Hi Diane,

Did you get your eps? I'll be borrowing a vcr during the first week of
March and will happily make copies.

Hi Jason:

FK is not commercially available at the moment. But the Due South pilot
(2 hours) costs $80(!), _if_ you can find it. That may give you some
idea what to expect if/when FK does show up in your local video store.

If you're looking for someone to dub a set of tapes for you, the cost
is going to depend on what you want. A full (48 eps) set in SP mode on
24 hi-grade tapes will cost a minimum of $112 for the tapes alone,
taxes included. Postage will run around $50-60 (I'm guessing on this
because I've never sent a full set in one lot). Obviously, EP on el
cheapo tapes will cost a lot less.

The above FYI.

<< Nick has the loft; Tracy has an apartment; Natalie has... the morgue?
>>

First season (Only the Lonely) Nat lived in That Orange Thing (tm). Val
Meachum always described it as a Japanese restaurant. It was in the
building where Erica (from Last Act), the women from the spa (If Loosk
Could Kill), the organ clinic (Let No Man Tear Asunder) and Cal (Fever) all
lived. :-) Musta been a noisy place--no wonder she moved out (though I
like to think it's because Nick and Dorian trashed her apartment *and* her
reputation in Sue Garrett's _Kind Soul_).

Second season she moved into a very nice apartment (Undue Process, BMV and
AMPH). Come to think of it, the last time we saw *that* apartment, Nick
actually *was* trashing it.

Third season Nat's apartment set obviously became Tracy's apartment set. A
lot of the NatPack feel kind of cheated over that--would have been nice to
see her place, particularly in this last new episode (nope, no spoilers
here . . .).

Subject: The Best of the Rest (long)

I agree with the general consensus that the first two seasons were better in
many ways than much of the 3rd season, but I think the great thing about this
show is that there is something for everyone!

I, for one, liked "Outside the Lines" for the tough Nick that we got to see
and for the sparks between Nick and Bruce Spenser. And I love "The Games
Vampires Play" although I won't go into that because of spoiler protection.
But I watch that one over and over and over! Of course, I'm a Dark
Knightie, which explains that, for TGVP was definitely a Dark Knightie
episode.

Truthfully, I love them all! There is something in EVERY episode that I
like, but then, I'm not hard to please. I will admit, however, that I cannot
bring myself to watch certain episodes again or at least very often. "The
Human Factor" is one, and "I Will Repay" is another. There are some things in
those episodes too painful to watch often. I don't like all episodes equally
and I do have my absolute favorites.

Speaking of Top Ten Lists, I'm sure it would be interesting to see everyone's
top ten episodes so far! (Knowing we have four more left)

I wonder if I could stop at ten...

(season in parentheses)

1. Dark Knight (1)
2. Night in Question (3)
3. A More Permanent Hell (2)
4. Feeding the Beast (1)
5. Killer Instinct (2)
6. Dance by the Light of the Moon (1)
7. Be My Valentine (2)
8. The Games Vampires Play (3)
9. Sons of Belial (3)
10. Curiouser and Curiouser (2)

Wow, was this hard to limit myself to ten! I can't claim that this is the
order in which I like them, either! And I had to leave out many other
favorites. So I won't!

11. A Fate Worse Than Death (2)
12. Fever (3)
13. Stranger Than Fiction (2)
14. Last Act (1)
15. Crazy Love (2)
16. Partners of the Month (2)

I'll stop there! Hope you notice that I have favorites in all three seasons!
4 - 1st season
8 - 2nd season
4 - 3rd season
Now watch, when I get home and look at the titles on my tapes, I'll have to
add more!

Oh, BTW, I'm staying on the list too, of course. I can't imagine not! I
want badly to discuss 1st and 2nd season eps for one thing. And how about
categorizing the episodes?
Suggestions:
Funniest Episodes
Best LC Episodes
Best Schanke Episodes
Best Nat Episodes
Best Janette Episodes (I think someone already posted a list of these)
etc.
Best Cop Stuff Episodes
Best Vampire Stuff Episodes
(I'm trying to be positive here)
Best Episodes for Music (yay, Fred!)
Best Direction
oh, I'm sure there are many more possibilities!

God, I miss Schanke and Janette. And ohhhh, I do love this show!

(we'll never let it stop)

So filled with guilt and shame was he
He tried to mend his ways
And vowed to cease forever his bloodsucking days
(his bloodsucking days)

His master was a mighty vamp
Annoyed with his wayward son
He'll never stop pursuing him 'til the battle he has won
(the battle he has won)

Well, he has Nat to help him now
She's searching for a cure
And she had better find it soon or he'll be damned for sure
(or he'll be damned for sure)

He's fighting for what's right

An ftp site (comes from file transfer protocol) is a computer that you
can connect to in order to download or upload files. Files can be
anything - text or binary (like images or sound files). When people talk
about ftp sites they are usually referring to *anonymous* ftp sites that
anyone can log onto and download goodies from. This list has a site:

ftp.cac.psu.edu

and the fk stuff is located in the directory

/pub/people/lms5

In order to access it, you need to know how your ftp software works, so
contact your internet service provider for help (or find someone who uses
your system and get them to help you).

