Subject: Found Another FK fan

While I was making copies of my Save FK flyer, the guy behind the
counter at the copy shop said "They're cancelling that Forever Knight
show?" I replied, "Well, they're *trying* to. Want a flyer?" He certainly
did.
Whomever said no one was watching FK is insane. I run into a few fans
almost everytime I wear one of my FK shirts. Anyway, the nice owner of
the campus comic book store let me put some flyers in there, and the
whole university has been good and plastered. We hit all of the public
kiosks and bulletin boards.

I just called the San Francisco affiliate, KOFY, and got a very
harried woman who (a) has been hearing the Save FK line a lot lately,
or (b) doesn't give a darn--I couldn't tell which.
    Harried Woman: KOFY, TV-20.
Me: Yes, I'm calling about one of the shows on your station,
Forever Knight? I just wanted to make sure that you're going to
purchase it for next season, because I never miss an episode.
     H.W.: Um-hmmm... I don't think we'll cancel it. Thanks for
calli--
Me: I hope not, but I've heard from a lot of people that unless
stations like KOFY specifically ask for it, it won't be back. Do you
know if KOFY plans to ask TriStar for it at NATPE?
     H.W.: I don't see why we wouldn't. Have a nice day. <click>
And the mean, bad KOFY lady hung up on me!! Well, at least I got
most of my spiel out first. I think I'll call back <after> lunchtime
and ask for the programming manager, so I can launch into my polite,
happy talk again with a new "victim." ;)

Subject: TV station in Canada

Hi everyone!

This is my second post to FORKNI-L. Please, someone, tell me if it worked!
Thanks!

For those of us who watch FK from a Canadian TV station, you might like
to know an e-mail address I found for CJOH-TV. You can reach Ron Thibault
at "ab363@f.......". He's a news producer for CJOH, so he might
be able to do something. This station has an estimated 2.5 million
viewers, so I'm sure there's some help to get there.

The address for CJOH TV is:
 1500 Merivale Road
 Ottawa ON K2E 6Z5

 Phone (613)224-1313 Fax (613)224-7998

The phone number concerning the station's programming is 224-1320 ext.209

Next step is to call car advertisers. Those guys have a lot of commercials
during FK, so they must also have an important impact on station's
decisions. The more we do, the more the fourth season becomes possible.

See y'all!

>Will the person who vowed to bungee jump off the CN tower let us know how

This one crossed my mind, too, but I suspect it's highly illegal.
Besides, without a crane to extend *out* from the tower, it's also
very dangerous. *BUT* -- if it's legal and set up by a legitimate
bungy operator, and if there's a 4th season, I may just fly out to
Toronto (from southern California) and join her in the bungy jump!

I also have waist-length hair. Should I cut it for a 4th season... ;-)

Good job, kids! That's what we really need -- people with initiative and
inexpensive ideas.

It's not snowing anymore; we didn't get nearly as much as last time. The
roads should be fine by tomorrow morning. We still have to shovel the
driveway, though. Wish we had a shovel -- the stores are sold out, so we
have to borrow from our neighbors.

Just a reminder from your social secretary: Tuesday is Brain's birthday.

Hi, my name is Perri and I'm a phone wuss.

I was a reporter for three years, even an editor, and to this day it
takes me ten minutes of staring at the damn phoneand calling myself names
before I can pick up the phone and actually call a stranger! Argh!
Dianne,t hat story had better be *danmed* good! <g>

But here's what KDAF in Dllas had to say. I talked ot the same woman in
programming that Jennifer Mingee got whe *she* called -- the first words
out of Katie's mouth when I asked what the sit was on Forever Knight
(hah! like I'm not the possessor of LOADS more information that she has.
<g>) was "I've been getting a lot of calls about the show." All right,
Dallasites! That's what I like to hear. Anyway, she said she still had no
clue what teh situation with the show was, she doesn't know if Tri-Star
has cancelled it, but they would continue to run it for as long as they
can (they're also the WB station here in town, they need it to fill their
'decent programming' quota). So I managed to somewhat incohgerently
explain that I would greatly appreciate it if they would track down
TRi-Star and particularly *ask* that the show get a fourth season at
NATPE. She said okay and tried to get off the phone, so I let her go.
Methinks KDAF is getting a bit tired of hearing from us. GOOD!

I still hate making calls, I'm glad it's over and that and going around
to stores tomorrow asking if I can leave flyers there *is* my penance for
afourth season! So there!

    I e-mailed a copy of the General Press Release to azstarnet.com. It's
our local morning paper. We don't subscribe to azstarnet, so all I could get

I went to the Sony site http://www.sony.com to see what movies they
had listed. I can't tell though which are specifically Tri-Star. Does
that make a big difference? And do you think it will be okay if we
patronize a Sony Theatre? Does that count? Anyway..the movies listed are:
"Dracula:Dead And Loving It"
"Jumanji" "The American President"
"Money Train" "Never Talk To Strangers"
"Othello" "Devil In A Blue Dress"
"Screamers" "The Run Of The Country"
"To Die For" "Desperado"
"Sense And Sensibility" "Beyond Rangoon"
Out on Video:
"The Babysitters Club" (I'm not sure if this is out)
"The Net"
"Johnny Mnemonic"
"Forget Paris"
*And my personal favorite out on video "First Knight"

I hope this helps :)

I have been seeing many ads on HBO for their upcoming
movie (next month) "The Late Shift" based on the book
by Bill Carter, NY Times TV reporter, about the late
night TV wars Letterman vs. Leno. I believe I
glimpsed John Kapelos in one ad playing Robert
"Morty" Morton, executive producer of Late Night/
Late Show with David Letterman. I certainly
plan to watch even though the Late Show News
editor gave the movie a poor review and other FK
fans may like to see John Kapelos since
he hasn't been on any of the new shows this season!

