I don't think it's disloyal at all. It's just amusing and interesting and
fun. Of course we'd all prefer the current cast which is why I put that
condition in the original post.

I particularly liked the Muppet casting from Val King. Mary Steenbergen
for Nat is good too--didn't think of that one.

How about a movie with Tracy Ullman in every role? (And you know she could
do it, too!) <g>

And yes, Ken and Emma. Would be too cool.

It is time to renew your driver's license and you ponder wearing your
fangs.... hmmm... will they notice??? will they make me take them out? can
they refuse me??

*hey* wait a minute.... I'm a *cousin*. I can do *whatever* I want!!! I pay
taxes, therefore, the people at motor vehicles <kinda> work for me!!

So off we go to DMV <with fangs in place>, wait til the video camera is
ready and *smile*! The woman *really* looked at that camera intently,
started to smile, then laughed! So my license for the next four years will
have *fangs*!!!

I have attached a jpeg picture to this post so those that wish to see them
(or me) can download it!!

Anyone else have a 'vamped out' license??? Or am I the first on the block???

Who would it be a compliment to? To GWD or to KB? Personally I think KB
would pale (ooh, pun) in comparison to GWD's portrayal, but then who
wouldn't from a non-tv FK cast?

It's 'Branagh' btw.

The action packed cast:

Just a little trivia for those that picked Mary Steenburgen..her first movie

Just to make it perfectly clear... the reason I need Air Canada info is so
that I can write them and tell them that I am BOYCOTTING their sorry
airline.

Anyone who wants to know why can e-mail me; but there is certainly NO WAY I
am going to endorse their services to anyone.

Think of it this way: Air Canada = TriStar...

Ooooooh, I'm tired. Me not think before me speak.

Air Canada has NOTHING to do with TriStar or with Forever Knight. I have a
problem with Air Canada, but that is PERSONAL, and relates to the manner in
which Air Canada treats its consumers. I do not in any way wish to imply
that there is ANY connection between the two.

What I meant by that statement (Air Canada=TriStar) is that I tend to think
of both entities in the same general terms, i.e. dartboards, pots of
boiling oil, etc.

But my distaste for Air Canada has nothing to do with the SOSFK effort
whatsoever; it's just my personal opinion, not any kind of statement of
'policy'.

Just thought I ought to make that clear.

The great detective, Nicholas Knight? He doesn't exist. I invented him.

I always loved excitement and adventure, so I studied, and apprenticed, and put
my name on an office. But absolutely no one came knocking on my door. A female
medical examiner just seemed so-- feminine.

So I invented a detective. A decidedly *masculine* detective. Suddenly, there
were autopsies line up around the block. It was working perfectly, until *he*
showed up on my slab, with his blue eyes and mysterious past. Before I knew it,
he had assumed Nicholas Knight's identity.

Now, I do the work and he takes the bows. It's a dangerous way to live, but as
long as people buy it, I can get the job done.

Ok...how about the Mel Brooks version of FK: The Movie. (Maybe it
would be better than his Dracula?? I like Mel Brooks, but in his last
few films, he seems to be "losing his touch."

Nick: (Old brooks film: Gene Wilder); new: Carry Elwes
LaCroix: Leslie Nielsen ?? Roger Reese?? Danny De Vito!
Nat: Emma Thompson (she can be *very* funny)
Capt. Reese: Mel Brooks (or maybe Cleavon Little, if time weren't a
problem.)
Vachon: Hugh Grant, with a hideous wig. (He'd also be a good Louis
if Brooks did IWTV.)
Jeanette: Madelein Khan (sp?)
Screed: Cloris Leachman; Marty Feldman (if time weren't a problem)
Denis Leary suggestion was also good.
Schanke: John Candy? (if time...etc.)

Ok...so some of these "suck". Just brainstorming....I'd love to see
the script for the Mel Brooks version of FK, though...

That's kind of the point. KB is really good, but he couldn't hold a candle
to GWD, and would only be considered if we couldn't have GWD.

The movie talk has reminded me of an exquisite little article I read some
years back, just *before* Hollywood's latest round of vamp films. It
pictured the *real* Dracula meeting with the *real* Lestat to complain
about how the media was treating them... If I could find it, I'd *love*
to write Nick into the conversation! :)

Casting? Last year, I'd have suggested Thompson and Branagh for Nat and Nick.

And dispite the break-up of their marriage, I'd still pair Emma Thompson
as Natalie, against Branaugh's Nick. They make a wonderful pair acting
together. I LOVED "Much Ado About Nothing" with Thompson as Beatrice,
and Branaugh as Benedict. Another wonderful pairing is Thompson and Sir
Anthony Hopkins (re: The Remains of The Day). So I'd pick Hopkins for
LaCroix.
