Whatever the song was written for, does it really matter? One thing I've come
to realize, thanks to a college prof who thinks everything is symbolic, is
that there is no one interpretation of any work. That is obvious from the
many different ideas generated from each episode.

While M Etheridge's song may have been written for one thing, I think looking
at it from a different POV makes it much more fun! Anyway, doesn't the world
revolve around Nick?! Since he has invaded my dreams for the last few
nights, I definately think my world revolves around him!! Maybe I need to be
concerned, but a little insanity is too much fun!!

It was interesting that when Lacroix popped up in Chicago, Nick dropped
the Scottish accent.

Subject: USA Response/ It's an Official Cold Day in Hell!

Well after countless e mails and public posts to USA Network and Scifi
Channel I have finally gotten a response! It's official, today is the coldest
day in hell!

Hope I didn't break the rules on quoting more than 4 lines of dialogue, but I
thought it would make more sense to post everything rather than taking text
out of context.
If someone else has posted feedback too, I'm sorry, I'm on digest.

True places like Exposures will not touch copyrighted materials, however,
try your local photo place--take in a quality color copy and just do it.

for them.

Subject: Copyright & art for FK fans

I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV, but I HAVE done some research
in the past on copyright and fandom (self-preservation due to some of the
crazed ideas running around and besides it fascinates me).

Fanzines are infringement of copyright--period. As is fan fiction if it
appears in a fixed form (the courts have dropped conflicting definitions on
'fixed form' and the Internet, so don't panic yet). As is artwork <if it is
a reproduction of an original>.

So, if you're an artist and you draw a picture of Nick, or you make a
collage from TV pictures, or you paint a silk tie with FK images and themes,
the original piece of artwork is NOT copyright infringement. You can keep
it, you can sell it, you can do whatever the heck you want with it . . . but
the original is covered under artistic fair use. If, however, you draw a
picture of LaCroix and put it on T-shirts to sell, or it is printed as a
cover or interior art in a fanzine or sold as an art print, then it IS
copyright infringement (as to who it infringed upon, that gets messy, but
the people with the biggest lawyers usually go first and the carrion eaters
get what's left).

This is one of the reasons the SOS-FK people have been so careful about what
images have been used in the campaign to save the show.

If you want to chat about the state of copyright, you can e-mail me off-list
(I LOVE getting new information on this topic).