I don't know about SS, I don't get it up here, but I also believe the
crappy timeslots had to have been a big factor. 2:00 am Sunday morning on
NBC up here. Personally I feel, if you're still up from Saturday night,
you're likely partying or just crashing. Not a good time for new viewers
to discover a great show. I've also been politely asking for a better
timeslot, emphasising how dedicated I've been, dispite it's current time!

Now I, on the other hand, have been driving my boyfriend crazy by either
insisting we get home by 2:00am or turning on the TV when he's ready to
crash, . . . or whatever else might come up!!

However, he's learned the benefits of letting Nick and Vachon "rev" me
up, and patiently waits until 3:00am!! ; )

Welcome to the list Hugo,

Just wanted to say hi, and say Atlantic Canada is here.

There's several from Newfoundland, myself in Nova Scotia and several out
of New Brunswick, UNB I think.

Carry on Canada, it's another one of our shows (Due South) being
threatened, let's do it!!

Okay - I called KPDX Fox 49 and spoke to Sherry (great name!) the Assistant
to the Director of Programming. She is also an avid Forever Knight fan :)
and has been watching since Crimetime after Primetime... She says the ratings
are very good (solid?) even since they moved it to Friday morning at 4:30 am.
(Strings was on this morning :))

She says they will show all the episodes this year; she has told the General
Manager & Director of Programming to come back from NAPTE with a 4th season.
(She says they think she is weird but are going to try to purchase, anyway :))
The GM & DP are leaving next Friday - so there is still time to send letters -
she suggested Attn: Sherry.

It was so nice to speak to another fan in a position of authority. :)

I don't know about the area code. But I found a voice mail number for
the TV Guide. 1-900-896-2884. It costs $.99 a min. though.

Subject: What I will sacrifice.

Although I am always complaining about how Christian religion seems no
different than other religions in that it is just the superstitious writings
of ancient men (and this from a Catholic *but not by choice!*) I seem to fall
prey to that same superstition when it comes to things I want. Go figure.

Well, here goes. My tried and true way to get something done:

If there is a *fourth season* of Forever Knight (notice I am spelling it out
so there is no way for me to say it had nothing to do with this show, (ex.
"FK, a vampire show? Oh I meant a fourth season catch of Frozen Kippers from
out of the Atlantic!") I hereby vow to not eat anything with garlic in it for
as long as this show is run on television, including reruns (which I need at
the moment!) And if FK turns into the next Star Trek the Original Series I
may never eat garlic again! You must understand I *love* garlic! It should
be in nearly all foods. :)
Well I hope, sort of, that this helps. It has at least inspired me to write
a short silly story which I will post to the Fic list when finished.
Bye for now,

In next weeks tv guide they mention how many shows will be coping the X
files. There are currently 25 shows in development. --Believe it or not one
of those shows from the WB is a continuation of BUFFY the Vampire Slayer.

Can you belief that????

Anyway, What I can't understand if everyone is rushing to develop the shows,
why TRISTAR is refusing to sell FK for a 4th. Why not offer in NAPTE and if
it doesn't sell then say goodbye. What I am driving at is maybe there is more
to the decison than meets the eye. As a financial person I like to have my
cake and eat it too. It will not cost TriStar one red cent to market FK at
NAPTE. After NAPTE they could then do a cost beneift analysis to see if
enough sales were generated to justify the costs of production. By not doing
this I can;t help think that there are nonquantative reasons for their
decision.

Can we find out from our inside sources what's the scoop???

I also mentioned to the HL lists that they might could help us with calls

Subject: AOL Ger Conference Will Reschedule!

GOOD NEWS!!!!

Erin Murphy, OMNI Magazine Online's editor, told me today that the OMNI
Conference with Geraint Wyn Davies will be rescheduled! This rescheduling is
coming about not through the SSA Public Relations agency which handles PR for
the show, but through Geraint's own press agent in New York.

Ger wishes to assure the fans, through the medium of this conference, that
the show is continuing at least in syndication.

AS SOON as I have more details, I will post them! Erin was kind enough to
permit me to let you know about this even though this hasn't been finalized.
It's only a matter of coordinating AOL Conference scheduling with Geraint's
filming schedule.

This is an America Online event, so attendees must have AOL access. When I
know which conference room will be used I'll also post directions as well as
repeat the info on how AOL conferencing works. This is NOT the same as a
chat.

More when I get more!

Marcia Tucker, who never doubted this would finally come about!

Ditto. He specifically told me he was mentioning FK in *both*
his Jan. 15 and Jan. 22 columns. Maybe his editor didn't like the
repetition, who knows. Maybe he's timing his one mention for NATPE -- he
knows we're focusing on that.

        Who knows...

I lost his e-address because of having lost every single piece of
mail in the mail program, but if someone will bounce it back to me, I
will cheerfully inquire.
