anyone know for sure? Also does this mean new episodes start on April 20th? I suppose they think this is some kind of great big favor they're doing us here. But it does also mean that USA worked something out with TriStar about the rest of season 3. Of course, *after* the scumbags withdrew their financial support. Wonder if this means that USA kicked in money on those last few episodes? Anyway, my next round of letters is going out on Monday. I'm getting sick and tired of being jerked around by these people. By the way, I have been letting my recently turned four year old watch first and second season tapes with me. She just loves it, and she's so perceptive. After the first episode she asked me who was Nick's master. (Now how does a four year old know that some vampires have masters?) And she also said, "Those people can't figure out he's a vampire, can they? She's not really interested in the vampire stuff, though. She's enthralled by the Nick\Janette\Natalie love triangle. She just hates Janette (Sorry, Ravenettes) and she thought it was so funny when Natalie threw popcorn on Nick in "Cherry Blossoms". Do the Nick and NatPackers have an age requirement? Speaking of factions, I don't have one either. I'm new to this list, and I'm not sure how one goes about getting one. Does one just announce their affiliation, or do you have to be sponsored? I have watched all the second season and third season shows, and now, thanks, to a very nice person, I am currently viewing the first season. I have also written a little harmless fanfiction. SciFi has been friendly to us in the SOS-FK effort from the start, even to the point of being willing to risk the wrath of USA Network, its owner, by carrying a mention and a link to our SOS-FK efforts on their page. They can't help their corporate ownership. Assume they are friends and allies. I think it was Cousin Lisa who said that anywhere FK fans are invited, we should show up in droves. I hope someone has sent them a full and correct list of eps starting with season one. To the extent that running order might be different from filming order, it might be helpful and friendly to point those things out to them. It wouldn't hurt to impress them, either. SOS-FK caused a great deal of talk in their industry because of its professionalism; let's keep that up. It will be even more impressive if we don't dissolve and disappear because we suffered the setback of not getting the fourth season (continuous with the third) we were initially aiming for. Also, bear in mind that SciFi is now the ONLY exposure that FK is going to have for some time. The very best thing that could happen in terms of keeping the audience growing and alive would be for the show to get stripped the way Highlander is on USA; who knows, if SciFi likes us enough, maybe they'll do it. In the meantime, those of us whose local cable systems don't yet carry SciFi Channel have some letter writing to do. Just think how impressive it would be if their coverage increased because of us.
