The basic plot is that the Metro Police are holding a fund-raiser for their scholarship fund. A date auction, to be precise. And *all* our favorite second season characters (plus Tracy, but I couldn't find a way to work in Vachon) are being 'auctioned off' to the highest bidder. People on the list had a chance to send in 'bids' on the character of their choice. If they won the bid, they got to write (or find someone to write) the story of their 'date'. Part one (which I will send on request) set up how everybody got roped into participating, and what you got for your virtual money. Part two explains what happened at the auction, and who won who. Parts 3-9 will be the actual dates, written by the winners. Next best is the velvet tunic he was wearing in Human Factor. [snip] >2. The song playing in the background at the Raven in "Human Factor" when LC >and Janette are having their "talk" Please, someone tell me, is that Dark Side of the Moon? I love that song! Does anyone with good ears have the lyrics to send to me? I caught one line in it during HF that I really liked: "Start the masquerade without me." (To the Fang Gang... yes, I'm going to use that in the War!) OK, you talked me into it: In airdate order: First season: 1. 1966 2. Only the Lonely 3. Feeding the Beast Second season: 4. The Fix 5. Be My Valentine 6. A More Permanent Hell 7. Curiouser and Curiouser Third Season 8. Night in Question 9. Sons of Belial 10. Why does she want Nick to be human again? Because she wants his body, thats why! She always yells at Nick for backsliding and then goes and does something just as stupid, but nothing ever happens to her! She too has her bad side. Well, I think I need to get some sleep now... Allow me to offer some belated assistance... I have *body parts* that I'd be happy to work Vachon into, let alone a story [did I just totally gross everyone out? see ya on jadfe...] Apache ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Feb 1996 22:59:09 -0500 From: Robbi Egersdorf <egersdor@m.......> Subject: <No subject given> Someone please help me. Very good. The asst. listowner is proud of you. Especially since she should have done that herself, and didn't. >Nat is bad. That is all there is to it. Why does she want Nick to be >human again? Because she wants his body, thats why! 'Scuse me... Nick is the one who wants to be human. Who has searched desperately for any possible way to become human. Are you under the misapprehension that Nat's trying to turn him human against his will? Sorry, but that's just not so. And there is ample evidence that the attraction between them is VERY much mutual. >She always yells at Nick for backsliding and then goes and does something just as stupid, >but nothing ever happens to her! 'Scuse me... Nat has lost more than any other character on the show, with the possible exception of Nick; and if you gauge it proportionately with the length of their respective lifespans, she's endured a significant amount of trauma. She has lost everything from friends to family members to vehicles. She's made mistakes that nearly cost Nick his life, at least twice that I can think of. Natalie most definitely DOES pay for her mistakes, more so (often) than Nick does. >She too has her bad side. Of course she does. That was, in fact, the point of my post. Nat has a dark side; she makes mistakes -- but that's part of who she is, ALL the time. Not like Nick, who is sometimes Good-Nick and sometimes Bad-Nick (hence the Knightie/Dark Knightie dichotomy). Natalie is just Natalie, dark and light and strong and weak all in one, and doing her best to cope with an uncertain world despite all that. In fact, the distinguishing characteristic of a Natpacker is the ability to recognize that capacity in her, that potential for both good and evil, which is her greatest weakness and her greatest strength; so a dark Nattie, being one who has taken the time to analyze Natalie to the point of realizing her complexity, is by DEFINITION a Natpacker. QED. Which is why I'm a Natpacker now. Not just because Sharon shanghaied me into it. <g> -- KEEP THE FAITH! -- Jamie M.R. <immajer@p.......> SFK WebGoddess -- Asst.
