Even if we can get the Sci-Fi station, what happens
to the episodes that were done after USA pulled its
support? We need a way to have Forever Knight
shown from beginning to end. The episodes need to
be shown in the correct order, if there is such a
thing. I also don't think they should be shown five
nights a week, because it takes time to think about
and absorb each one. I know 7 days is an awfully
long time to wait; I wish we could have a 3 or 4
day waiting period, but I don't think we can get
the calendar changed..

How do you get a direct Internet link (as opposed to AOL
or Prodigy or some other service?
Is this something where the Sci-Fi channel actually shows
what it's televising, or is this just Sci-Fi's attempt to create
more interest in their channel?

Two biggest problems with "Hearts of Darkness" -

It wasn't about the main characters.

There was far too much explanation about the theme,
i.e. "It's all because we were abandoned by our
fathers", instead of letting us watch things and
bringing our own interpretations to them.

Oh well, even the great (which Forever Knight is)
can be allowed to mess up once in a while.
Just as long as they don't do it again!

Speaking of "LC Lite"... The consensus seems to be that the first half
of the third season is, essentially, Uncle on prozac. Do I have that
right? Or is the whole season considered a waste of NB's formidable
talents? I still haven't seen anything before this season -- though I
soon will, thanks to the incredible generosity of a few marvelous
listmembers :) -- but I have always been impressed by LC in what I have
seen, and I wonder if any of it is considered "Classic LC." In a similar
train of thought, the recent discussion of which season you'd take to the
proverbial desert isle has reminded me that N&N weren't always more than
friends. When did this transition take place? A single episode? Over a
season? Between seasons?

Subject: Re: Casting - Rosen & Guilden

I have to agree w/ [Name removed by request], who suggested Nick as Rosencrantz
& LaCroix as Guildenstern -- perfect. Rosen is always experimenting
with inventions, while Guilden stands by and rolls his eyes.
And the word match games R&G play would be such fun reworked as
LaCroix trying to outwit Nick (picture Nick actually winning one:
child-like joy and gloating). Plus, the constant coin flipping
always turning up the same fate for Rosencrantz (signifying that
their fate is sealed, they're already DEAD). Plus, Guilden slurping
away at that fresh fruit.... I've taken this too far. I'll nip
off and shoot myself. But the problem remains: they're pawns.
And that means Hamlet and Ophelia and the stabbing behind the tapestry
would all have to be the 'case of the week,' so to speak. Hmm.
(Not Vachon, Tracy, and Daddy -- I'm not going there -- Vachon
doesn't have the angst for it.)

Well, yeah, Erik...

But what if the reason for sticking Tracy in was that, somewhere down the
line, they were planning to have Nick lose Nat?

Just a thought, of course...

OK - here I go, hopping aboard the casting bandwagon. <g>

What if the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation were to put on a
stage production of Forever Knight? The casting might look something
like this:

Nick - Picard (he's eloquent at portraying angst, or any other emotion)
Natalie - Dr. Beverly Crusher, of course (she's a doctor, and she's even
          got the hair)
Janette - Deanna Troi would make a fetching Janette
Schanke - Data (another chance to do a comic role)
LaCroix - Q would no doubt drop in to play this role. And no one but Q
could do LaCroix (and torment Nick/Picard properly)
Vachon - um... Riker? (in a wig?) <g>
Aristotle (or Merlin) - Geordi LaForge (the expert at technobabble)
Miklos - Guinan (bartender extraordinaire)

And Barclay would want to do something, so they'd let him be Screed. ;-)

I have gotten VERY little mail today; and LESS from FORKNI-L or FKFic-L. I
hope everyone out there is ---well????

Posted for Joanna the Wolfish Wonderpup and her Tyger Trybe:

WoooWoooWoo-uffff. {that is an uncanny approximation of her 'talking'}.
Gentle folk--I am somewhat confused by the animosity flying back and forth
between woofpackers and feline four-footeds on the list. We are all
carnivores! We all have 4 feet--unlike our poor companions who must balance
and totter around on 2. This business of historical natural animosity is
a myth made up by the {speciest} PTB in order to divide natural allies if
the SOS-FK consortium. Just as Vampires in Toronto rarely resort to
(whisper) <murder> to gain sustenance, a dog or cat with the sense to bond
with a *proper* human companion will *not* be forced to slaughter tough and
meatless--errr, really, I meant sweet and blameless, honest, I heard Max and
nasty SharPei next door say that--anyway, where was I??--Ahh--we don't need
to kill eachother when we should all be working together to save out human's
favorite show. I happen to live with an awful lot of feline persons, and
they really are okay once you get to know them. The cat who claims to own
Carla, MY human, always grooms me before we go to sleep and NEVER puts out
his claws......that's all for now.

Really? I saw Nick Knight after I'd been watching FK for about half a
season (near the end of season 2) and I HATED it. I thought Rick
Springfield was nowhere near as yummy as Ger and that guy they got to play
LaCroix was just annoying. And they were all ugly when they vamped out.
My little sis was watching NK just two days ago and I still can't sit
through the whole thing.

I don't actually remember what Janette was like in the movie, and I'm not
willing to watch it again to find out.

Does anyone agree with me? Or do y'all think I'm totally nuts? (Well...I
am nuts, but in a *good* way!)

But what about Alfred? Having played said role, however small, myself, I'd
hate to think the little fella was overlooked. I suggest Tracy.

And as for LC...NEVER Ros or Guil...he'd be The Player...the guy who, it
seems, knows everything, and bedevils our two heroes the whole way.

Besides, he's got one of the best lines in the whole play: "Don't you SEE?
We're ACTORS! We're the OPPOSITE of PEOPLE!"

The same could be said for members of the Community.
