I'm hearing this too now, from two places. It was why I signed a
post yesterday 'Perkulator and praying to remain one.'
However, when I posted that Huge Good News holler, I assure you I
had been told *the exact thing I posted,* and I had been *told* to spread
the news.

Please forgive if this has already been mentioned - I'm dedicating the next
three hours to reading and responding to all my (mostly FORKNI-L) mail.
Highlander has been picked up, I assume in syndication, by WGN and I noticed
that WGN did not bleep out the BVD shot or the use of the word "bitch," when
used to refer to a female dog. AND, WGN showed HL at 5pm CT Saturday
(today). So, since USA is pulling out and 50% coverage of the local
syndicated stations isn't enough, could selling FK to WGN help?

Subject: why USA cancelled FK
I had another "reading" done on FK with some interesting results. The queen
of swords showed herself again indicating a strong willed woman. ( guess
who?!). But I had a most interesting and inspired insight into why USA really
cancelled FK. They were not pleased that we (the fans) were not pleased with
their changes.
Oh sure ratings may have had something to do with it although nothing in the
reading indicated it. I think what happened was a case of egoism (in show
business? no!). A kind of " If they don't like the changes then we don't want
them. "
Let's face it this show was never formula except for the cop part which, you
may have noticed, USA tried to emphasize. Executives hate anything original
because they don't know how to react to it. Formula is good, formula is
familiar, we like familiar becasue we know it sells.
Mr. B was right when he opined that Tri-Star doesn't know how to deal with
the show, because they don't know how to market it. ( I'm paraphrasing,
sorry)
USA discovered that too . Supposedly TPTB were shown posts from this very
list after "Black Buddha" aired. We hated the changes. They
were humilated by the fact that their changes were unwelcome. Again the
reading confirmed this. As the reading went on I finally stopped my psyche
friend ( who knows zip about show business) and informed her I had heard
enough.
I was filled with a sense of " this is true" and got really depressed. No
amount of pleading would do. The egos have been bruised. That's not our
fault, it's theirs. Ratings are not the only thing that fuels the business of
making a TV show.
Just an obversation from the other side of things.

I rented an episode of _Twin Peaks_ just because I wanted to see David
Duchovny in a dress (don't ask.) Instead of paying attention to DD, I
was watching a kid named Nick who was with his Uncle. Then little Nick
flicks a spoonful of ice cream into his Uncle's face. After I stopped
laughing, I said aloud "Oh, Nick that was *not* a smart thing to do.
You only *think* you've seen Uncle in a bad mood." Then, I thought
about Ludia's quote and began to imagine Uncle licking an ice cream
cone. :-)
ob SOS -- FK was not seen at its regular time tonight in New Orleans.
I have called and mailed, but have yet to get any information. If
there is anyone in New Orleans who watches FOX 38, or 13 cable, please
contact me if you have any info on this. I'm trying not to get upset
before I have hard facts.

Actually, I came up with an idea myself that I ended up using (not on
the new station as all I get is an answering machine when I call them, but on
the "oldies" station) -- "Oh What A Night" by the Four Seasons.
Unfortunately I had to leave the area not long after I called and don't know
if they ever played it or not. I'm going to try again this week.
BTW, Kayla, I'm doing the cut and paste method.

Okay gang, put these disparate pieces together:
(1) Another World (or, is it Days of Our Lives?) is a PGP (Proctor and
Gamble Productions, NOT Pretty Good Privacy) program.
(2) Dark Shadows was a long-running daytime soap.
(3) P&G actually mentioned program development in their response letter
Hey, the daytime soaps don't show nearly as much skin as we've seen on USA
so far... ;-)

commercial break of MBIAV, at 3:28 am -- and presumably the tech on duty at
the station is asleep, because instead of advertisements, you get a blank
black screen...

the promo... here's the promo for the episode they just aired... here's the
promo again... more blank black space... You think I oughta call WLIG and
wake up the poor tech?
When the station personnel fall asleep at the board -- that's a BAD time
slot.

sometimes, you get an encore? That it's not over till it's over, and
sometimes even when you think it's over, it's not?
Call me superstitious, but I'll take all the lucky signs I can get.
Even if they're basically just a sign that WLIG's technician needs some
sleep.

If you have others, we'd love to watch them. I, also, have all of 2nd and
3th season plus the Rick S. movie.
Food: I've given a lot of thought about this and finally decided that I
don't know any of you enough to make a clear decision. In that light,
please answer the following:
1) What foods are you allergic to?
2) Are you a vegetarian?
3) Are you Jewish?
4) Are you allergic to turkey? I use a lot of turkey.
5) What time do you nornally eat?
6) Would you prefer Pizza or Lasagne? What are your favorites?
7) Do you have a suggestion?
8) Are you older than 21? (This is to determine whether I will serve
alcoholic beverages.)
9) What is you favorite soft drink?
10) Do you want coffee? Caf? Decaf?
At this point, I'm planning on providing a main course, soft drinks, and one
or two Blood Drinks and probably some chips and dips. If you want, please
bring something. Sweets, chips, dips, other.... whatever you want. I'll
let you know how many are coming. You can plan accordingly. When I decide
on what to serve, I'll Email the decision.
Please bring fanish items for sale if you have them. This includes
fanzines, etc.
If you want to do something for the Save the Knight cause, let me know. We
can do it at the party. Unfortunately, do to time restrainst, I will not
have time to organize something myself. Please note that a letter writing
campaign TPTB can be done at the party. Bring paper and ideas.
One more note:
Angela Yung-Ju Lai, who I assumes lives around the UCLA area, needs a

It's a sort of meat product in a can. Combination of pork and ham and lots
of additives, preservatives,
and sodium <aaaahhhhhh, cholesterol!!!!>(or you could say it's the type of
thing a poor boy living
in Seattle would buy to save as much money as he could to spend on his
motorcycle since it's relatively
cheap). Eaten in different ways - fried, grilled, etc. It's an interesting
taste (definitely an acquired one).
We just saw Double Eagle again - wasn't Richie so cutely distressed when
Amanda started coming
on to him to find out where Duncan went - he knew what was happening and
still didn't stand a chance!

Last week I sent Kay Koplovitz, Ron Perth, Bonnie Hammer and Jon Feltheimer
coffee mugs filled with Hershey's chocolates. Inside the mugs were a popup
signs saying "SOS SAVE OUR SHOW PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL FOREVER KNIGHT! The
chocolates were a way of getting them to "sweeten" their position on FK.
