I'm not sure of that FOX-68 here doesn't show it to my knowledge, anyone
in viewing distance of Syracuse correct me on that one?

I think you're dealing with an individual Fox synidcate there.

Subject: Cutting hair.

Take it from someone who knows... cutting hair is not a wonderful idea.
I went to Manchester with waist-long hair, and came back with a long
braid and the rest of my hair short enough to stick up w/o hair spray.
It's now nearly a year later, and my hair can barely make it past my
collora (the braid went in May, btw). Believe you me, lopping off double
digits of hair length is /not/ something that can be easily replaced.
Then again, I did look great an a Pernese riding helmet, but that's
another story. :)

Cheers,

Wasn't Ron kicked out of the NBFC also, and also for reasons that he
didn't know about (at least at the time he told us)? If you do find out
why, please let me know privately. I'd be real curious as to how someone
could get kicked out of fan club.

Okay Gang, what is up? What happened to "Hearts of Darkness" which
was normally scheduled? Of all the episodes this year, it's the only
one I don't have on tape, because my two-year old decided to play with
the VCR and taped over most of it with RUGRATS.

Thankfully, I can wait for my syndicate to repeat it and play the new
episodes... (Yup, we finally get a local station to pick it up in
Eastern Nebraska, and then WHAMMY!) More letters will be going out.
My Syndicate, KETV, said they will continue to broadcast the rest
of the years show that come through, and would be interested in picking
it up again if offered.

I guess it's a good thing that I can't seem to sleep between the hours
of 2:00am and 4:00am. Anybody who's interested, and in the Omaha, NE
viewing area, tune to:

                    KETV- Channel 7
                    2:00am Sunday Morning

They are scheduled to show STRINGS.

I have always liked Uncle. I never thought he was an evil person the way a
lot of people seemed to. He always seemed to me to have Nick's best
interests (or at least what he thought were Nick's best interests) at heart.
I suppose my perception could be coloured by the fact that I only started
watching in the second season, and in the first episode I saw, LaCroix was
*nice* to Nick!

However, now that I have seen the first and third seasons also, I don't see
any reason to change my judgement of Uncle. I still think he's not such a
bad guy. Although he did a lot more outwardly evil things in the first
season, there were also a couple of episodes where he looked after Nick
(like taking the blame for the problem with the civil war photographer in
"Unreality TV").

I think he still cares for Nick, and that Nick is only just noticing this
fact. I do NOT want LaCroix to become all sweetness and light, but I would
like it if he and Nick got on better.

Do I know how you feel!! After all the years this show has been on in a

There is a new magazine coming out called "Impaler" Here is some info I

Subject: mail crash again-- Pine help?

Dear list, forgive me if I send a blank message; I don't have the hang
of this AOL program -- and don't particularly want to get it, since I miss my
Pine account.
The help I want is re: the following situation:
There are two or three huge pieces of mail in my pine inbox that have
occupied all the storage so that when I try to enter it, I get kicked back to
the Unix prompt with the message "bug detected in pine: no more free
storage" I have some saved-message files inside Pine that are inside
brackets, eg [fkfic] and [sos-useful] that I am unable to download to try to
create space. I would be happy to be able to download the contents of my
inbox as well.
The two or three pieces of mail in my inbox have multi-meg attached
files. I believe if those can be removed -- either deleted or downloaded --
I'll be OK. Does anyone know how to do this?
My sysop/admin appear to be offline because of the blizzard. We have
just gotten another hit of snow so I'm assuming they can't get to their
equipment for tomorrow as well. That's why I'm troubling the list with this
problem. Thank you all for indulgence and help.

Incidentally, I usually troll through the list and try to bounce things
that are asked for. I can't do that until I'm back on pine because that's
where they are stored. So I apologize to anyone who needs an address or
other info -- will try to catch up if Pine comes back up with my inbox
intact.

Thanks, Laura/Apache

Why not send the shorn locks, artfully coiffed into several braids,
bound with black ribbon, to Kay Koplovitz (sic) with a note that the fans
are in mourning for the loss of Forever Knight and according to their
customs are cutting their hair to demonstrate it to the world. We could

Howdy all--I hate to duplicate info that may have gone out, but I seem to have
missed this warning on the list (I've been too busy to do more than skim my
digests this last few weeks.)

If you are printing/copying/handling/handing out the News Releases, please
check to make sure the URL is correct.

Jamie pointed out to me last week that it's CznJamiMR, NOT CznJamieMR--no "e".
I sent out Emails to a few people warning them of the correction, but no one
emailed back that they'd fixed it. My messages may not have reached them! So
please *do* check.

Thanks, and sorry to be so paranoid & fussy.

I wouldn't like to see LC destroyed. I'd like to see flashbacks where they
had a grand ol' time together. They must have for at least part of the
first 700 or so years. I sort of see LC as being "amused" by Nick's quest
now, rather than being angry. Sort of like "Oh, it's a phase... a 100 year
phase, but a phase never the less."