Since I don't use AOL (conservative censors that they are) I can't help
you directly. But if anyone needs help from a mainframe or .edu account I
can probably help. Email me *privately*.

This site has lots of cool FK stuff - please check it out! FTP-ing isn't
really that hard once you understand the terminology.

Subject: The SOS-FK campaign

Way back in December when we first got the news, I remember posting that
we're going to have to be in on this for the long haul. For a while there,
I thought we'd succeed, and it wouldn't be so long a fight. It *shouldn't*
have to be a long fight when you think about everything we've done.
Unfortunately, that's a function of *who* we're dealing with rather than
*what* we've done. I think if we'd been dealing with a network, or
probably any company *other* than TriStar we'd have our show back.

TriStar thinks they can easily get rid of us.

We have to show them how wrong they are.

There's been a lot of activity recently and there's no question that we
accomplished *a lot* of amazing things. And there's no question that a lot
of us are sad and burned-out by the whole thing. That's OK. If you need
to take a bit of a break, do it. Right now is a good time because
*nothing* is going to happen on this for months, possibly years. Mourn on
the list and to your online friends. That's what we're here for.

But don't stop writing. Write to Sony (I think the crane thing is
*wonderful* and major kudos to whoever came up with it). Write to
TriStar--eventually they're going to run out of places to ship our unopened
mail and they're going to have to start dealing with us sometime. Write to
USA. Since they'll be stripping it, they might be interested in a movie or
two down the line (and lets face it: as much as we hate them, movies
aren't going to work unless we have a network. Right now USA is our best
bet). Write to the sponsors, particularly during these last remaining
months and *especially* when the last couple of new episodes air.

*Everything* seems like it's coming back. Remind them about "Alien Nation"
(the new model for the rewards of fannish persistance). Remind them about
"Spencer: For Hire" on Lifetime, "Cagney and Lacey" on CBS, "Hart to Hart"
on FAM, "MacGyver" on ABC. Remind them that Republic Pictures is seriously
considering a "Beauty and the Beast" movie or miniseries. Remind them
about "Doctor Who," a *BBC* series that got cancelled in 1989. They just
finished principal photography on a made-for-TV movie that'll air on FOX in
May. Remind them that we waited *two years* for the show to come back
after the first season.

We have *every* reason to stay in this for the long haul and virtually no
reason to stop right now. I remember in the thick of the SOS-FK movement
there was a post from an "Alien Nation" fan who said that AN was her
absolute favorite show and that she *never* stopped writing to FOX about
it.

Our most important weapons are going to be persistance and increased
viewership. I came across during the first hiatus, when a friend asked me
to write a letter to TriStar about FK and I said I couldn't until I watched
it. With it going to USA in the fall our numbers will only increase as we
bring in new people and recruit them in the SOS-FK effort, whatever shape
and form that effort takes at the time (and with so many innovative and
creative people having input I'm certain it will continue to be unique and
break new ground in this area).

I guess the thing to keep in mind is that any long-term strategies we come
up with will, by necessity be considerably different from all the
short-term stuff we've come up with so far. I think the quieter nature of
a long-term effort will probably help us in the long run anyway as there's
less chance of people burning out and it'll guarantee a steady flow of
energy and effort rather than short, exhausting bursts.

In closing, all of the above is true regardless of how they "end" the
series or not. Remember, nothing is ever final in TV-Land.

It's something to think about, anyway.

Um, actually it's under "Dianne DeSha"... (surprisingly, my
folks did not name me "la Mercenaire"... little did *they* know ;-)

"Vice Versa" came out in November or so and should be on the various sites...

...if you really can't find it, let me know.

Sounds like it. So here is a new question. I take it that Larry Merlin is in
fact a resident of Toronto, but is Aristotle?

Subject: The Late Shift with John Kapelos

I taped The late Shift With John Kapelos last weekend and
watched it and decided to offer it to the list instead of
taping over it. I taped it in SP mode (2 hours/1tape)
and to my surprise no commercial was shown during the
movie. if anyone is interested please e-mail me, I
would like $10.00US in exchange for the tape & Air mail.
The reason I don't want to keep it as nothing to do with
John Kapelos, he's the reason why I watched it, but I
        just can't stand David Letterman.

Hi!
About one month ago I had to sign off this list because I was
transfering jobs and would no longer have email. Well FINALLY I got
email at my new job and I would like an update of waht has happened
in the last month regarding Saving Forever Knight. I noticed that
USA stopped airing FK and Fox picked it up. The last time I posted
to this list everyone (me included ) was writing letters to USA,
Tristar, etc. and the FK Fan appreciation week was happening during
the blizzard.

Thank You,

Lisa

Here in Birmingham, AL, at the "Lion and Unicorn" (A comic, card, and gaming

is from the 3rd level of the Thaumaturgy path Movement of Mind (Telekinetic

Vachon? Perhaps a Brujah. And our ol'pal Screed is either Nosferatu or
Gangrel...we're not quite sure which.

Well, it took me *4 days* to find a web page with instructions I could
actually follow and then 2 hours to fold 20 cranes. This page is for kids!
The photos are clear. and I *highly* recommend it to people who have hit a
snag in the middle of their cranes!

Happy folding!