Sounds like a wonderful idea! I'll miss the Murder She Wrote re-runs, but I
can live with it. I can't see supporting someone who thinks my needs and/or
wants would be met by drek like Campus Cops. I'll even take it a step
further -- I'm going to write a letter to my local cable company complaining
about the abrupt downturn in the quality of programming on USA and ask them
to drop USA from their line-up (they did it once before, you never know).
I'll even cc: it to Ms. Koplovitz for good measure!

Subject: SOS-NATPE: Support Your Local Strike Force!

The NATPE Strike Force is assembled and ready to charge into battle. The
Force consists of myself, Dianne DeSha, Toni Holm, Debbie Lichtman, Angela
Yung-Ju Lai, and Catherine Boone. We will be descending on the Sands
Convention Center January 24. Objective: a fourth fantastic season of Forever
Knight!

Support your troops! Write your local syndication station TODAY! Tell them to
ASK for Forever Knight at NATPE!

I MEAN IT! WRITE! DO IT NOW! Then e-mail Karen Tobin and tell her what
station you wrote to. As of yesterday, our station-contacted count is only
FORTY!

C'mon folks, I KNOW you can do better than that! If we, your Strike Force,
can take time off work *and* use our own money to get there, *and* face down
Corporate Leaders in the name of saving FK, YOU can write a letter to your
station, so our time and effort are not wasted!

WRITE NOW to your local syndicated station. DO NOT DELAY. These people will
be leaving for NATPE at the end of next week, and Monday IS a Federal holiday.

WRITE TODAY!

Then get involved in Forever Knight Appreciation Week!

DO IT, people! We NEED your help to succeed in this! Without all of you
contacting your local syndicated stations, we, the Strike Force, might as well
stay home.

Subject: SOS-NAPTE: We Have Ignition!

The NATPE bags were ordered as of today. Total cost, NOT including express
shipping to Las Vegas, will be $3300.

As of today, I have less than $2000 in pledges.

We are COMMITTED to pay for these bags. Our supplier is doing us an
*incredible* favor by rushing them through in this time frame.

So, if you have pledged, mail your check, payable to Laurie Cohen Fenster, to:

SOS-FK
P.O. Box 00000
Xxxxxxxxxx, XX 00000-0000

If you haven't, e-mail me with the amount you'll be sending and THEN mail the
check. $10, if possible. More, if you can afford it.

We have a $1300+ short-fall, and still have to cover shipping.

Mail your checks NOW. The bags will be completed on 1/18, and must be paid
for at that time, so if possible, please mail your check by 1/15.

Also, we need to get NATPE flyers/brochures printed up. Anyone who is willing
to copy 1000 double-sided sheets and mail them to our hotel in Las Vegas,
e-mail me NOW.

We need 20,000 flyers/brochures! That means at LEAST 20 volunteers willing to
copy 1000 flyers each. CONTACT ME!

This is an excellent idea, something we can plan for, and gain more
support for. Hit them in the "pocketbook" so to speak. Let them know,
that even in a month's time, after they've walked away so arrogantly, that
we still have the power to hit back, and we have long memories! But for
now, if they're out, forget about them and concentrate on TriStar.

Should we be looking for another network to pick it up, or what would be
involved here? Would it be inappropriate to write to another network,
send them some comments from some of the reviewers, fans and affiliates,
and ask them if they'd be interested in the product? How is this
handled? Can we take an active part in searching for a new home?

That's a good cousine, Celeste. Let's scare our new members. Maybe we can
extract somethings valuable from their subsequent incontinence. (BTW,
Jenni, that's actually part of the list's initiation. Urine samples may
be sent to the USA Network. When Forkni-l Central gets back the results,
we'll let you know.)

Now, in regards to flyers - i put 30+ up around UCI and one in each of
Irvine's public libraries. As i type, i'm having more printed up to post
around UCLA (and i'll be sending you one of these, Lana. They're a little
better :) [Names removed by request] will try to hit some of the other public libraries
and community colleges in lower California this weekend, if we have
enough copies left over.

i hope we're making a difference ([Names removed by request], i mean. You guys with
jobs and more $ certainly are :)

Yes, hubby has *lots* of Monty Python around the house. But anyway,
speaking of the infamous (in)edible `gelatinous cube' (even if it's
not 10' square...any `old fogie' gamers like me'll get the joke...) I
just *happen* to have a copy of the latest "Mass Army Navy" catalog.
And on page 49 I just happen to see...

     SPAM T-SHIRTS!!!

Yes, you too can own one of these handsome, humorous pieces of
nostalgia... <evil grin>

Actually, there's not one, but TWO different styles. Wear your spam
in style! <snicker> Sorry, couldn't resist. Here's the info if any of
you crazy spam eaters out there want to wear the stuff. <g>

Uh, be warned... deliveries may take a bit, since the city of BOSTON
is pretty much paralyzed after that last huge snowstorm. Geez,
Florida I can see paralyzed, but Boston?? Yikes... And we're due to
get about 4 inches here, but the last time they said 8 inches, we got
two feet so I dunno....

them myself <g>) and would probably lend a hand to the cause.

There's one here in Rochester (Rudicon) in October as well, but I
